  1. I don't want to completely hijack @Robert Hall's thread so I'll post my recent painting pictures here. We bought our place with some really crappy light blue paint on some walls and we're finally painting over it. I tried stripping it off, because we like red brick and it's blasphemous to paint over...but that didn't go all that well. We don't want to completely cover the walls with black here so I'm just painting the bit of blue that's showing. I have most of this covered but haven't taken a recent picture. I still have a lot to do though. Brick is a pain in @ss to cover. There are SOOOOOO many nooks and cranny's. Maybe, if I remember when I get home, I'll take some updated pictures.

  2. Sherwin Williams, when bought from an actual SW store and not a Big Box, is supposed to be some of the best quality paint around. The price reflects that.

  4. Going with an off-white inside. Sherwin-Williams Navaho White. Some of the rooms are too dark now. My sister’s bedroom is a dark brown, the attic walls purple, my bedroom is dark blue and yellow, what will be my office is dark gray, what will be my hobby room is lt gray.

  5. My sister used Sherwin-Williams on her last 3 houses in AZ, and it's the local company, so comes recommended. Not sure if I will use it when I paint the current house inside, though. Easier to get it painted before moving in. Been doing a lot of work on the current house prior to moving out and selling it...painted the outside last week, some masonry work this week and a new roof this week. Plan to repaint the inside before it's on the market in a few weeks.. So between closing on the new house and projects on both houses, it's been an expensive couple weeks...fun, fun..

  6. When I have time, I like painting my house. Its a lot of work, but I actually enjoy it. Its time though that sometimes I do not have. And even that needs explaination. I can find the time to paint a room or two over a two day break. Its the time to recuperate because it is hard work so when I finish painting a room or two, Ill need to go back to work at the restaurant with no rest and THAT is the killer for me. I hired a painter the last time. 4 years ago. He and his troops (2 others) did my kitchen, and my basement over the course of a week. I simply didnt have the time then. Currently Im envisioning to do the three bedrooms. My daughter's my son's and my wife's. The two kids have grown up and want a change and my wife...well she got jealous of her kids. So...happy wife happy life. But Ill do those. Bedrooms are easier than kitchens. Benjamin Moore and Behr is our choice of paints. I prefer Benjamin Moore although Behr aint too bad for the price either. Sherwin Williams? Maybe I try them this time around. Im not loyal to paint companies. My dad used CIL and SICO back in the day. Both are Canadian.

  8. Somehow...I think Id prefer the barbaric events at the Colosseum than anything Springer, Ricki Lake and Geraldo ever did. Lets not forget early Oprah too. Sheer disgust I have for that kind of television. Seems crazy right? That Id prefer seeing Christians eaten alive by lions, Gladiators brawling to death... Springer and his ilk...a precursor to the shytty, seedy world of the world wide web we have today. I did have several chuckles though, at the cameo appearance he did parodying himself and his show on Austin Powers. In summary. I prefer murder and genocide over greed. Weird how I phrase it but in my mind...it all makes sense!
