In trying to compare a Pure EV to a Petrol auto is this not an Apples to Oranges comparison? I know the ELR is a much closer fit since both ELR and i3 are electric motor driven but 2800 versus 4000 lbs.

Rockin it 4 generations straight! Germans have nothing on this full size bad boy. As an owner of a 2nd generation Escalade ESV Platinum edition, I look forward to upgrading to the 4th next year as is my plan. They just keep making it better all the way around. For those wondering the ESV does seem to increase the leg room in the 3rd row or it could just be my imagination but I do feel for the added length there seems to be more room inside it than in the standard Escalade. Either way you cannot go wrong with these lovely SUV's. Great write up, Question, did you get to test out the Entertainment system in the back? If so what did you think?

This is OutStanding! So Cadillac not only launches a new larger sedan, but then add's a Hybrid at the same time. Guess unlike SMK and his beloved MB with a two years later they had Hybrid, Cadillac decided they needed to have it at the same time. Wonder how long before the coupe and convertible come out. Would be great to have a CT6-Eldorado Hybrid Edition Convertible.

While many academics say to NOT Quote Wikipedia, you are again comparing apples to oranges. You talk v8 HP numbers and how S Class was 389, yet that was only in their high end V12 according to this site. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_S-Class Their standard V8 engine only put out 275hp. The amount of power out of the engine for this Hybrid compared to past engines is amazing and the CT6 is a lean machine compared to the bloated S Class. I agree with Balthazar, let the magazine tests show who is better. I do Love that Cadillac is having a Hybrid at launch with the new CT6. Do not see MB doing this yet.

So very True, FCA figures 20 months could make an auto last that. 20 years, that is another story. I think GM should do this, they could use the platform for the Colorado / Canyon and make a proper auto for them with CNG fueling.

Seattle was loosing way to many old brick buildings to new 21st century looking sky scrapers, so a couple years back they passed a law that if it is an old building and they have a age scale you have to keep so much of it and now in the oldest section of Seattle, they have put up temp steel bracing to hold onto the brick walls and dug out deep to build a 21st century skyscraper with the old 1 to 3 story brick front. They have done a pretty good job of blending the old building with the new. Here is one of the old buildings being rebuilt new from the inside protecting the old outside walls but giving a rise to a stronger better modern building.

Yes, Good Move GM! My wife loves the look of this and asked me if we could add an American EV to the family of auto's when it comes out. She loves things quiet and wants something to just get to work and run errands and home. Small, Cute and efficient. So I figure 2017 a BOLT will enter the family auto group. Excited.
