  1. Thanks, the story did not identify that they were building their own. Since they used Ford engines for so long and their own engines are not known to be reliable, I mad the assumption they were taking a German I6 which would make sense over building their own except as you stated. Thanks again for that info.
  2. Thank you Drew, Did not know that. Bummer about the CT6, could you have the driveway regraded as a cheaper alternative?
  3. All the stupid safety Nanny devices probably.
  4. As excited as I was when this car came out, I was totally disappointed in it when I saw it at the Seattle Auto show and just not myself but average size people had a hard time fitting in it and the amount of questions all focused on why just a black interior and why just all hard plastic, why does it feel and look so cheap was pretty much a doom from the beginning. This was a great idea, but poorly executed car that will always fail to live up to what was expected.
  5. I6 had their day, V6 has their day now and Electric is the future. I see no reason to waste good money on building a new I6 when they will all be replaced with electric motors. Land Rover is buying the I6 from another company either BMW or MB probably and will then help reduce that companies R&D expense. No reason at all for GM to waste millions if not billions to build one.
  6. A.I. is the hot new Job market, gotta start out empty and learn.
  7. But was the body still 100% in tact or rust holes everywhere. I hear the Salt Brine there loves to eat auto's for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
  8. Pictures confirm 8 exhaust per side, makes me think it has dual V8 engines based on the info on the website, but clearly no other information to confirm this. Dual V8's tied together is very cool.
  9. These prices are right inline with current electric bikes here in the States and in Europe. Benefit of the GM eBike is that it has class leading Torque and a cell phone holder with USB and Bluetooth. Now celebrating 10 years here in Seattle, you can compare and see that the prices are inline with what GM is selling them for in the 3 largest European market. https://www.seattleelectricbike.net/ A number of US eBike dealers are willing to import this bike for those that are interested.
  10. MEH, so complex, so expensive to maintain and repair. Give me an Electric power train over this mess.
  11. Weird, just checked and their story from this morning is gone. Bummer, it was funny and good I thought.
  12. I think he meant that more Taxis will be made then!
  13. U'mmmm How does that look like this?
  14. Maybe the EV gods are playing with you!
  15. Agree, this is a better looking truck than the ugly mess of the all new Chevrolet truck.
  16. Cadillac did this on their Instagram story for smartphones too. Very funny!
  17. I would be more excited about this statement from MB if they actually released the actual sales data to better understand.
  18. Add me in there as I like the looks of the Gladiator, course a Rivian or Atlis or GM built EV Pickup would win me over the Gladiator.
  19. GM Press release is interesting that they did it from their Canada site and not the US site. https://media.gm.ca/media/ca/en/gm/home.detail.html/content/Pages/news/ca/en/2019/Feb/0214-ariv.html Did not know that while Oshawa has lost manufacturing jobs, GM opened their Urban mobility division there. http://www.thedetroitbureau.com/2019/02/general-motors-new-ebikes-have-arived/
  20. Very cool since I posted the story about the bike and the naming contest that they have moved forward with the official name and more detials. Very cool, I can actually see many in the HighTech Community buying this.
  21. This is also how a long time GM customer since 1993 from my own pocket, from the 60's if I include all the GM auto's my parents have owned stays with them. Invest in Rivian with the right to use the skateboard platform for Chevrolet and GMC Full size 1/2 ton pickups. Do it now and just enjoy all the purchases they will have in a year.
  22. Interesting, thanks for the info. As you said back on subject, I think one of the biggest mistakes of not just GM but any auto company is when they show off a concept that is a performance version then only release an entry level to premium version and then say a performance will come in a year or two. Marketing is where GM and Ford has FAILED. Managing expectations is very important and they can be successful in showing off a premium concept and delivering said concept that has people excited. Then surprise a year or two later deliver a performance which we all know will sell in limited numbers. Honestly if we look at the Success of the CTS, they showed off the CTS and then built it, then surprised everyone with a CTS-V. This is and has been the proper way to do it. Not like the Vibe Turbo Performance concept and then only deliver a mundane product with nothing special at launch. Cadillac needs to use the same approach on marketing the CTS and then CTS-V with the WHOLE Cadillac family and let it Roar!
  23. I always thought the Matrix was just a rebadged, nose job Vibe. My understanding is GM did most of the lifting on the project.
  24. We'll Germany did start two world wars and had plenty of asshole lemmings to follow the First and 3rd Reich. Then I digress and we are here to debate auto's. I agree with @balthazar BMW must have signed a 50 year contract as even today they have those damn rubber black steering wheels in everything. ?‍♂️
  25. Would you consider a CPO for $35K? Seems many of the expensive trucks that Ford, Ram and GM are making and selling are ending up on lots for half the price once the lease is over. So their $70K crewcab pickups are about $35K with about 36K miles on them. So these electric pickups if they follow the same trend and no reason not too will end up being about half price.
