  1. Thanks Knightfan Bimmer, I went to Cottle and Tuckahoe Middle school as well, are you going to Eastchester now or are you at THS? BTW you said you lived by the school, what street are you on?
  2. oh no $h!...I went to Tuckahoe High School... anyway thanks guys, yeah luckily everyone is ok
  3. No Bimmer, the Dunkin Donuts in Hartsdale, further north on Central, where are you from?
  4. First off, like the new look for C&G....now onto the story... Tonight while waiting to turn into a Dunkin Donuts, sitting in the left lane on the northbound side of a road called Central Park Avenue, I was at a full stop with my left indicator on, sitting behind a Saturn L-Series also with it's left signal on. While we were both waiting to turn into Dunkin, cars coming southbound in both lanes, a Chevy Express van sideswipes my Riviera's left rear quarter panel and wheel well, WHILE going into oncoming traffic in the southbound lanes, to cut me and the Saturn off. After a moment of shock, my girlfriend shouts at me to catch him and get his plate #, I pull up behind him, flash my highs at him, honk the horn...he keeps going, and speeding up mind you its pouring out....finally I get his plate on paper, pull up beside him and he cuts a hard left into a parking lot, so I do the same and follow him into this parking lot. Turns out he was driving a work van and pulled into his job, which is about a half a mile up the road from the place where he hit my car. I called the police and they arrived by the time my girlfriend was off the phone with them. Long story short, he claims he didn;t see me, couldn't get over to the right lane so went into oncoming traffic and didn't realize he sideswiped me, meanwhile his van was scratched and caved in from the front passenger door to the back of the sliding door. The outcome? I have to wait till next week for the police report, upon which I will contact my insurance and try to pursue the cost of repairs. The damage is minor all things considered, my left rear quarter panel is dented in a few places at the bumper line, and down to bare metal, and up along the chrome trim around the wheel well...now with it pouring out, my quarter will begin to rust before I can have the work done....so merry f*cking Christmas folks
  5. Dude seriously, and I'm not trying to be rude...you're lucky if you get 500 bucks for a car with that mileage...its a 1992 Bucik Regal...not really a classic.
  6. Um guys, maybe its just me, but the Green house and rear quarters remind me of the Acura TL, even up front a little.... This was th ebest pic I could find in a hurry where both cars are pictured from similar angles
  7. BTW can anyone figure out a way to translate that site into english?
  8. I actually see some hints at the future Riviera, 95-99, especially in the rear quarter panel, profile pic
  9. 1988 Buick Lucern
  10. The C&G curse has done both to me...hit me dead on and missed me by a haair plenty of times. The first time it HIT me was in my grandmother's 1992 Ford Tempo on The Hutchinson River Parkway, which for the most part is a two lane parkways either way, eventually it opens up to three lanes as you enter the Bronx, anyway I'm in the right lane doing about 60 in the Tempo, my friend is driving behind me in my Delta 88, which I had just had a rebuilt starter put into....the next thing I know the blue '93-'94 Caravan in front of me slams on his brakes, comes to a complete stop and by the time I was able to slam my brakes, I rear ended him at about 25 mph. The steering wheel went into my chest and I smashed my head on the A pillar, that damn Tempo is so tiny, there was no room to fly around in there upon impact....anyway I totaled the car, and it only had 42,000 miles on it when this happened in 03-04. The Second time it hit me, was on the same parkway in the other direction when a Mazda 626 came to a dead stop in the left lane, this time I was driving my Delta 88, I slamed the brakes, heard a pop, saw my brake light come on as the pedal went to the floor board...said to myself "oh f@#k!" looked at my girlfriend and told her to hang on...then boom into the back of the 626. I hit him so hard he was pushed forward about 3 car lengths...lucky his car only sustained scratches and the Delta 88 didn't suffer anything, except needing brakes and me driving it another 5 blocks of fthe parkway to my girlfriends house using the parking brake to stop at lights. Lastly here is a near miss, driving down a 2 lane road, one lane per side, and on the oncoming side is a Toyota Landcruiser drifting into my lane, I was going about 30, I imagine she was doing around the same, so this time I was in my Fifth Avenue, rather than getting hit head on, I drove off the road, hit the curb and put a bubble in my right rear tire to avoid this dumb bitch, who of course was on her cell phone.
  11. Looks like a refreshed Stratus with a charger rear quater panel grafted on. Arent those the same tailights from the Stratus?
  12. I like your first gen Monte the Best, wow that is quite a fleet!
  13. Just a couple of things, one I was camparing a 3800 N/A I said without a S/C, with the s/c the horsepower is 225 in my Riv. Second I think you mean the 3.0 V6 in the 1995 Taurus as the 3.8 was used in RWD/4X4 applications then. Lasty I know the TWCC is all in fun and a C&G inside joke...but hey you gotta admit, my Riv is pretty Tight BTW that Cord 812 you posted is FWD :AH-HA_wink:
  14. Sixty8 I can compare anything I want. I am a car guy have been since I can remember, I've been able to name almost every car on the road since before I was old enough to read....explain that....my family will attest to that, futhermore I don't need to pull a tranny or a motor to be a car guy, I like to keep my cars clean, when they need work done to them, if it is something I can't do I'll bring it to a shop. Isn't that what they're for to begin with? my 1979 Olds has 170 horsepower in a V8, my V6 has 205 w/o a supercharger....I think that is kinda funny, and shows how far cars have come since then. Dude spare me your bull$h!, you bought a Q45.....and worst yet a second generation Q45 which has about as much personality as a dead fish. I'll take the STS....and its problems, thank you. What does your Maxima weigh? sure it has RWD what kind of traction do you get in the snow considering that thing probably weighs as much as a foot of snow. My Delta 88 only weigh 3800 lbs, but I can whip that bastard in the snow like nobody's business. I love CARS hence why I can own a RWD car and a FWD drive car and love them both for what they are. BTW a Lincoln Town Car is rugged luxury? I guess thats why they're the taxi cab of choice for most people, I'm trying to remember the last time I've seen a civillian Town car that isn't as old as I am. You hate FWD but yet you bought a Seville, you hate FWD but yet XP's Riv is considered a tight whip, and as a matter of fact so is mine according to you....
  15. I just installed the new IE, I like it better than Firefox, it does have some bugs that need to be fixed
  16. 12 grand is plenty of money to buy a good used car, since you already own an 88 which is a rromy car, I'm not sure if you'd feel "right" in an Alero as it is a lot smaller, the Interpid on the other hand can be a nice looking car and quite roomy, just beware of 2.7 liter motor. Why not look into a Grand Prix of the late 90's early 00's, with a supecharged motor they are pretty quick and quite nice to look at, as well as the Regal GS' of this vintage.
  17. This cracks me up as an owner of a B-body and a G body....I own a 1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88, and a 1995 Buick Riviera....68 a Riviera never sold for 37K dude....you're way off, btw my supercharged 3800 has 45 more horsepower than my Rocket 350, not sure of the torque figures, I love my Olds but I know that my Riviera is just as good. Yeah I'm not a fan of FWD, but I've chirped my tires before in the Riv and have had some good fun taking her to speeds I've never reach in my Olds...well except for when I first bought it in 2001. The G bodies were the cream of the crop from GM in the mid 90's the b-bodies were not. I would take an Impala SS from 95-96 any day of the week if given the chance, but I bought the Riviera for its style, comfort, luxury and performance. Yes it needs some work, but its still a great car, and so is the Olds hence why I am restoring it. But Fly makes some great points in his previous post so I'd be inclined to agree with him for the most part.... but in the end I'm stuck in the middle, since I love a V8 RWD B-body, and yet I love my V6 FWD G-Body...(which I wish was a V8...) Is it possible to swap a Northstar into a Riviera?
  18. what is your price range?
  19. congrats on the new ride, it looks real clean for the amount of miles on it, I always liked the LH's for their size, my personel fav LH is the first gen LHS and the 300M
  20. got some pics up now of my Delta and my Riv
  21. aside from the peeling paint, it looks solid for the miles and year, engine is quite clean, it looks well taken care of, good luck with it. Just a quick thing, these cars are known to rust out in the lower doors and rockers/fenders, my father had an 87 Cutlass Ciera which is the same car as this aside from styling and dashboards...and while it was a good car and ran fine, even had some balls with the 2.8 liter, that bad boy got rusty with age.
  22. Past rides I've had... 1978 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight-350 Rocket, 194,xxx before it died 1986 Toyota Camry, 2.2 liter 4 banger, 114,xxx blown head gasket 1996 Ford Taurus, 3.0 V6 44,xxx blown tranny 1985 Chrysler 5th Ave, 5.2 V8, 130,xxx, car still ran, leaked fuel, gas gauge didn't work, driver's window would open when you hit a bump, the speedo and fuel gauge didn't light up anymore, the tranny was starting to go...etc. current cars: 1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale, 350 Rocket, 120,505, parked, awaiting resto. 1995 Buick Riviera, 3800 V6, 81,xxx- needing brakes, supercharge pulley, and a tune up....daily driver
  23. Here is a thought to ponder for everyone upset about the lack of leather on the dash and center stack...I look at it as a good thing, I mean think about the quality problems that could arise out of having a leather dashboard. If the stitching comes apart, or the leather cracks with age, like it eventually does on the seats, not only do your seats look worn then., but so does your once beautiful dashboard. With the dashboard being in direct sunlight more than the seats would be, especially with most people putting some degree of tint on their front windows to blend in with the factory tint in the back, the dash is subject to extreme UV rays and heat in most climates during hte summer months, and extreme cold in the winter. Also think about conditioning the leather to keep it as new as possible, but in the process creating glare on the windshield as the conditoner has created a sheen on the leather. I'm sure these factors, plus wanting to keep the Enclave to a certain degree at a price point, all contributed to the lack of leather. Quite frankly I'd rather a standard dash that will at least hold up for longer, my only gripe is that the darker portions of the interior are lighter in shade than the concept's. I really liked the dark brown of the concept's interior....but otherwise way to go GM!
  24. I'll take a black CXL please, and I actually like the production gauges better than the concepts, the leather trim would have been a nice touvh for production but I wasn't excepting it, this is my next car....period
  25. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, but while you guys are gaining 5 pounds each today, I'll be workng...AAA never closes, hopefully it'll be busy and I can make some good money
