I agree, however, being that the 1999 model run of Riviera's was short and the number's low, the 200 SA's will in time begin to rise in value. If not simly for the mere fact they are the last Riviera's (as of now) and also because of the SA name. Of course being just a badge package may not warrant an increase in collector's status, but stranger things have happened in the auto collector world I.E...mid 90's Civic's becoming this generations pony car....I mean Jesus wtf....seriously

Silver Arrow badge on the dash (dealer installed) and not always in the same location from Riv to Riv. Silver Arrow on the front seat headrests. Silver Arrow Emblems in place of the "Riviera" emblems on the rear quarter panels. Thats it as far as I know. No performance changes were made to the series II motors, and it had your standard 4T65E auto.

I'd take an Olds or Buick....and as Drew said...make it black.

Look, obviously you took offense by my comments, so apparently this isnt the first time you've heard something along these lines. Taking personal attacks on me for giving my personal opinion of your comments on the Cutlass dosent exactly make you look any better than what you're trying to make me out to be. Now as far as saying the Cutlass is "a piece of $h!" I'm sure you know saying the exact words isnt always needed to get your point across. I mean it's pretty obvious what you're hinting at, whether it be sarcasm or not. As just about every post in this thread has shown, most everyone who read this thread, seems to have gotten the same impression from you. As far as being a gear head goes, theres nothing wrong with not being one, however you make it sound as though we are some form of sub species because you are a "designer and a driver" well hell so am I....I spent my childhood designing cars and I drive my car everyday :AH-HA_wink: Last as far as your Millenia goes, see the defensive nature you take with it? refer to my entire original post about an Oldsmobile....and maybe you'll see why.

My family owned 2 1987 Cutlass Ciera's, both bought brand new,one white, one black. Both were 2.8 liter V6 models, the white one ended up stolen I believe. The black one lasted over 10 years, and survived 4 rather big accidents. The motor never gave us a problem and the tranny always shifted smoothly. My father finally got rid of it because he decided to buy a Jeep instead. But I have no complaints about Ciera's.

I'm sorry Vipes...but for crying out loud, for someone who claims to be a car person, you sure dont seem to take any pleasure in having a car that needs a little TLC. Ask any gear head I know, including myself what they enjoy most about owning an older car, and I can bet you 85% of them will say working on them and keeping them running right. Thats part of the experience in owning an older car. You're complaing about MINOR issues here, not a blown motor, or blown tranny, or a frame thats rotted and is beginning to crack. Take some pride in your car and treat it to some repairs before you talk out of your ass about how it's a piece of $h!. I seriously dont understand how you can be more excited to get the Milly back on the road, its as non descript as you can get, it has no redeeming value of any kind and surely wont garner so much as a quick glance by a passerby in the next 5-10 years. The Cutlass however has had and always will have a huge following...and for a reason, there's a special feeling in an Oldsmobile. Maybe it's time you took the time to realize that and start enjoying your car. Just my :twocents:

I'd like to submit my Riviera for this year's as I missed out last year. The Delta 88 is under wraps for now and is away for the time being, but I hope to one day do a shot of both my babies together:)

Well I agree early W bodies were pieces of sh*t for th emost part, they were quite stylish and modern at the time. They just werent built to hold up over time, especially the interiors which are horrible. My grandmother's 91 Lumina's dash has peeled up around the defroster vents and sticks up like a wind guard. The interior materials is insulting.

Pontiac Le Mans anyone? I'm taking the imported one from the late 80's. Chevy Sprint, Toyota Nova, original Geo's...all of these and many more are real low spots in GM's history if you ask me.

Factory CB radios were popular among the big 3 in the late 70s early 80's. They were options on my Delta 88 and 98. My ex girlfriend's grandfather also had it in his '84 Town Car.
