Today is about absolutely perfect...74 and sunny...same tomorrow for my birthday, then back in the 90s. I should go to the beach this evening.2 points

I got mine a bit over 2 weeks ago. Only very mild side effects, but it was Pfizer instead of my previous 3 being Moderna. There will be a new Moderna Omicron version out in the fall right in time for my next booster. From the data they submitted to the FDA, not only does this new version provide better protection against Omicron, it got updates for Alpha and Delta versions as well.2 points

Need a way bigger picture, so small cannot see any details, Olds. Nope, not everyone is a winner. That fact is what drives humanity to do better I believe. Saying everyone is a winner is the Lemming philosophy that pushes humans to just accept mediocre. So true, we do not have enough mental health experts to help everyone, proof is look at all the homeless and the issues one can find there. So true, politicians are the worst ever, proof is the last 6 years and how crazy things have become. A solid reason why I believe we need term limits. Stay cool guys, have a great day, look forward to our next conversation/debate on auto's. ?2 points

Sometimes we get run down from running ourselves down. I remember that, somehow, I got through finals and tying up loose ends during all my semesters while in grad school, where it was harder than undergrad and I was more committed, got on the plane to fly home, and was sick for about 3 to 4 days with aches, no energy, and a slight temperature. It happened every time. And then it cleared up every time.2 points

I just noticed today is National PTSD Awareness Day. Some people are practically "paralyzed" by PTSD, depending on the severity of it. It can happen to both veterans and people who were not in the armed forces. I believe the last month - May - is Mental Health Awareness Month. The number of people in our country, and the world, who suffer from mental health conditions, and for whom they infringe on their overall health and quality of life, is significant. The general public is becoming more aware of and empathetic toward mental illness. That's a big step forward.2 points

I love Toronto's skyline. When there were fewer buildings (I was looking at some photos from about 20 years ago), they looked more individualistic ... probably because most of them were commercial high rises. Now, the many condo towers that are going up are ruining the quality of the skyline. That's my opinion. And they're all similar tall rectangles packed into one clump. I almost think the best view of the skyline is going to and from the Toronto Islands on the ferry. Most people don't even know Toronto has a chain of islands just 15 minutes off of the downtown waterfront. View from the ferry. The fare is fair. I still like Montreal more. I always will. - - - - - Going back to National Donut Day earlier this month, here are some "nostalgia" photos. This was lunch. This was dinner. Because they require you buy a drink (about $2), I don't think Dunkin' lost any money on this deal. Their donuts are a little over a $1. So, then, how much does that tea bag, drip coffee, or iced tea cost them? Not much. I did not feel guilty about going twice. I was just being a goofball that day, anyway. If someone handed you a donut without other stipulations, then it would have truly been a FREE donut. By the way, lunch was better.2 points

I'm looking forward to my second booster in a month or so. I'm trying to go to Europe in September, so I want its effectiveness at its peak when I go. That involves getting the booster 2 weeks to a month in advance. I got Pfizer for the first two vaccine injections. I got Moderna for booster #1 some 9 months later. I was a little worried about Moderna because several people I know passed through a few rough days after Moderna injections. However, I looked at its stats and effectiveness and the pharmacist said that the mixing of the two brands (allowable for boosters) could have some beneficial effects. I got the same headache that evening as I did with Pfizer, and that's it. I will again get Moderna. I have had to test (rapid antigen and PCR) numerous times in the last year and a half - to travel or just because you've gone to urgent care with something that looks like covid. So far, all the tests have turned out favorably.2 points

Cool, Wishing you all the best Robert for your sister and you having a good return on the auction. Agree, the best part is that like you I also will be up for my next booster and both Pfizer and Moderna are saying they will have taken into account the B4 and B5 to help keep us resilient to the newest strains. I just hope that by 2025 this virus burns itself out for the most part like the flu did.1 point

I've got some clean and politically correct ones, which is rare for me and the people I keep company with. Q: Where do fish keep their money? A: At the RiverBank. - - - - - Q: Why are fish so smart? A: They swim in schools.1 point

Saw a very clean mid 70s Mercury Grand Marquis 2dr in dark blue w/ a pumpkin colored 1/2 vinyl top..I've seen '77 Cougars in that color combo, first time I've seen a GM in that color scheme. Saw a very clean and shiny black '82 Mustang GT yesterday. On Friday saw a couple oldies on the interstate...a gray early 50s Olds 4dr sedan and a black late 30s Chevy 2dr coupe street rod.1 point

I am just going to say this. For all of my various physical issues over the years, one of them is not my immune system. It has been like a tank and has kept me from getting sicker than most folks over the decades (have never had Strep, for example). Having said that, I still got both of my Moderna shots and then a booster six months later. Why? Because I am not just thinking of myself here. I am thinking of the people around me like my GF and her autoimmune issues. Just saying.1 point

We didnt win gold that year. (In 2018) We did win bronze. Everyone is a winner, right? At least I dont drive a CUV... Anyway, St Lazare didnt win anything that year because we were the reason they didnt qualify for the medal round. In 2017, they won gold while we won bronze. They were the reason why we played for the bronze medal. In 2019, we beat ourselves and didnt make it to the medal round. They won Gold. In 2020, we could have won Gold but there was no medal tournament. Just games (Covid) and we were the best team in our league. Last year we fell short in qualifying for the medal round. Yup, our final game to qualify for a medal to determine if we play for bronze and we had to beat them. We didnt. They beat us thrusting them to the Gold game. They won gold. If we beat them that game, we would play each other for the bronze....1 point

xcept we also won a couple of times against them. In 2018 as the last time. Just to say we dont always lose to them. That bald dude is me. My daughter is the 5th girl counting left to right. 3 coaches. Myself at the right. Head coach to the right of me and the coach at the far right. This year we are two coaches. Myself and another dad. we both share head coaching. we have a chance to win it all this year, including beating that rascal of a St Lazare team!1 point

I have to wonder if they decided to go with a bigger interior space as Tesla has FAILED IMHO on interior space and has a pathetic Frunk for size. This makes me wonder if they decided to maximize the interior space forgoing a Frunk. The videos I posted it would seem they have kept with using the front end as a storage space for all things electrical, cooling and powertrain. Will be interesting to see how this Ultium Platform evolves. I like the Cashmere interior of my Escalade better than the white. White becomes dirty so fast it seems to me. Better yet, is the warm mocha brown interiors, those are great, warm, inviting and I think look way better than black or white.1 point

I do need to get my 2nd Pfizer booster... a couple weeks ago I was sick and wondered if it might have been the COVID. Had a sore throat, cough, fever, felt really run down for 2-3 days...or just a sinus infection. It came at the end of my week off. I had been to a couple of concerts the previous weekend (mostly masked) and working in the filth and muck of the mud farm, and driving a lot and not getting enough sleep. Two more weeks to go and the horror of mud farming should be over.0 points
