  1. Came out of the ophthalmologist office and saw 4 black SUVs in a row (my Jeep was the only one there when I went in). The TrailBlazer on my right was in good shape. Later at a light saw this faded '65 Riviera and a bright red/white '57 Chevy Bel Air Sports Sedan.

  3. A lot of car spotting today. There is a little local car show here every second Saturday a month (during the warm months). Some nice rides out there but I could only get a few pics because I was working at a shop on that very street today. Some more... I also just realized that I posted this on the June thread instead of the July thread. F***! Oh well.

  4. Sitting at the edge of a Wal-Mart lot was this Shelby GT500. I like the black with stripe delete color scheme over the usual day glo cartoon colors these seem to come in.

  5. Yes. I just looked it up. It's the third gen, so between 2005 and 2010, more or less. Also, it's a 2-door hatchback. Manual everything indeed.

  6. Simple cars like this last for ever. Seems an auto with manual everything just about just last. Very clean for how old it is.

  7. Well done! You've got it down. One of the funniest scenes in this landmark comedy. It's too bad that political correctness now interferes with the type of good comedy that was much more prevalent a few decades ago. Happy weekend! "Neutron Dance" ... timeless.

  9. Saw a black Lincoln MKS with the license plate 'GNX'. Since it wasn't a Buick, I assume maybe someone's initials---like Gene Norbert Xavier or something like that.

  10. Yeah, and I realize now I'd already posted in it. Sometimes threads are hard to find when you want them. Been a crazy couple of weeks.

  13. • pulled the master cylinder & power booster to cross-reference for dual MC upgrade. • pulled LH rear wheel/brake to evaluate braking components. Drum is fine, shoes look fine but might replace those anyway. Hydraulics will be 100% new. • stripped the linkage and a vent apparatus off the trans; going to the rebuilder next week. Also did some scraping/ wire brushing/ burr filing on the case exterior.

  15. OldsHurst wants to become a TV evanglist because it is lucratiuve, but the Weed/Grass thing is probably the biggest cash crop here in Ohio and Indiana. We now know how he is going to afford restoring that B-59... It will never end...

  16. So here at my local caddy dealership which used to be a Buick, Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Cadillac dealership. Building is the same as it was since they built it back in the 50's. Now they are finally going to remodel into a 21st century luxury dealership. A great assortment of older auto's on the lot either employee owned , in for service or for sale. Employee owned In for service Used for sale New 2021 for sale. Wow, only 3 new Escalade, 4 new cars and 2 new cuvs on the lot, about 50 or so used and the used are selling at new prices. Crazy, they just sold a 2yr old used Toyota Rav 4 XLE hybrid for 52K, sold new T $49k. I had seen the stories, but now is not the time to buy an auto. Crazy used prices due to the chip shortage. Yup, here killing time as I await my oil change.

  17. Some slotting of some spotting into its proper out-of-town month. Seen in SoCal ... An El Camino in not so great shape but still running, most likely with a 305 c.i. V8 ... and when it was likely that the 5 GM brands were sold at their respective dealerships. Also, the plate sequence looks very original. - - - - - An old school convertible Cadillac Seen along Imperial Highway (yes, from "I Love L.A." by Randy Newman) at Pershing Drive, the road that bounds the western edge of LAX, slightly inboard from and parallel to the Pacific Ocean Seen at the signal of Imperial Highway and Vista del Mar, which runs along the beach and which the planes take off over. I can assure you SoCal was a much nicer and more livable place when EITHER of these cars were newly minted.
