  3. Yes it is a radical concept I was thinking of the Corvair and how there were so many people against it from other domestics to Nader. The Volt is the same kind of thought change in Detroit. In a way if they would have gotten creative with the name they might have come up with the CorVolt.

  8. I was thinking that they dropped the 360 along with the 401 in '76 Went to lunch at the Mel O Dee in Park Layne outside of New Carlisle saw a near mint '74 Delta 88 'vert whit Blk. top White Int. 9 out of 10 car made me feel like a teen again
  9. Must have been a car show I saw a '74 Matador(Oh so that's a Matador) coupe butterscotch over caramel 360cid no less(that's why I'm guessing '74) Also saw a bustle back black Imperial '81ish? I almost like them better than Seville's of that period they both way outclassed the Lincoln Versailles

  21. Sorry Camino but the 1st Chevy V8 was the Model D 1917-1919 less than 2000 made total US & Canada production. Advanced in design, the 1917 V-8 had a central camshaft operating vertical overhead valves in each bank, a counterweighted crankshaft, and detachable crossflow cylinder heads. Displacing 288 cubic inches and breathing through two Zenith one barrel carburetor, it developed 55 horsepower at 2,700 rpm, running on 4.75:1 compression. 1917 Model D
  22. We think a lot alike on the power-train issues but like reg I like the CVT with the eco model but with your I3 turbo. I think the flat torque band would be both frugal and wicked fast with that combo.

  24. General Motors will inaugurate its newly built engine plant at Talegon on November12th 2010. The new flexi-engine plant, is the first of its kind and can produce both petrol and diesel engines. The commercial production of the New Talegon Engine Plant will commence on November 1st of this year. GM has invested $230 million in this plant which has the annual capacity of 1.6 lakh engines. GM's new engine plant will manufacture four engine variants. The first engine variant will be a 1 L engine that will power GM's Beat car. Beat will be the first car model to get a locally made diesel engine from GM. Chevrolet Beat diesel will be launched during the first quarter of next year. GM is planning to roll out a CNG-powered Beat in a couple of months. According to P Balendran, VP, GM India, the company is yet to finalize the date for the launch of a diesel Spark. He added that the new GM Talegon Engine Factory will start producing 1 petrol and 1 diesel engine initially, which will likely be the 1.2 L petrol and the 1.4 L diesel.   25. I looked into this further with this result "This application RA 629 is canceled by VM Motori / GM ". So in house is the next step. All that money spent on the Fiat misadventures and they(GM) still didn't get a decent diesel program going
