    That green monstrosity looks just like a Ford Connect. Ignorant question, but does it come from the same factory? To me it sounds like they are too late to the party. So many others have already started production, I just do not see that big of a commercial market for everyone.

    Awesome write up. Very enjoyable reading. I have to say that I like that this car does not have that freakin big ugly black smiling mouth, yet the over all style is bland and to me very uninspiring. The interior is just terrible with the bland dash, Pimple on the center of the steering wheel and then the white type seats that will show all the dirt in the world. Just a terrible job. What is up with everyone thinking the world wants 4 door Coupe style sedans? No headroom and clearly not much room period for big people like me. I suspect this will fit me like my sisters Mazda 6 which means I will not be comfortable in it and could not go on road trips. Looks like they used 5'8" as the average size to build the car for again. One thing noticed is that the fit and finish based on the pictures does look good. I did not find anything out of alignment or to big or small of a gap. Really consistent.

    Saw a brand new 500L on the highway, just came from the dealership. Actually not bad looking considering that I hate the ugly little two door. The 4 door 500L actually look good and usable and not like Shrek squished the top of the car or that a light wind would blow it over. The best looking of the 500 family yet.

    I feel that charter schools and all these alternatives other than out right Private for profit schools are part of the problem, not the fix. Having graduated from public schools and pushed myself hard in the Computer Industry, yes I have enjoyed a great career and am still working tonight so that proves that 16hr-18hr days are not uncommon, but the flexibility is great. Public schools fail due to two large issues: Union Corruption and manipulation Parental lack of drive to drive their kids. My mom was always home till I went to college and then she joined the work force. She was there to make sure my sisters and I got our homework done, did our projects and did the best we could do. Today to many households are caught up in the jones jones race of having all the toys and careers and ignoring their kids to daycare and others. Parenting is a minimum of 20yr commitment to make sure your kids get off on the right foot and at times it means punishing your self to enforce punishing your kids when they do wrong and stay on the road to success. You cannot ignore not being involved in your kids lives.

    Excellent Read, still our teachers are underpaid for preparing and training the future workers of America. It seems most states want to use a general fund rather than actual department funds. Money that was supposed to go to schools or to roads go into the general fund and then get spent on other things. We need to put in place term limits, reduce the socializing of making people dependent on a gov hand out and properly compensate those that train the future work force of America. If we can start a computer Engineer at $75K a year, why do teachers have to start at $35K? Go to year round schooling with 3 months on, 1 month off so that kids remember their education better.

    Great Review for your first one. Nice pic's, Love your Dusty image of the car, that was well done. Question how do you feel it compares to the VW choices? What would be your top 3 must improve items? What would make it better for the around town short trip auto?

    G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - CheersandGears.com Racing Hybrid or Not? The question of the day would make one wonder if I was nuts. Can hybrids be the new Racing formula? We have plenty of new hybrids on the market to show that nothing is off limits, but does it really make sense and in AWD form to boot? Toyota is prepped, locked and loaded to show off at the Frankfurt motor show the Yaris Hybrid-R. This three door Yaris comes packed with a 1.6L turbo four-cylinder driving the front wheels and a 60hp electric motor on the rear wheels. Yet the engineers did not stop there as they added a third electric motor between the six-speed transmission and engine. This allows it to act as an advanced traction control that shifts power to the rear wheels when the front wheels cannot handle any more. The total system peaks at 414hp. One new aspect to hybrid is the lack of a traditional battery. In the place of the battery according to Toyota information it is using a SuperCapacitor. This allows for faster discharge of the power to the rear electric motors including a burst mode for five second boosts of full energy. While Toyota is a popular car company, they have not been known as a muscle car or performance car company and it would appear that this Yaris Hybrid-R is an attempt to change the youth and performance driven drivers.     The exterior is just plain ugly. Predators ugly baby. The interior is just plain blah. Did anyone actually try to have style or even to have some decent design language? I would fire the person who created this monstrosity.

    Local Fiat dealer Fiat of Kirkland http://www.fiatofkirkland.com/ has tons on the lot and are doing a end of summer blow out sale to try and get them moving. They just do not sell. 149 in stock according to the web site but across the street from them is their holding pen on a vacant lot and this morning I counted over 100 there alone. I suspect they have closer to 200+ in stock and a truck was waiting to unload more. Fiat 500 = failure in the Pacific Northwest.

    High schools need to bring back auto-shop so that kids can learn how to wrench on a auto. There are many excellent options for a fun first time auto, yet the current High School crowd is very much part of the Entitlement problem we have. They do not want to work very hard for something nice and they seem to be to out of shape to actually do hard work.

    Ford has destroyed Lincoln with their platinum line of auto's. There really is no luxury in Lincoln when you have the Ford units equal of better than what Lincoln can offer. At this point, better to be a Buick/Chrysler competitor and reboot the brand completely than to try and live in a fantasy world of so called luxury that does not exist.

    I would get an automotive stethoscope and craw under it and start probing to see if it is coming from the engine or tranny. It might be worth it to take it to a good tranny shop and have them review the tranny to see if the issue is there. I know the place by me does excellent assessments and have been honest with telling me when it is nothing in the tranny but an actual engine issue. This could help you deduce the point of noise faster if you can remove a major component from the problem. To me I am thinking tranny based on your videos. Something is slowly dying and the noise seems to come when you put the power of the engine against the tranny. One thought, crawl underneath and have someone move from drive to neutral and listen to the tranny and check the drive line and see if the noise shows up better.

    I challenge the need for the license plate and stickers. If states wanted to reduce costs, they could easily go to a standardized bar code plate on the rear of cars and all the officer has to do is have their window cam scan the plate and tell them if the license was paid for that year and if there is any other issues with the plate/car/owner. This would reduce the stickers and need for coming up with plates. Yes you could still have custom name plates, but most I think would care less about the plate and just pay their yearly fees. You could take this one step farther and get rid of the plate all together and just go with a GPS tracker that must be installed on all auto's but then the Privacy Freaks would scream bloody murder that the gov has their tracking info even though they already do with cell's, nav's, Onstar etc. Think of it as an RFID tag for each car that a police officer can scan for when pulling you over.
