  1. But...ironically, The non-911 sedan and the non-911 SUV AWFULLY look like a 911... And the reason is...as to look as closely possible like a Porsche (911) as possible. The models I posted above that failed...oddly enough, did NOT look like a 911. The models that HAVE succeeded, even more strange, is that they DO look like a 911. Coinkidink? I think not!
  2. The irony of Porsche dilution is that Porsche tried many times to EXPAND its models (for mass production success) Porschefiles (more like rabid 911 fanatics) REJECTED EACH AND EVERY ATTEMPT BEFORE the SUVs... 1. Volkswagen derived derived 914 to replace the Kharman Ghia within the corporate umbrella... 2. 924 to replace the 914 2a. the 924 then became the 944 (closely related to the 924) 2b. the 944 then became the 968 (closely related to the 944) 3. The 928 Other than the SUVs and CUVs they sell, they also mass produce the Boxster and Cayman. They are afraid of messin' around with the 911 performance cred and dont wanna piss off these rabid 911 fanatics that they DELIBERATELY hamper the performance attributes of these as to not step on the 911's toes. (Cue in people's shyttin' on Chevy for doing the same thing to Buick and Pontiac vis-a-vis the Vette in the 1980s) The thing with Porsche and this perversion is: Porsche as a brand or model: Is to produce SPORTS CARS in the TRUEST SENSE of the definition of SPORTS CAR. So yeah...if you feel that Chevy/GM will shyte on the Corvette name and brand if Chevy/GM will produce Corvette branded SUVs, then you MUST feel the same way about Porsche producing BLOATED 4 door sedans and BLOATED, TOP HEAVY SUVs and CUTE UTES... If not...you are not being honest with yourself. I dont really care about how you feel about either Porsche or Corvette...but at least have the same consistency in your logic is alls Im sayin' Corvette and the 911 as models AND brands are BOTH purest in form since their inception. Ferrari's mid-engine sports cars meant for high sales are also pure. (Dino206GT,308,328,348,F355,360...,458...,F8) All have seen some deviations from their absolute beginnings, but are mostly intact from what they are. The Vette went from a straight 6 to a V8 to being mid-engined The Porsche went from a 4 cylinder to an aircooled boxer 6 to AWD (and Turbo) to liquid cooled The Ferrari went from a V6 to transverse V8 to a longtitude V8 to twin turboed longtitude V8 The reason why I bolded turbo with Ferrari as Ferrari ALWAYS swore off turbos yet ironically had turbos in their F40...but went to turbos again with the last two gens of their 'mass produced' models.

  4. (Big Ben) Roethlisberger I cant do that to the guy. He IS a good QB!
  5. There is a chink in the armour... A slight glitch if you will in the logisticals. No harm done as Ive sent Hobs back to Coventry just in the nick of time. Was close though.

  7. Cant see the video because "the uploader has not made this video available in your country". Keep in my I live in Canada. Very important information for later on. To see the video, there are many ways to skin a cat... I find out that the uploader is the Smithsonian Channel Aviation Nation Then I find out the plane in question is the De Havilland Twin Otter. Motherphoquer!!! The Smithsonian is blocking a video to Canada about a Canadian airplane! Its not even ironic at this point. More like moronic. Anyway, there must be a valid reason for this... But yeah! The Twin Otter IS bad ass!!!
  8. I started to wane off of rock in the early 1990s. I still listened to the classics of the '50s and '60s whenever I could, but my '80s dance pop, disco, and hip hop interests just grew that much faster as I was entering the age where I could go clubbing. It didnt help my rock interests when at this point in time, good rock was just a shadow of its former self. Some gems still being produced, but dance tracks did not peak yet. In the 1980s, I kept on hearing that disco had finally died, but honestly, I didnt see it. I saw it evolve and it became even bigger than it was in the 1970s. Although not disco...these Eurodance and Hip Hop dance club hits were EVERYWHERE in the late 1980s and well into the 1990s. And I see them as a continuation of disco.
  9. I really really loved this song in back in 1987. As time marched forward and unto the 1990s, I had forgotten about it. About a decade ago, I came across this song again. And since then, I keep on coming back to it from time to time. Makes me warm and fuzzy inside. Something about it just makes me remember Montreal summers in the 1980s more than any other song of that time period. I have no idea why other than I really really loved that song in 1987... It wasnt even my favorite song. I just enjoyed it...a lot. And now...I enjoy it even more.
  10. The last 30 years did seem to go by fast. I just finished being a teen in 1991, became an adult exactly in 1991 (18 years old) . Although I was and still am a teen at heart LOL. Experienced what young adults experience at the fullest. Started a business. Met a wonderfully smart and beautiful young lady. Got married to her. 2 kids that are teens themselves right about now. Bruce knew what he was talking about even though he was in his 30s when he released this song Although I aint done livin' by a looooong shot. I got a helluva lot more to accomplish, I may have to start thinkin' I aint no teenager no more. It may be embarrassing for my kids and wife... NAH! Boys will always be boys! THAT is how I will live longer. YOUNG at heart!!! Besides...there are even more glory days to come! And I cant wait to experience them! One day at a time!
  11. The Catera could have worked if GM allowed more funds to develop it for Cadillac. As is, it was at Chevrolet or Pontiac levels. In the Middle East, it WAS a Chevrolet. A Lumina. It had the 3.8 liter V6 from Buick. It had the supercharged version too under the hood and as a Lumina SS, it had the LS1 under the hood. In the US, it had the lame Opel 3.0 V6. No torque. Horsepower was a tad anemic for a Caddy that wanted to zig and zag. The sedan was made into a coupe...and we got it as a Pontiac. And THAT too failed. Because Pontiac labeled it as a GTO. It was a great Pontiac. But at that point in time, retro was ALL the rage. And the Catera couped GTO looked NOTHING like a PONTIAC GTO... Ah....yes!!! Those wonderful General Motors times at the end of the last century. What fantastic times they were.
  12. Alpha, Beta, GAMMA, Delta You were missing the 3rd letter... And Omega would be the last letter in the Greek Alphabet. Zeta would be the 6th letter... Speaking of the Omega and the Zeta. The Zeta platform would be the platform that succeeded the Omega car and We know know the Zeta platform as the Pontiac G8 and Chevrolet SS. I know its all Greek to you folk, but I...am damned proud that Greek is being discussed one way or other. ?
  13. As long as Tadge Juechter is Corvette's chief engineer, Corvette will NOT expand into being its own brand. Unless GM gives him his walking papers like they did with Doug Fehan, the chief of Corvette racing. And I dont think GM is ready to let go of Tadge just yet. I dont think GM is ready to expand on a Corvette brand any time soon. If I read the comments properly on those EV teasers, the exterior of that EV is inspired by the Corvette's looks... Nothing more. Nothing less.

  15. Peter DeLorenzo bought a Chevy Bolt a few months ago... Here is what he thinks of it. http://www.autoextremist.com/on-the-table1/
  16. Prolonging the agony springs to my mind here. Even BEFORE Covidness happened, the autoshow was on borrowed time. Not only the Detroit one. ALL of 'em. Covidness just accelerated the death. (pun intended) I kinda like an autoshow the 'ole fashioned way. Yet another thing of the past goes away... Oh well. I was kinda hoping for this year's Montreal show as I would have thought Chevy might have had a C8 on the floor to which people would be able to sit inside. I guess my best chance to sit inside one now is to buy one. Not a bad idea though. I'd have to sell that thought to the 'ole battle axe... So not a chance in hell then. Oh well... Life will go on as usual...
  17. Chevrolet hasnt called anything else a Corvette other than a Corvette... Ford just recently expanded the Mustang name to a sporty BE CUV... And its a Mustang BECAUSE Ford named it that... Ford doesnt care what you think about the name. Ford knows what it has in the Mustang, as when they tried to replace it with a FWD sporty coupe, they got tons of hate mail and even more mail to keep the Mustang alive. Low and behold, the RWD V8 powered coupe is still here alive and well and it aint going nowhere anytime soon. And those Mustang Mach-Es....I think they already sold out at 50 000 units therefore it dont matter even more if you dont like the name, plenty of people dont seem to care about that making Ford not care about you even more. And about that... Id say Corvette is a cooler name than Model S. Of course people say Vette instead of Chevy. They say Camaro and Chevelle and Impala with the same amount of pride and gusto. And people just KNOW that all those are CHEVROLETS... THAT is how much BRAND recognition CHEVROLET has got when EVERYBODY KNOWS that Impalas, Chevelles, Camaros AND Corvettes are indeed...CHEVROLETS. Model S... 100 years ago, Ford and Buick and everybody in the car making game named their cars with Model and then a number or letter right after. Nothing earth shattering there. Tesla as a brand is huuuuge. Model S as a stand alone. Nothing special... In other words...Impala SS...Not only is the person proud that he owns a Chevy, but an Impala. Different than a Chevelle. Say Chevelle and visions of one of the most iconic muscle cars ever floods the room full of people with envy. And yet, people know that its a Chevrolet. Nope...not an Impala. The Impala is the big model. Everybody knows that. Its a Chevelle. Its THE muscle car. Mention Corvette and everybody goes bat shyte crazy. And you guessed it...BECAUSE ITS A CHEVY... Proof? YOU just did exactly that...
  18. My favorite catch phrases and the irony of it all...
  19. Well, Ill be damned! Worked like a charm!!! The first wave came in and I was biting my nails. I thought maybe that the onslaught of attacks would penetrate my Kevlar body armour. I could feel the pouncing slightly on my chest...and then the BIG one came...and...NOTHING! AWESOME~now I could put her on cruise control and let the good times roll!!!
  20. PS: For the folk that hate the naming scheme of Ford's newest SUV. true. And...it wasnt the Mustang long range either.
  21. 93 mpg-e for the Mustang and 111 mpg-e for the Model Y as per that video on top. Both used about 50% of their battery, give or take, going to the mountain. They drove 70 miles to get to the top of the mountain if I understood correcty... Driving 8 miles downhill after they left the mountain, the Mustang gained 3% to the battery through regen. (Im posting tidbits of info as Im listening to the video at the same time Im listening to it. Info that I like or I think is interesting) The Mustang accelerates great between 30-50 mph but has deficiencies as compared to the Model Y and/or other cars in general. The Model Y though is a more sportier ride and faster CUV than the Mustang. (my opinion based on their video: Hate on Tesla all we want, but it does NOT matter WHO test drives these Tesla and what model Tesla IS being tested, it seems that everyone seems to think that Tesla KNOWS how to build a sporty, fun and fast EV...) Going back up the mountain for another 8 miles, the Mustang ate up A LOT of battery power. But the dudes did NOT mention how much the Tesla did. THAT is what I curious about though. They already proved in the first part of the video that the Model Y is more efficient than the Mustang, how much more efficient is it now at THIS stretch is what I wanna know... The Mustang at this point is at 38% battery life and If I heard correctly at the end there, I think I heard the dude say the Model Y is at 45% They finally reached the chargers and the Mustang is at 44 miles left @ 30% charge The Model Y is at 117 miles @ 40% Ill stop it here. What I wanna know is how many miles they actually did at this point and how many hours they drove to get at their first charging point... Model Y dude said they will spend 15 minutes to charge...and that means 15 minutes more than people spend gassing up. Wrong... 10 minutes more. Semantics...I know... But I do NOT appreciate the unnecessary drama... Like I said... What I wanna know is how many miles they actually did at this point and how many minutes/hours they drove to get at their first charging point... THAT would be more helpful to actually trying see if an EV is right for you if long trips are a thing you do with vehicles. Because Ill tell you one thing... When I was travelling with my buddies to Lake George, or Quebec City or even Boston, we HARDLY stopped... Not even to pee. Well, there was ONE time when we DID stop to pee at Plattsburgh on the way to Lake George. But...with my family...the trips we did to Ottawa, and Toronto...and Lake George...it seems we stopped at almost every 30 minutes. Kids get hungry. Wife has a bladder small like a gold fish. Stopping at a food court and killing 15 minutes 3-4 times in a short destination is a gimme for MY family. Doing THAT for an EV, with an EV is apparently not a big deal... And yeah...food courts along the way...DO have chargers... Now...I guess I will found out how the charging went... OK...I got my answer. They travelled 143 miles. I said EVs (mainly Teslas) in 2020 could go 250-300 miles without stopping with full on heat and A/C. It seems I wasnt far off in my assumption. 250 miles is what I was focusing on mainly. In terms of gauges...the Tesla used 172 miles in range and the Mustang 123. Gauges dont mean shyte is what they are saying. Tesla used 56% of its battery pack and the Mach E used 70%. Tesla, because there was many Tesla charging...slow charging Mustang...malfunctioning chargers. After 15 minutes...they both stopped. The Mustang dude, reluctantly because he got a spike in power for a few seconds. LOL. 2 bucks and change for the little electricity the dude used for the Mustang and gained 8%. 8 minutes of charging time. The Tesla dude got billed twice the amount, but git twice as much juice if I was to understand... They drove 180 miles all together. Lots of traffic, and one measly pitstop of 15 minutes. I did not stay for their advantages and disadvantages of both vehicles. I could conclude...for myself... THAT BETTER INFRASTRUCTURE IS NEEDED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA regarding EVs. THAT IS NO FAULT OF EVs AS THEY ARE NOW! The technology is right now is good. Even as long hauling goes. Small compromises that wont affect lives all that much. Covid has been a much more disruption of our daily lives than what an EV will do to us on a long road trip... You could conclude by yourselves as to why the US has shytty EV charging infrastructure, political, environmental and personal biases be included in your own assesments, I dont really care... ...but what I learned today, in 2020 is that 1. an EV is quite capable of doing what an ICEV is doing in 2020. 2. Like in the ICEV world, there will ALWAYS be better/worse, faster/slower, more comfy vehicles/less comfy, smaller/larger when comparing them with each other
  22. You know... So far...Montreal has had 3 snowfalls since late November. The first two were hardly anything. A few 'liberal' snowflakes scared to stick around. (LOL I wanted to make a funny! ) We did end up having a white XMAS...barely. In January we got 4 inches but because the next few days were above freezing, that snowfall didnt stick around either. This would be the forth snowfall. A legit snowstorm they are calling it. But...the temps are frighteningly high that..well...it aint right for a winter season in the North East. I know that winter is faaaaar from over, but in the past, we would be cursing at the TV for another mentioning of snowflakes falling from the sky instead of salivating at the idea of maybe...we could have a decent snowball fight for the first time this season...
  23. Snowstorm from tonight unto the morning up here. The good ole weather-dudes and dudettes are calling for 6 inches or so. But as compared to hurricanes and tropical storms...Ill gladly take sleet and a ton load of snow over that, thank-you very much! What is it I said earlier today? Brrrrrr? Am I contradicting myself here?
