  1. Yes I would agree that this building with a proper interior remodel and an exterior cleaning fresh up would have plenty of potential as a modern Caddy dealership.
  2. Or as I have seen here in Seattle, have a custom tube frame made for the car with the suspension you want for the ecotec engine you want and put the Opel GT body on it.
  3. GMTruckGuy, Nice indeed. Ocn, why not take the truck back to the repair shop and have them make it right?
  4. Wow you must have learned old school with the heel on the brake while appling gas. In a level parking lot, release the brake and apply gas and slowly release the clutch so it slips and you get forward motion. Practice going in and out of gears as you $h! from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and back down. Get a feel for how the clutch grabs. The transition needed to get moving without killing the engine. Trust me, it is not that hard nor will you burn out the clutch learning to drive a manual. This is where I feel we need to increase the level of Drivers ed an ALL students MUST learn to drive a manual tranny. Mud, I like the review, looking forward to pics and hearing more about the car. Trust me, driving a manual is not hard, it is just time behind the wheel getting a feel for the transition of shifting. My 98 Dodge Dakota has 250K miles, survived 2 kids and a wife learning to drive and my original clutch finally went out at 157k miles. So I know you can learn with out burn!
  5. Isuzu still is one of the worlds biggest Diesel engine makers and suppliers from what I understand. Since Isuzu built to GM spec the Duramax, it would only make sense for GM to tie up with them again for access to their very large portfolio of Patents in regards to diesel technology.
  6. I could understand this if it was not for the fact that allot of people do not have the best memories of this car. With GM having owned so many other car companies, they are sitting on a ton of new / Old names. That is why I think they could pull something out of the Pontiac/Oldmobile/ older current names. New/Old Auto Names Chevy Torpedo Chevy BelAir Chevy Firebird Chevy Skylark Chevy Cutlass Chevy Hellcat I think the name used will be older than 10-15 years old from the history bins.
  7. I think I failed to clarify my point. The A.J. needs to state the facts along with what the auto company is wanting or thinking they have achieved. This gives the reader a straight forwad approach of what the product is. Then follow this up with a Fact based editorial that is clearly including the persons opinion. I am totally fine with this as long as they at least give the product a chance to stand on it's own legs before tearing into it.
  8. Yea, the autoshows here are more about the modern pickup with Technology than having anything to do with old commercial trucks. They usually have a small section of old custom pickup trucks and that is it. Maybe this is due to the history of the area on the west coast is not as old as the east coast.
  9. Both are very nice rdes, I do love the Black edition model of the ram.
  10. Yes, one of my pet peaves is that auto Journalism does not stay neutral. Like Consumers Report, A.J. seems to have it's good moments and some very terrible moments. They need to focus on the latest product and be neutral so as to allow the viewers to make a decision, do not make it for them.
  11. Good Road trip on old roads is always awesome.
  12. Have a safe trip, we look forward to seeing the pictures and hearing all about it.
  13. Relatives right to spoil the kids. Leave the rest to the parents to clean up!
  14. I think everyone needs a good ol reliable auto for work, daily use etc. Then for those of us that have a love affair with the car world, we should have our pet projects that drive us crazy
  15. It is still stupid IMHO that they are selling full size trucks for prices that used to be covered by Mini Trucks. There is over lap that does not need to be there especially since not everyone needs a full size. The mini truck market could easily take care of most home owners. I remember Toyota having their 1 ton mini truck and thought GM needs to do this also so people with house projects could still haul and not have to use up so much space. Full size for those that really need the space and businesses that need a truck to last a good long time. Build it Tough, build it Professionl Grade and know that your 30K full size truck can take a pounding and still be solid 5 years from now. Interesting times we are living in.
  16. This is exciting as no one seems to have seen any new Name filing with the pattent office so I must assume the name will be new, but old. One they already have the rights to use but has not been in use for the last 10 years or longer. Wonder if this car could be a new Beretta or GTO? Looking at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_General_Motors I have to assume the name will be something from their history bin. Anyone have a complete list of Auto Names for GM? Forbes has a interesting story on Weirdest, worst and best names in the auto industry. Not sure I totally agree with them. http://www.forbes.com/2004/07/12/cx_dl_0712feat.html
  17. I do agree that Manuals have their place and should be offered across a range of models rather than just the base level eco appliance.
  18. DodgeFan, sounds like the cars in Demolition man. Drive when you want and auto drive when you do not.
  19. Have to disagree with you, the V series should always be luxury Performance, no just Luxury. Otherwise you dilute the Brand. People think of V as performance with a touch of Luxury and that is where it should stay be it having a Turbo 4 or Turbo v6 I am sorry I was not awake whe I typed this. I should have stated the V should be more Luxury and sports. In my mind the V should be the car that is no options and the full load of features performance and luxury. The Turbo can be performance and ala cart luxury. The V6 can be more Luxury and ala cart Performance. I hope this clears up my intentions now that I am awake. LOL! Drink that Energy Drink!
  20. This is a liimited gain as you see it was 2007 when it hit it's peak. This is all those people who are needing to replace their old Manual cars (5 years old) with new ones. I expect this to grow this year but cool off next year.
  21. 2012 Chevy Equinox in black, blacked out windows, Powder coated black rims with v6. Very cherry of a ride.
  22. So many options, so many choices. So many pricing options.
  23. Only record store that I am aware of is in Downtown Seattle.
  24. Classic truck shows on the west coast is all about pickup trucks, I have never seen big iron at them here.
