Green car report was able to go to New Jersey and at Jaguars North America HQ get to drive the I-Pace and see what it is all about. I will say this is very exciting as they say it has the interior space of their full size XJ sedan. Good read. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1116036_2019-jaguar-i-pace-brief-first-drive-of-all-electric-luxury-crossover

Rumorpile: Tesla To Halt Model 3 Production for Six Days
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
Robots are not the only problem, I would clearly point out the extensive multi panel pieces of the body of the car and the extensive manual assembly of key components. Clearly Tesla needs to also listen to what the rest of the auto industry has already figured out on how to build the body and other key components to quickly assemble their auto's.- 27 replies

EV Charging NorthEast Strategy Electrify America, the multi billion dollar investment in the US charging infrastructure turned on their first fast charging station in Massachusetts as part of their 4 year investment in North America not including their $800 million California investment. EA will be building out an extensive network of fast charging stations that will support people wanting to go on road trips with efficient, fast and reasonable charging of their EV auto's from coast to coast. Up till now, while the northeast states have signed onto California's move to a cleaner auto environment, the installation of charging stations have been haphazard at best and leaving EV auto owners looking at a road trip equal to the early 1900's before gas stations were on every corner. The Northeast Corridor Regional Strategy has brought together the following states and districts in putting together an extensive detailed roadmap on how the money will be invested to allow charging at Destination Locations, on the road, around town, at work and home. Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. These 11 states and 1 district came up with the following overarching issues: They then worked out and defined the recommendations for the following charging use cases: This group has successfully come up with a strategy that covers from 2018 to 2021 from interoperability, regulations, up time, pricing to low-income and disadvantaged communities. This strategy is a clear road map to the successfully implement a charging station roadmap of installations to marketing and awareness. Anyone who is wondering how we will flip over from ICE auto's to EV auto's will see here that a major EV station push is coming that will benefit everyone including attracting tourism by making roadtrip fun and easy in an EV auto. northeast-regional-charging-strategy-2018.pdf

@Cubical-aka-Moltar That RAM SUV totally rocks. Makes ya wonder why RAM has not done something sooner. Course then we have the CUV/SUV's of the past. Makes ya wonder how long before a Camaro or Mustang CUV will come out when we had a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am Concept like this:

Volvo News: Next Volvo S60 To Not Come With A Diesel Engine
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Volvo
This totally makes sense that Hybrids are a stepping stone to full EV auto's. I do think that Kia might have hit the Nail on the Head in having a Diesel Hybrid. Will be interesting to see what the MPG is for that hybrid in comparison to the petro hybrids that Volvo puts out. -
Daimler EQ EV Onslaught of Trademarks Daimler filed this week multiple trademarks on top of a large amount at the end of last week in regards to their EQ electric auto line up. This also covers the EQC which is for the electric crossover versions. Seems according to Wolfgang Wurth, we will see an EQA, EQB, EQE and EQS in the car lineup. Then we have the EQC lineup of Crossovers. Then you have the latest filing for a new AMG Performance Unit which is clearly defined as an Electric vehicle. Daimler also has like BMW stated they will have wireless charging pads that can charge 100 kilometers every 5 minutes which is 62 miles for those understanding standard only. This means a 20 min to recharge the 400 kilometer or 248 miles battery pack. Yet with this news of Daimlers world wide push on the EV front with their EQ product line you have the opposite news from Fortune that Chery auto manufacturing of China has filed a complaint with the Chinese trademark office about Mercedes-benz use of the EQ as it is too similar to their eQ that they have used for the last couple of years. If Chinese trademark bars Daimler from using the EQ name in China, this could throw wrinkles in Daimlers plan to have a world wide EQ EV auto brand that is global and not end up having to deal with multiple names. The future is a disruptive one that will be interesting to watch as we truly hit a global platform of selling products. Justia Trademarks site The Drive Story Daimler EQ site Fortune Story

Saw this GMC Truck on the way home yesterday. In pretty decent shape for it's age, sad it has the door dent. Clearly still used as a daily driver.

Origin of VW 'people's car' pre-dates Hilter/Porsche...
G. David Felt replied to balthazar's topic in Volkswagen
LOL, One thing I have learned is when reading, put yourself in the place of how common people would react to the story. As such, I also tend to respond to see how others will react as it is an interesting observation of people. In this case, in today's society, many are wanting to jump on the sue train right away. As such, it is interesting to see how others react as one learns much from the reactions. I totally agree with Balthazar that it is too late for sueing, too late for I think anyone to be held accountable and yet with that, we have seen relatives of past family members sue still and I have to wonder if such an act would follow based on info coming out like this. Many people who had relatives / family members hurt in WWI and WWII up to modern day wars have come back to sue. Seems to be a way for some to get something for nothing. -

Leave it to the craziness of people and lawyers, I am sure they could find someway to sue VW and the German Gov. Does not mean it would go anywhere in regards to payout of any money, but correcting history or at least bringing it to peoples attention so they know what was going on makes sense. -

I can so see Hitler stealing this from a Jew. He hated them as they were smarter than him. Instead he went on to be the world's worst dictator. Would be good for the Ganz family to sue and get proper recognition. -
I would take a 350 - 400 HP CUV GS Buick over the Wagon or Sportback.

honda hybrid cars Honda Hybrid Cars - Failure or Smart Move?

Yup, very ugly. One reason I really hope that the Japanese Solid State batteries that do not use cobalt get into production ASAP. The Toyota led group could really change things up with not needing cobalt.- 6 replies

Polarizing and expensive for a average 3 door car. I think better deals are out there over this. -

According to Autoblog, Honda started production of their 2019 Insight Hybrid car. This will be slotted between the Civic and Accord Hybrid. This brings the Honda family of Green Cars to the following 5 models: Clarity Fuel Cell Clarity Electric Clarity Plug-In Hybrid Insight Hybrid Accord Hybrid These are all cars in the age of CUVs & SUVs. Does it make sense for Honda to be building all these new car models when the newest Honda Accord is sitting on the lots with 104 day supply at the end of March and now at over 145 day supply Honda is idling for 2 weeks the 4,200 employees at the Marysville Ohio plant. This is in comparison to the average of just 70 days for all other car models out for sale. EPA rating are not out yet, but Honda expects to get 55 mpg equal to the Toyota Prius and hyundai Ioniq for City driving and no word on Highway driving. Does it make sense that Honda is continuing to invest in cars at a time that the public is ignoring them as they move to trucks / CUVs / SUVs? Autoblog story

Gambling and Alcohol addiction go hand in hand. But NO I enjoy a glass of Wine on the weekends and have nothing against it. Not a prude like the Amish or other bible thumping groups that also bash Alcohol. I realize it has destroyed many lives just like gambling. Unlike gambling online that is affecting many youths, you cannot drink Alcohol on the internet.
