Uh huh... so the question is, have you ever ridden in a Police car? And doing it intentionally or having an ex cop car doesn't count. So... have you? If so.. entertain us with a story.

So... why did I start this? Last night... I got a nice ride in a cop car. Yay. :D

I was riding my ATV late at night (no, not nude or without lights again), like around midnight for something to do since I wasn't tired and the electric went out preventing me from getting on the computer last night (I really don't know why... it wasn't storming or anything). Well... I forgot that I had switched to my reserve tank the previous time I took it for a ride. I was riding through the woods near Brookville when I ran out of gas. Fun. I decided to make the best of it and walk into town, look at some cars, and get something to eat at Sheetz (two hot dogs for $.99 and a bottle of Diet Pepsi as well). Again, since I was there, I walked down main street reading the Historic Brookville plaques that are on the older buildings. Well... a cop comes by and stops to talk to me. Awesome. He's wondering why I'm out walking so late and questions what I am doing. Heh... to get to the point, I got to spend a good hour or so in a cop car talking to a cop until my Grandma came to pick me up. Today, I got to ride my (well, my dad's) mountain bike into town and over to my other grandparent's house, so I could get gas and get my 300EX. I, of course, got to explain everything to them. Super duper fun. Same with my parents, when they found out........ :D

When I was a kid, I used to hang out at my Uncle's place (across the street from my parents). My Uncle had a friend who was a local cop and he used to stop by on his break all the time. Well, one day I'm over there hanging out with my Uncle and his buddy when all of the sudden they both get this evil look in their eyes and I start running. They caught me after a good chase and toss me in the back of the patrol car and the cop proceeds to drive me all around the neighborhood so everyone gets to see me stuck in the back of his car. It was all in good fun, but I sure got some funny looks from the neighbors.

"Yes... a few times"

Never arrested and never cause I was in trouble, but once

I got a ride to school in one of Haverhill's Crown Vics.

after I dropped off my crunched up Achieva right after my

accident. Another time I got a ride to and from a friend's

house becasue my STS was "borrowed" against my will by

a friend. I got a ride there and was escorted out in my car

so there would be no trouble.

The third time was the night I sold my 1986 Fleetwood

Brougham, a buddy got arrested after trying to get out of

a speeding ticket by out running the cops. He didn't out run

them but they were nice enough to give us both a ride in

one of their NH issue Interceptors. I got to ride without any

handcufs on but he got to hang out in the back of the

police station while I bailed him out. :D

Cop says over loud speaker " damnit you know the procedures sit in the passenger seat"

Cops put you in the passenger seat so they can keep an eye on you and there partner in the back to watch you to.

I've come to like Crown vic's and explorer's.

I once saw a guy (very drunk) walk up to a cop sitting in his cruiser and say "Taxi, take me to my hotel..." The cop proceeded to toss him in the back and take him to jail a couple blocks away. That ride must have sucked!

A buddy of mine and I were heading to the mall to get some cash. About mid-way between school and the mall, my clutch cable broke leaving us stranded miles from anything. It was five o'clock on a Friday which made it nearly impossible to repair my car.

A friendly state trooper was called out to assist. My buddy was a little reluctant to get in the back seat of the marked Crown Vic..it seems he's been back there before but not on such friendly terms. Having grown up around the police, I was fine with it.

The officer asked where we were going and he was happy to swing by the mall before taking us back to the dorms.

Sitting at a traffic light, I decided to have a little fun. Two lanes over was another car with a teenager sitting in the passenger seat. Slumped down in the back of the cruiser, I turned to my buddy and said "watch this."

I crossed by wrists as if they were bound together with cuffs, raised my hands into the window and quickly waved at the little girl. She quickly informed the kids in the back seat of her car that the "criminal" in the police car had just waved. They all popped up to take a look.

My buddy was not as ammused as I was.

It was April 2nd of 1975 and I left work at 4:30pm, with my car pool driver in a 1965 Pontiac Tempest convertible (his car). It was snowing (Blizzard) and the roads were so bad that we had to pull over and abandon the Pontiac at 11:30pm. We had only traveled about 8 miles and had about 5 more to go.

After grabbing a burger at a local restaurant, we started walking the rest of the way home. With about 2 miles to go (1:00am), a local cop spotted us and asked if we needed help. He had the departments K9 station wagon and pretty decent traction, so he drove us the remaining 2 miles, to our front doors.

Later that week, I heard that this cop had picked up 30 - 40 people and drove them home or to another town's cop car to take them the rest of the way home. It seems that the local cops from 3 or 4 towns had worked out a plan to get people home or to a shelter.
