Geo Metro convertible? :P

Wrong direction, you're getting colder.

There's a red one in my neighborhood

and I have the fortune of seeing that

bucket of plastic fasteners drive by

my house every day. :duh:

Not a Justy either Balthazar. Nor a Cavalier

with a really crappy No. 3 spark plug wire.

Not the Sprint, although that is an excellent guess.

This car is not as daring & weird as the Sprint.

Here's a guess: it was featured in an advertisement

with a 1960s VW Microbus van.

Nope. I thought this was going to be a wicked quick one...

turns out it's a little bit of a challenge. The fuel tank capacity

is about ten and a half gallons give or take and the car

has a styling elemsnt that can be found on may classic cars

from the 1950s.

Chevette?

I was going for the 50's styling cue to being a chrome steel bumper.

...but you should be defending it since it has RWD. :P

I'm going to confess that the fact that I stumped so

many of you is a little satisfying.

I think a lot of you will be saying D'oh! when you

hear the answer. Here's another hint: It came in

"puke green" as so many people call it. I'd call it

more "pea soup green".

He said odd number of cylinders which eliminates almost everything. I'm guessing either a Japanese three cylinder or European 5 cylinder. Unless it's one of those strange three cylinder SAABs . . . :scratchchin:

Whoops, somehow I missed that. Hrm, couldn't be the Firefly then. Tri-bangah anyone?

I dunno...not the VW Thing?

An old Volvo 850 (or whatever they were, the ones with the 1-5s) or an Acura (was it the Vigor or Legend that had an I-5) or a Ford Mustang GT 5.0 that they thought it would be fun to saw a cylinder off of.

VW Thing has a pancake four.

Flybrian got it! :)

Insight, two passanger, three cylinder, super light weight

& it has wheel skirts which were in their prime from like

1958 - 1964. I was careful to not reveal the hybrid part

of it since that would make it obvious.

I appreciate what Honda was trying to do with that car - I mean EVERYTHING was engineered for efficiency, including those wheel skirts. However, I think the 2-passenger thing is a bit of a problem. Then again, it doesn't keep many people from buying a Solstice, apparently. I would never buy a 2-passenger car, personally. 4 people in my car is rare, but 3 seems to happen a lot for some reason. Guess I should get a McLaren F1.

Seriously though, I think this is one of the few cars I would look at and say, "Should have gotten a Prius instead". :ohyeah:

I disagree buddy... I think the "economical commuter car"

approach like the Insight is the way to go. Who here has

seen a Prius with more than two passangers? I've never

seen it other than in that silly Just Friends movie. You

almost always see one or two passangers.

The Prius is IMHO stupid and boring... the Insight is

something that I'd actaully buy for a commuter car if I

lived like 70 miles away from work & had a 500cu.in.

powered 1971 Cadillac Fleetwood for a weekend toy.

To each his own I suppose.

I guess if I could have more than one car...

It's just something I can't even fathom right now.

Agreed... if you need more than 2 passanger capacity

then you're not in a position to buy the Insight. I think

it's meant to be a 2nd or 3rd car for most people.

Nah Sixty8, that's where you're wrong. The Saturn SKY is meant to be a second or third car in a household! :P:ohyeah::thumbsup:

In a perfect world, yes. And also the Solstice & Vette.
