What Would Buy Instead- Jaguar XF 35t R-Sport Edition

Recommended Posts

First numbers test I believe I've seen on the new XF. The old one was pretty enough, but never really captivated me. There's something about this new one I really like. C&D has plenty of good things to say about it, as well. Here's the review for those interested- http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2016-jaguar-xf-35t-r-sport-test-review.

As always, you have from 10% under the base price, up to 10% over the as-tested price to spend on a car in roughly the same genre. Going up or down a size is allowed, but no 2-seat sports coupes or SUV's, obviously.

Base price was $61,645. As-tested was $74,785. Price range allotted- $55,480-82,265.

You must spend at least $55,480. You cannot spend any more than $82,265.

Well, once I looked around it wasn't too tough at all to make a switch. First I saw the A7 was well within the price range and with every option I wanted it was just a tick under 83k(I would have had to change something but not a big deal). Then I thought..hey if the A7 is within price I bet the CLS is also..I wonder which car makes more power for under 83k??? CLS. V8.

333hp V6 vs 402hp V8

So I built one and it's less than $100 over the $82,265. Mine was $82,360. I'll walk past the car and scratch the paint somewhere to work out a $100 savings. lol

HA!

I could fit many cars in this price range without breaking my head maxing out at $82 265

I saw that Tesla has increased their prices and discontinued some models due to better battery offerings...

ITS OK...Ill take...for Montreal, a P70D AWD that starts at $75 000 and Id option it out to $82 000...

If the government rebates are to be counted in, then an AWD P90 base model starting at $88 000 minus government subsidies with maybe some options would be suffice.

I think I like a white Tesla Model S with various black accents.

sorry for the size.
