  1. Fruit is getting rotten, that is why!
  2. Bolt with Seats up are 16.9 cubic feet seats down 94.4 cubic feet of space Ioniq EV seats up 23.8 cubic feet seats down 96.2 cubic feet of space Bolt over all length = 164 inches Ioniq overall length = 176 inches. Understandable that the Ioniq has a bit more cargo space.
  3. Yet with lease focused companies like MB and BMW, you can get so called luxury auto's cheap and the lower income folks tend to go that route to pretend they have money rather than look at the entry level auto's. In some ways the 90%+ leasing of certain models by certain brands (german) has created a problem with a glut of auto's in the cpo market and expectations of why should I accept an entry level auto when I can squeeze the payments to have a luxury ride.
  4. Wonder if since Toyota owns them if they are not using a Toyota Modular platform. @Drew Dowdell Do you know if they are?
  5. Yumm, Agreed, any delicious red wine with it?
  6. Nice, always good to see them focused on improving them.
  7. Weird, have not seen that issue yet, knock on wood.
  8. No big deal, Not a fan of the bunker looking auto the longer it has been on the market.
  9. Seattle already is snowy and frozen, more later this week.
  10. Everything is working fine for me.
  11. Wonder if they will use the BOLT platform, I think not or build their own EV platform.
  12. And you're still a young Pup! Early HAPPY BIRTHDAY Drew!!!
  13. I doubt Tesla will even be at 3000 a week by the end of January.
  14. Very interesting EV Concept. Have to say I have mixed feeling about this. Maybe with Turning 50 I just look for more practice applications rather than an overpriced race car. Who knows, still an interesting concept.
  15. I turn 50 this year, Nov 27th. Still feel in my 30's
  16. Too late, Saudia Arabia already gave citizenship to the first AI human. http://www.businessinsider.com/meet-the-first-robot-citizen-sophia-animatronic-humanoid-2017-10 Interesting reading and will scare many who fear AI.
  17. Local News reporting 1.4 Million BMW Auto's Recalled for Fire. According to the local news, BMW anounced today that they are recalling 1.4 million cars and cuv/suv's in America due to potential fire and that all owners should leave them outside till the repair is done. 740,000 cover the following models 328i, 328xi, 328i xDrive, 525i, 525xi, 528i, 528xi, 530i, 530xi, X3 3.0si, X3 xDrive30i, X5 xDrive30i, Z4 3.0i, Z4 3.0si, Z4 sDrive30i these auto's being from 2007 to 2011. 128i from 2008-2011 also included. Stated all are the V6 models. 673,000 covers the following models 323i, 325i, 325xi, 328i, 328xi, 330i, 330xi, 335i, 335xi and M3 from 2006 to 2011. 328i xDrive, 335i xDrive and 335is for 2007 to 2011. 335d for 2009 to 2011. The problem is that underrated wiring according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration used on the AC and Heater systems can overheat, causing the connectors to melts and start the auto on fire even when the auto is unattended. BMW has agreed to have their dealers replace the wiring and connectors free of charge. BMW says out of concern for their customers and in an abundance of caution they will implement the NHTSA recommended recall. Have to say, if this is a problem here in the US, what about the rest of their auto's around the world. Sounds like some serious shortcuts for profits.
  18. Yes, this was part of the 140 coupes they created I believe.
  19. I understand what you are saying, look at it from the marketing angle. A web site that allows people to play with a concept as if it is real and asks you to join the mailing list to show your interest and support. Allows an OEM to gauge if there is enough interest to move forward with a real concept.
  20. Yet just as people say they would buy an EV but are concerned about the short range of battery packs, same with ICE auto's, People want 200-300 mile range so they do not have to worry about running out of power. In regards to the tax credit, yes once they hit their magic number, it then reduces down. The credit begins to phase out for vehicles at the beginning of the second calendar quarter after the manufacturer has sold 200,000 eligible plug-in electric vehicles (i.e., plug-in hybrids and EVs) in the United States as counted from January 1, 2010. IRS will announce when a manufacturer exceeds this production figure and will announce the subsequent phase out schedule (Plug-In Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit Quarterly Sales). http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/taxevb.shtml https://www.irs.gov/businesses/plug-in-electric-vehicle-credit-irc-30-and-irc-30d https://www.afdc.energy.gov/laws/409 https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/individuals/plug-in-electric-drive-vehicle-credit-section-30d Hopefully all the various agencies all stating the same thing is enough info about the phase out of EV auto credit once 200,000 are sold. Not sure why it is so difficult for peeps in DC to understand the benefits of the program.
  21. True, it is fake but then it is also the ultimate marketing strategy to see what the public says and what GM's response would be too it. Interesting the stories that have been written up on this and the interview with the marketing creator. http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-technology/news/a29071/chevrolet-jolt-sports-car/ http://gmauthority.com/blog/2016/05/someone-created-a-fake-website-for-a-chevrolet-jolt-ev-sports-car-and-its-awesome/ http://gm-volt.com/2016/05/06/sadly-chevy-jolt-ev-website-is-fake/ https://www.autoblog.com/2016/05/04/chevy-jolt-ev-sportscar-hoax/ https://www.theverge.com/2016/5/4/11592830/chevy-jolt-electric-car-fake We'll I get you would not buy it, yet with that said, it is interesting to see the amount of tweets by people that say they would like it. Makes me wonder how hard it would be to take the Chevy Bolt platform and put a car body on it?
  22. We could also say that since people do not drive hundreds of miles a day then why do they need to have 18 gallon gas tanks, 28, 32, 44 or 50 gallon size tanks. Might as well just make them all 5 or 10 gallon size tanks at most since you can just stop more often at your local gas station.
  23. Surprised no one has actually commented on this or gone to the web site, played with it and then commented.
  24. Very Excited to hear this, I hope they start with an EV Envision. That would be an awesome EV CUV!
