The Auto Enthusiast Appeal
Hudson has a point about old cars not attracting the youth. Think about it, who really wants to remember the K-Car or any of the other cheap ass 80 and early 90's cars. Hell even the mid to late 70's were pretty ugly and non-inspirational auto's. Today youth like my son looks at the STI, WRX, Evo, Cobalt, Retro Mustang, R35 and this is what kids are into. They can look at the 60's and early 70's and see great road machines, but for the last 30 years auto's have sucked pretty much except for the rare machine like the early 90's monte carlo, the Impala SS of the mid 90's, the GMC syclone and typhoon. There are those rare glimps where you could find amazing machines, but the cost are just too high now adays. Auto Clubs will grow in some areas and die in others. Based on the cost of things this will tend to bring more and more seperation between the have and have nots that can really afford auto"s. We will have to strive to keep the memory alive so that it does not burn out and die.

TCC: New Acadia Spy Pics!
This looks like a test mule to me, I think there is still plenty of change to come. At least I hope so as this is generic and just a clone stamp job otherwise.

GM Bans Dealer Premiums on Saturn Sky Red Line
I went last night and looked at a fully loaded Charger SRT8, 43K MSRP. Drove it and loved the car. Really roomy and just flys. Sales person then upon returning to the dealer ask's me if I would like to sit down and talk. Sure, what is the best price off MSRP your willing to start at. Sales person say's due to these being limited production and special cars, the actual price is 53K + 395 for the sealant they put on the auto. I got up and told him with gas prices the way they are, people like me willing to buy a auto that sucks up gas is more rare than his car. Since he thinks I am stupid and will pay over MSRP, clearly they do not want to sell a car. I paused to give him a chance to change and say something like let me talk to the sales manager about the price. NOPE, he says I am missing the exclusive nature of owning a limited vehicle and plenty of people will pay what they ask to own this car. That must be it, I am missing something and I walked out and got into my CTS and drove away. Boy talk about stupid sales people.

Next Honda Accord
This is the same Jelly Bean Crap look that GM had that everybody bashed in the 90's. Course being Honda people will think it is manna from above. What allot of Crap, just tinny junk like all asian cars and not built for real americans. Wish people would wake up and stop trying to force big people in coffin cars.

"We Are Listening"
I asked them to show the baby in real world situations. Would love it with a V8 and pulling a boat, camping, going to the ocean, mountain Biking. etc. The Auto Rocks but we now need to see it with other colors and out and about.

GM ponders small global crossovers
Why Bother. I for one at 275lb and 6'6" will never waste money on these auto's. Build a fuel efficent auto that fits real americans and stop trying to shove a big guy into a tiny death trap built for a small asian person. If they want to sell coffins, then build them and sell them 3rd world, Europe or asia. No need to waste bringing it here.

2007 GMC Canyon changes

We'll I can say that my 05 CTS I got for the wife is awesome. Being a full loaded CTS it has been great. No problems so far for 12 months and 20K miles driven. Course I am very excited by what I see here for the new CTS. This should just continue to help drive and cemet Caddilac as the best luxury auto group.

Edmunds: 2006 Buick Lucerne Full Test
Interesting all the complaining about GM Seat Heaters, My CTS :smilies-38096: was just right on the driver side, but the passenger side was a burner, I had caddy look at it and they replaced the heater and wow, now a nice warm high and a keep warm low, no more bun burner. I agree that edmunds is overly critical of this car. They seem to have japan up the ass for love of their life.

GM Exec Slams Consumer Reports
As a Happy America only auto Owner, GM, Ford and Chrysler needs to slap the media for their stupidity. They should have adds showing those of us that have many great old American Auto's. My 1994 GMC Suburban, 250K + now with a new engine but otherwise the best rig I have ever owned. My 2005 CTS still rocks even as I approach 20K miles. My 1998 Dodge Dakota Truck with 100K on it also is just damn Solid. CR seems to also forget that their love affair with Japan is just out of wack due to the cramped inside, lack of leg room for a second person sitting behind a large person and over all lack of quality in the interior plastic BS. My sister in law has a 1999 Honda Civic, this auto has been in for more recall work and warrenty repairs than any american auto I have ever owned. Plus when will they realize not all Americans are 175LB or less and under 5'8". Us 270 6'6" tall guys need room and that is still also expecting people to fit in behind me when I drive. CR once again is on the Clueless Bandwagon.

Saab may build the next Astra
About damn time Gm got real about Diesels and brought quality Diesel engines to the market. GM could have had another sale to me but with the new suburban not having Diesel, no reason to update my very clean and still running strong Suburban I have. Really wanted a new suburban with the Duramax and Allison 6 speed tranny.

Cadillac BLS In Depth
BRING IT TO THE STATES, MY SISTER IN LAW WOULD LOVE IT. MANY PEOPLE WOULD LIKE A SMALLER 4 DOOR THAN THE CTS. IT WOULD SELL I THINK

Cadillac still looking for international volume
I love the SRX, I have one and the CTS. The interior is ready for a refresh, but I love the exterior design of both.

Hot Tahoe fuels GM optimism
I for one love the new Tahoe look and checked it out at the local Chevy dealer here in Kirkland WA. Yet these same 2 Tahoes are still on the lot now sitting there for 3 weeks. The sales guy told me plenty of people have looked at them, but then went for a car that had better gas milage. I checked with the Chevy dealer in Bothell WA and same thing there, they have a couple Tahoes and have not sold a one. So two dealerships with tahoes sitting 2-3 weeks. I have not seen any on the road and while only two dealerships, I have not really noticed that big of an up tick in Chevy marketing here. So I wonder just how good they really are selling.

AutoExtremist: Auto Mags Are DEAD
This would be a perfect reason to have a DVD burner and copy the site each month so you have a backup copy of the C&G. I tend to copy info I like and want to have on hand to my local system and for long term burn DVD's of all my stuff. Equal to a magazine for me.

Hybrid Escalade to be offered in fall of 2007
Rant Hardly a rant, but we are in disagreement. HiMH does get memory far more than Lithum Ion and you are right that Cadmium is worse with memory. The computer industry has had plenty of issues with memory on HiMH. Plus the SUV's are going to require much bigger battery packs than the little Toyota's. Yes is might not be 600-1000lbs, but it will be still a ton of weight in comparison to fuel cell's or just advancing the basic gas engine. Western Washington University took the best parts from all the various makers and built a 2 person car that got 100 miles per gallon proving that Gas engines could do more and they felt this could be done for trucks not just cars. Still Battery production does creat a host of new Toxic by products. Not nearly as friendly as one would think and the recycled batteries still ends up leaving toxins. You can recycle just about anything but that does not mean it is better to do so. We choose to disagree, I still do not believe that Hybrids are the right solution. For a poor family on $35,000 a year, they can still survive much easier on a Dodge Neon or Chevy Cavalier than on a Over priced Toyota Prius. IMO

Sketch Competition 2 - RWD Pontiac sedan!
<_< I hope some people actually bring out some original Clean direction. The current Pontiacs really suck. Everything is pointy and Fuggly except for the Soltices. Pontiac really needs a clean break, no retro and a move in the right Direction. Not sure what that would be, but someone must have a feel for a passion driven auto. I hope to see some. :P Course before anyone says why not draw one, I have no drawing talents at all except for maybe stick figures.

Hybrid Escalade to be offered in fall of 2007
NOT IMPRESSED! We add at least 600 to maybe 1000lbs more weight, Create a TON of Toxic waste on a bunch of batteries that creates a memory and must be replaced. The least they could have done is gone beyond everyone and use Lithiom Ion Batteries instead. WHY WHY WHY Does everyone think a Hybrid is so much better for the Enviornment? People seem to continue to forget about all the toxic waste created by Battery production and the added Electrical components. So we use less Oil but still produce plenty of new Toxic byproducts. Again, people are so easily fooled by marketing and political BULL$h!!

2007 Chevrolet Avalanche
Actually I believe those are the Brushed Aluminum wheels, I saw those same wheels on a new Tahoe at the dealership today and the paperwork said Brushed. The Polished rims were much more shinny than that and of course the Chrome ones just shine like the sun. IMO This new Avalanche I am sure is well built, but SAD that it lost it's edge. This just looks like they took a Tahoe and cut off the back to add a bed. Nothing Special anymore. GM, you need to be differant for each model, stop this rubber stamping of Auto's.

Yukon Denali price Announced
I am a sad Panda, that is so UGLY! I love the look of my 94 SLT GMC Suburban, but that is UGLY. The older Yukon and Denali that I did not care much for is SO WAY MUCH BETTER LOOKING! I truly hope it looks better in person.

President Offers Automakers Little Encouragement
Amazing how we are back to the same old Nixon Watergate Corruption under our current administration. Reality is the Republicans call themselves conservative yet are the worst liberal spenders around. The Democrates call themselves Liberal and yet are very conservative and have worked hard for balanced budget. Reality is a need for balance between the two parties as history has proven when one or the other controlles all things in the government things get out of balance. Much the same way in the auto industry. Things have been out of balance and are only now coming into balance. Quality of auto's as proven with the recent reviews of the Buick and large SUV's. We do not need our government bailing out companies. As a free market, there needs to be a consolidation of airplane companies and auto plants. The unions served their need in the early 1900's but have become lazy and corrupt over the years. The exec's have also become lazy and corrupt as well. At this point we need new leadership or a change in the current leadership to get the companies in a competitive situation and deal with the debt of each company. Changing the unions from pension to 401K and going away from the current union contracts will be a big change and saving pin as to if Ford and GM can survive the oncoming 5 years and there after.
