I used to have many vices. The drink. The sex. The adrenaline junkie stuff such as driving fast on EMPTY city streets late at night or going fast, like stupidly scary fast down ski hills(night skiing and on the side trails of the ski hill where many trees reside. And yes Ive hit one and screwed up my knee and eventually requiring reconstructive knee surgery decades later a decade ago. HUH? ) Now...I got one vice. My family. (wife and kids) They are my drug now as I cant live without them. Weed... I dont care who smokes it or who doesnt. I dont want my kids touching the stuff just like I dont want my kids over doing the drink and the speed when they are ready to drive. Hard drugs. Well...I speak against the drugs, the soft ones as well as the hard ones, and hopefully they make the right decisions when its time to make those decisions. I do keep on pounding the message that drugs=bad. And I just hope the parenting that my wife and I do resonates with them. And they do know that so they choose to do the vicey stuff, that we are not going to be mad. They could count on us to help them get through the bad times. But...bad times will come if they do the vicey things...

Yes. Back to cars. My son always loved little Hot Wheel cars. Now he is obsessed with them. Yes. Yes. He loves his computer related toys like his remote controlled robot Olie or his video games and stuff like that. He does enjoy old skool little toy cars. He also loves playing sports. Back to cars. The basement play area this past year has become a Hot Wheels racing track/city room. Its not big enough to make Youtube video salary with it, but its fun for me and him alike non the less. Waiting for the summer so we could play baseball... Next Hot Wheels toy I buy for him. The wireless 'smart' racetrack thingy.

It would seem that it bothers me... But I have stated the reasons why I keep on bringing that up... My reasons have never changed. Its the hypocrisy of the way people use it....the down voting part. In my view. Down voting should be only used to down vote trolling posts. (and since we basically dont have any blatant tolls anymore at this website...I dont want to see that red arrow anymore!) A differing opinion should not be down voted. If down voting, then explain yourself why. Just expect a response back. If the reasons dont make sense at all, expect a back lash. Dont whine if you cant handle the backlash afterwards... Dont downvote and leave. Dont whine and cry if the other poster made you look like a fool when responding to your non-sense rebuttal especially if an opinion was down voted. Dont cry foul and try to muzzle the other poster hiding behind "rules". We had a pretty heated exchange regarding the small block Chevy a few days ago. We all have an opinion. We all defend that opinion. No trolling was made that day. Well...some words were said by both camps that maybe should have been avoided... This here, is something quite strange. A down vote and a rebuttal triggered me because while politics shoiuld have not been brought up from the get go...a rebuttal stating what OP's opinion was false...is...false. Yet the down voter decided to make it THE point on interest whining about a political post yet he HIMSELF continued on with a political view. Instead of just IGNORING that part. Now...we have 2 opposing views.... Mine and the down voter. Why...in MY point of view, does HE get to whine and to stress how wrong MY point of view is (because my POV is same as OP) regarding the current state of affairs? He decided to make a battle cry for it. So did I! And THAT is why there may be a problem the way the casual down voter is seen by me. The CT6...at the lower end really does not compete sales wise to neither the E Class or the 5 Series. The 5 Series remains the benchmark or maybe now the E Class... The CT6 at the higher end of the spectrum is comparable. But...for me to say that, the breakdown of how many CT6 sales are made at the $50 000 end and how many are made in the $80 000 end should be revealed. I shouldnt be assuming that either... The CT6 takes care of Audi quite nicely, but as for Mercedes Benz and BMW, there is still a lot of work to be done. But...at a time when sedan sales are tanking and SUV and CUV sales are soaring, I dont think the CT6 will EVER be relevant... I correct my mistake. Sorry for the misleading post before this one.

Why would the CT6 be outselling the Escalade? 1. The CT6 is a sedan 2. The Escalade is a SUV 3. Two different types of vehicles 4. SUVs are the hot, "gotta have it" commodity The CT6 is doing what it should be doing. Having sales figures that equal the German SEDANS where the price points meet. And for the CT6 outselling a BMW 5 Series...a sedan that has been a benchmark for a long time...is doing all right considering sedan sales in general are down down down. This means that for the MINORITY of folk that want a sedan and not a SUV, are not only considering a Cadillac, but are actually PURCHASING a Cadillac over a bench marked BMW sedan. The 'tweener approach in price and in size seems to be working, again. (referencing the 1st and 2nd generation CTS)

Or maybe just make sedans more like how they were in the 1930s and 1940s. High belt line. High step in to get into the car. A step runner for good measure. Short front and rear overhang. Long hood and short deck just the same. Tall roof. Make it taper off in the back end for a sleek look. And an actual huge trunk that you dont bend over to get your stuff from but still opens big and wide that is not a hatchback... Because modern crossover style SUVs and CUVs...minus the hatch...are eerily similar...

There is the Fusion Sport that couldnt have taken the SHO's place. But CUVs selling the way they do probably put that kind of sport sedan performance on ice. So...Marauder DNA does live in the Taurus SHO that could have been passed unto the the Fusion Sport but in reality its an Explorer that should be getting that kind of attention performance in the near future. Its easier for Ford to do in the future as the Explorer Police Interceptor gets heavy duty stuff, SUVs sell AND has a fleet service economy of sales to make the R&D for a badass Explorer more easier to swallow.

Coupe or sedan. Its a very sensual and classy design. Aggressive in just the right places and doses while retaining very slippery and sexy lines. Infiniti's SUVs and CUVs are ugly to me.

The Tacoma has history behind it Many many people have had indestructible experiences with its predecessor, the Hilux. And if they hadnt had any experiences with the Hilux, the mythical stories they heard others talk about either from word of mouth or on TV raised the Hilux to legendary status. The Tacoma...although not as near as legendary as the Hilux, the Tacoma has served the people well over the years right after the Hilux was changed completely and re-named for the US market. I am not surprised the Tacoma does well in the market place. There has been some major reliability missteps by Toyota with some of their nameplates (which hasnt seem to affect their sales...) and some bland choices they made to their image...but its safe to say that their small truck offerings is as awesome as it ever was.

Manual is always classy. Digital like Knigth Rider ...or a 1980s Corvette (and several other 1980s cars) is OK with me too. Digital that emulates manual gauges is awesome. So I really dont have a problem with the "delivery". I do question sometimes on the quantity of information though. How much info do we need displayed in front of us...immediately, even with a quick and simple toggle of a steering wheel button before it gets to be information overload? Do we really need a tachometer displayed when our cars are automatic? If the argument is to see were the car is revving on a cold winter night before we take off so the car could warm up properly...well, modern cars dont really need to be warmed up...(I actually do leave the car running...but not for the RPMs to drop below or at 1000 so the car could be ready to go....its for the car to get HOT on the inside so I dont freeze my ba*&lls off!) Do we really need to know at all times what radio station the radio is at? In the old days...this is what people had Somehow those people back then knew what channel the bloody radio was on...they also knew where the bloody needle needed to be to get perfect reception if the pre-select buttons were not used...(I remember those people quite well as I was one of those people that knew how to handle a radio like that...) Especially when digital display radios were a thing in the 1980s...I think its redundant to have the radio station number displayed on the dash where the speed and idiot lights are displayed...or on the windshield via HUD... So...that would the kind of thing that would be of concern for me regarding car gauges and information.
