  1. Everything rusts here in Ohio.... I love my Ranger and ykX loves his Mustang, but maybe Ford ought to try this simple way of making cars. Pretty much Rust Proof!

  4. I like those! When you go to those chain hotels in the Lone Star state, they have self-serve waffle makers that produce waffles shaped like the state of Texas! Only the strawberries for me. Add syrup, too. Creative, even though Texas can be self-regarding in many ways. But it lends itself to being a waffle, unlike California and Florida!

  11. Waiting of pictures of Tacomas and Tundras from 30 years ago to say that others have rust issues too. Just yesterday I drove behind probably a 10 year old F-150 and the amount of rust on it was unbelievable.

  13. Fisker abandons solid-state EV batteries Fisker abandons solid-state EV batteries | Autoblog "I think personally, they’re at least seven years out, if not more, in terms of any sort of high-volume format," he said. "... once you have a breakthrough in that technology, you need probably three years to set up high-volume manufacturing, and then you need another three years to do durability testing. So even if somebody invented it today, it would be at least probably six years out."

  14. Seems huge obstacles in obtaining raw materials are hampering all projections of achieving 100% BE vehicles by 2035. A harsh dose of reality, perhaps. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/electric-america-needs-more-mines-174844266.html It is obviously pertinent to include the carbon footprint of building/operating new mines and all that involves, in the so-called 'carbon footprint' of BE's (not to mention the carbon footprint of manufacturing & installing a few hundred thousand public charging stations). The raw materials and fueling infrastructure of IC has long been established.

  16. I much prefer French Toast over waffles. Pancakes a close second. And Quebec lends itself to look like French bread dipped into egg batter perfectly... With gobs and gobs of Quebec maple syrup and butter. With a sunny side up egg on top and bacon and ham. Breakfast of Champions Id say!

  21. WOW, Crazy but it seems that the 2021 F-150 lineup is having a serious rust problem already across the product line. 2021 Ford F-150 Owners Are Already Facing Rust, Corrosion Issues (fordauthority.com) This is not a good thing for Ford! Rusty pools on your garage floor is NOT what a new owner wants especially after trading in his 2016 F-150 with 65,000 miles and very little rust. FORD YOU HAVE A PROBLEM!

  26. "can’t match in terms of solidity and precision" "doesn't handle with much verve" "feels almost reluctant when pressed" "feels lighter on its feet" I just don't know what anyone is supposed to do with these statements. Buick's aren't marketed to folk who on rare occasions like to "make quick work out of erasing mildly banked 90 degree turns", so while C&D's criteria is running a mommy-mobile around a road course, I question the relevance of such.

  29. From C&D tests Envision: "The new Envision doesn't handle with much verve. Steering feel is largely absent and the body leans in corners more than we like, but its smooth ride quality is one area where the Buick feels legitimately luxurious. " RDX: "Despite its claimed 57/43 front/rear weight distribution, the RDX with SH-AWD maintains a tight line when pushed. A confidence-inspiring trait, it makes quick work out of erasing mildly banked 90 degree turns. The feel at the wheel is light and lively, and the RDX as a whole feels lighter on its feet than a comparably equipped BMW X3 but can’t match the Bavarian in terms of solidity and precision. The stoic Audi Q5, by comparison, feels almost reluctant when pressed to perform similar tight maneuvers, leading us to wonder just how much work its rear wheels are doing." Also: Envision: 60 mph: 7.3 sec RDX: 60 mph: 5.7 sec X3 30i 60 mph: 6.2 sec

  30. Seems more V's are coming to Cadillac, but not Blackwing so as to not dilute the name as being the top performance auto. 34. Feels relevant here... "Buick's new second-gen Envision is attractive and less expensive than other compact luxury SUVs, but it's more of a premium pretender than actually premium. It's not that the completely redesigned, second-generation Envision isn't visually appealing or packed with popular features. That's true on both counts. But beyond those basic prerequisites, the Envision lacks the driving joy and truly upscale traits that might help it transcend its position as a compact luxury SUV poseur." https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a35606676/2021-buick-envision-by-the-numbers/

  36. U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Unions across the US and State Elected officials have asked Congress to take speedy action on boosting spending on the National Infrastructure of Roads, Electrical, Water and parks. The ask is for $2 Trillion to replace functionally obsolete bridges and roads as just one example. Latest studies show that more than half of the roads and bridges in America are poor or mediocre condition at best. Texas power outage is a perfect example of what NOT TO DO, as such, we need to invest in rebuilding the US for the 21st century. Governor Whitmer of Michigan says 43% of the major roads in her state are in poor condition especially the bridges. Congress has said that the Fuel tax revenue which has not changed in decades is an obsolete way to pay for infrastructure repairs / rebuilding. President Biden met with Union representatives from across the country that informed him they are read to get millions of people back to work in a safe way to rebuild America.
