  1. LOL stealing a Oldsmobile tag line I see, was it the early 90's that they use the tag "This is not your dads Oldsmobile!"
  2. I have no problem with hybrid or electric powerplants as that is the future to deliver performance and better mileage, but shrinking a car down and still calling it a Z is just wrong. Going smaller and trying to say it is the same as the outgoing model is not the right marketing thing to do and I think this will backfire in their face.
  3. I think we are going to be in interesting times over the next 10yrs as auto companies roll out a new generation of hybrid performance auto's. I think we will see a whole new industry around performance electric motors, Performance electric batter packs, performance electric enhancements period. Who ever has the time and money to invest now will rule this market as it continues to mature. Performance step up converters, performance capacitors, etc........
  4. step in the right direction by attacking the issue rather than deigning it like Ford has done before plus many others.
  5. bobo are you sure in how they are purchased as I have never heard that they had a no haggle price. Here in Washington you haggle on their price like anything else.
  6. Balthazar I do see your point and I think some will be confused by this marking. I think Cadillac has done a far better choice by having their CTS, CTS Sport and CTS V editions. This clearly tells you, you have gone from bottom to mid to top in their auto line up.
  7. Auto looks dated like Drew stated, 90 era concept station wagon to me. EXCITEMENT for a versatile platform but otherwise need to update the looks.
  8. Oil Well
  9. If customers are willing to bank roll it, then why not. Be interesting to see what a half million dollar SUV would be. Right now the images at The Truth About Cars looks like a station wagon on steroids more than an SUV.
  10. Safe and Reliable???? You have seen their ton of recalls the last 5 years surpassing GM or any other company? They make a competitive auto, boring and conservative but they wanted GM's crown of being the biggest and right now, the quality of their auto's leaves a lot to be considered. Far better options out there than Toyota.
  11. This is needed for a mid level convertible and will sell well for the first 3-5 years and then tapper off once the convertible demand is met. Adam is a no brainer as that is also needed in a mid luxury level that people want especially if they offer an awd version of it.
  12. ignition
  13. It is time for Toyota to set a standard for the TRD division of true sports/performance models. I think every auto company should have a performance division to give select models a sports/performance version. Example is CTS, CTS Sport, CTS V. I am happy to see they are doing something, this will be good for competition.
  14. G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - CheersandGears.com Car Wars 2013-2016 CarWars2013-2016.PDF The automotive Product pipeline for the US Market. While this report came out last year, there is some interesting assumptions / analysis made by Bank of America and Merrill Lynch. This report starts off with the basic background and thesis along with industry trends and then dives into company analysis, expected market share shifts, implications for suppliers to dealers and the all mighty conclusion. What was interesting to note is the expected decline in market share by Korean manufactures while Japan stays pretty much the same and US grows. They do see that product activity while having slowed due to the depression we are just now pulling out of is showing signs that imply an 18.5% rate of replacement each year. Ford and GM are expected to have the highest rate of product refresh out of all auto companies. What I felt was missing is the AGE component of buyers versus leasors. I think this really tells allot about a company when you know the average age for a product segment. This is clearly missing from this report. Over all very interesting to review. I wonder what others will think?
  15. ONLY 11 USB ports? Are they USB 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0? At least they now realize how important charging of personal electronics are. Now to get laptop vendors to realize that they need to support plugging in a laptop via a USB port for running/charging. Interesting observation in what Hyper has stated is that more woman were driving the GMC last generation and men the Chevy based on a poll done here in my state as to what gender of people drive full size suv's by the auto association. I wonder if this will flip to men moving to GMC and Woman back to Chevy?
  16. Dwight it was some of the product, but with quality where it is now, auto companies do not need alternative Product lines to win customers. Build quality products that strike a passion in the public and you will have sales. I do not think Toyota needs this product line for making money. They pretty much have everything covered by Toyota or Lexus. Just kill it off and focus the R&D dollars on the two main product lines.
  17. I see this release as being equal to the last one. So many myself included loved the Chevy look but hated the too female look on the Yukon. Now they have gone two Female on the Chevy and finally gave what should have been on the Yukon, a butch, male tough look. Very Terrain but full size and done excellent in my opinion.
  18. That would explain the chunkyness I'm seeing. Did you get any direct rear shots of the Tahoe? Any of this wiper assembly? Where was the Yukon revealed? Was it at a media event like the Tahoe/Suburban? Very true what they say about personal opinion as I do not see a Chunkyness in the rear at all. I see a normal wind deflector that as Drew says covers the rear window wiper but also I would assume pushes air down over the glass like 3rd party add on's have done for years to help keep the glass clearer.
  19. I agree with you Drew, iTunes interface is Junk. Syncing my Android phone with my music is easy and clean and I put it where I want it not where it is dictated by an over bearing monster.
  20. LOL - You really have been drinking the APPLE KOOLAID. The proof is in the sales that Android / Samsung make better and sell more phones. Personal opinion on the look and feel as the Apple has always felt like they cut corners compared to Samsung phones but again a personal feeling compared to you feeling the opposite. In regards to the whole ITunes thing, their approach is to make things simple but they went to far to make them none usable to many people myself included as I find their interface to be non intuitive and iTunes to me just sucks. Much easier for how I use my Samsung phone. The Phablet is not for everyone but for those of us that are big, 6'6"tall with big hands, the Samsung is small and perfect. I hate how small phones are and that the touch screens are usless when typing as I hit multiple keys. Apple iPhones are the worst as typing on them is just garbage but again I am probably twice your size at 6'6" tall 300lgs. 15% body fat. I love the bigger phones that meet my needs. Something Apple does not do.
  21. Chevy interior is nice, but the nose on the Chevy's is just ugly to me. I do not like the headlights and the over all nose is just a turn off. GMC is the winner this time. Elegant, Butch, Manly, the over all style goes with the product line. Have a Terrain vibe that I just dig. Last evolution Chevy won hands down, but this time the Girly Yukon is gone and in it's place is a mans man SUV. GMC seems to have given this a Semi truck type look that is just awesome! Be it Denali or lower level this is a hands down winner. One concern I do have is that the interior on both looks like the center console has gotten fatter cutting into leg room and comfort. The seats from the photo's look narrow. I really hope not but they do.
  22. I just replaced my 6 year old DELL. Wish I could have gotten another one, but DELL lost out on SPEC and PRICE to Lenovo. I now have a nice shiny W530 with i7 vPro and 16gb ram. Dual 27" monitors on the docking station. Dual SSD drives. runs fast and is just solid. Very happy with it. I agree that DELL or Lenovo you cannot go wrong.
  23. LOL, Apple Iphone 5S still has not caught up to the Samsung S4. Android is just eating Apples lunch. Love it.
  24. AWESOME!!!! I wonder if our story and images on the awesome little monster played any part. I hope so as what Drew had done was very cool indeed.
  25. Sounds Like Toyota's Version of Pontiac/Saturn. Just kill it off and move on. It was a failure.
