Another pic of ocnblu as a tyke. He would stand defiantly in the driveway for hours in his chauffeur's cap, because his father would inexplicably not allow him to drive the family Chevrolet. Ultimately, a chrome push bar was affixed to the front bumper, to very gently nudge him out of the way when it was time for dad to go to work.

In light of recent F1 engine talk, I thought this ad topical. F1 participants today all build identical engines: 1.6L V6s with single turbos. They output about 900 HP. Here's a Ford ad from the Balthy Collection- pretty positive this ad was 1980. They took their 1.7L Fiesta 4-banger, turbo'd it and got 560 HP. Again: just about 40 years ago. Sure : 900>560, but down 2 cylinders and 40 years. Not too shabby (plus spanking porsches).

Yesterday was my sister's birthday, so I took her out to dinner tonight at our favorite seafood restaurant, Pier W. Took Uber Black to get there and back...on the way there, the driver had a 2016 Escalade ESV...very comfortable, loads of leg and headroom in the 2nd row. On the way back, the driver had a 2016 Lincoln MKS. Had an interesting conversation w/ the driver, said he bought it new but at 25k and 50k miles the engine had to be replaced each time under warranty due to some failure. had 70k on it now. Comfortable ride. He's planning on trading it on a Navigator in the next year, for the new Uber Black SUV series (currently there is Uber Black and Uber Select for the more premium rides, sounds like the SUVs in Uber Black will get their own categorization as Uber Black SUV). Waste of water. Get out of the shower, spray it down with cleaner. Next time you're dirty enough to need another one, jump in with your scrubber. The warm water melts the crap and makes it super easy to clean. You and your shower end up squeaky.

I'd want that green convertible w/ the tan interior. I'll have to check out the configurator. The bronze would look good w/ a brown interior. I love how many exterior and interior colors are available.. one combo I do like is Elkhart Lake Blue w/ ultra bright trident spoke wheels w/ 3LT trim and Natural Dipped (tan) interior. The Morello red interior looks great also, would work well with the exterior in Shadow Gray. Sweet... The C8 is one of those cars I think will look great in person...withholding styling judgement until I can walk around one (and hopefully sit in one).

The configurator has me all flummoxed. I am a blue and green person, but the Zeus Bronze with Pewter accessory wheels is the bomb. With the dark red interior. And I am not a red person. The orange pops. The yellow is a necessary, fitting color for it. Rapid blue with the black/blue accent interior? I WANT IT. Too many top shelf configurations! The configurator site is like permanently jammed, the world is too ready for this! I see a snarky meme over onto the Facebook calling it the "2020 Fiero". I thought the same thing, but in the best possible way. The starting price just blows my mind.

I did hear a story where a Silverado owner sneezed and the truck exploded. There've been a few stories of that happening over the last few years. But I drive with a clothespin on my nose, everyday. No worries.

Maybe it's built as well as my 192,xxx mile SIlverado, which just. keeps. going. Running gear all original, no rot, doors don't sag, still pulls like a freight train, tows, hauls (but has never been towed or hauled)…. if the Corvette is built like that Chevy; WOW!

Rivian has started stamping metal for production.

Not too bad for a mid-size car with AWD, Active Cruise, and Android Auto/Carplay standard.
