  1. Maybe if you were just as less critical of Acura as you are of your beloved Impala LTZ...we wouldn't be having this STUPID, CHILDISH, IDIOTIC, GRADE SCHOOL CONVERSATION!!! PS: I LOVE THE IMPALA LTZ MORE THAN ANYTHING ITS THIS PRICE RANGE!!!! Yet I could clearly see it has flaws...just like no other car YOU mentioned... YEAH YEAH...Its American... Yo...I perhaps LOVE AMERICAN CARS MORE than YOU!!! Difference is I aint oblivious to their flaws nor do I try too justify them...making you lose credibility when the grown ups talk... I get it Casa....I had those very same conversations YOU have in the 1990s when everything Japanese was golden and everything American was rotten and EVERYBODY was saying so... In 2016...that is not the case...American cars get JUSTIFIED criticism today...which is not much... Look...you find faults in Acura when they don't even exists ala GM in the 1990s...
  2. The Tesla Model S....Id leave that one out... Its luxury for 1 reason only...and NOTHING at GM has an answer for...not Cadillac, not even Corvette. Maybe the Bolt. But the Model S is eons and eons ahead of the Bolt... TECHNOLOGY. As in automotive breakthrough waaaay forward thinking in propulsion using alternative energies that actually is redefining the way the automobile is powered. Which is a luxury component on itself. If Tesla were to use Italian cows on their seats with uber soft plastics and funky suedes and velours on their dashes with exotic Martian metals for their buttons and 24k gold trimmed pieces to outline their iPad displays, the price tag of the Model S would surpass that of the Space Shuttle Columbia... The TLX... Nobody said the TLX is luxury...its premium. By your very own definition. The TLX spanks the Impala in quality and in build. And even if you dont think so, the TLX has got something that GM also does not have an answer for. Not Cadillac. Not even Corvette. SH-AWD. Ok...GM does have a similar system. But GM does not have PAWS. Hey...I much prefer the Impala over the TLX...but, when trying to sling mud a certain way, try not to get it on yourself... PS...A 2012 TL SH-AWD might be waaaay ugly, but its by far a better premium car for premium purposes than a Super Epsilon Chevy Impala LTZ. A TLX or TL is screwed more tighter than an Impala...tighter tolerances is what I mean... Just because the Impala LTZ has French stitching on the dash, it does not mean that it out-premiums the Acura... HOWEVER...I do agree with all of your other posts in this thread... I just felt I needed to defend the Acura and the Tesla...
  3. That is where Mercury was at. I understand why Mercury was killed off, and it was necessary at that point in time, and FoMoCo dropped the ball in the late 1970s and 1980s with Mercury that continued all the way until Mercury's death... But in today's 2016 FoMoCo, wouldn't it be nice if FoMoCo still had Mercury? FoMoCo did a fabulous job of getting Ford the brand with the Premium trims to replace Mercury somewhat, but Lincoln needs to get their trims and quality and the their price levels higher at the base level...this I agree with you Drew.
  4. Im gonna guess that Beijing will be THE auto show that the world watches in the near future. One question. Are the Geneva and Paris shows relevant as they used to be or are they losing steam like Detroit? Back to the Bolt and autonomous driving... My opinion...as much as I love electric vehicles...I HATE THIS AUTONOMOUS TECHNOLOGY!!! Although I do see how beneficial it will be for humanity going forward.
  5. I gather the Los Angeles and New York auto shows are gaining steam and stealing Detroit's thunder? Maybe even SEMA with maybe the electronics show Las Vegas has?
  6. @hyperv6 YUP! I was being sarcastic with that post just acknowledging how old this platform is. The Chrysler 300 anywhere in the world was more or less about luxury and high styling. Even the Chrysler 300 faced Dodge Charger station wagon that was sold in Europe was all about class. Like you said, its a bloody shame Sergio is dragging this nameplate to the ground. I guess one real cool thing about all this is that maybe a SRT8 6.4liter Hemi gets to re-live again in Aussie land. Hey...maybe a Chrysler 300 Hellcat too? At this point in time...what else could MOPAR SRT engineers do but make a 300 Hellcat! The Viper is gone too...they now have extra time on their hands...if only for Australia. Hey...they would be filling a void with GM and Ford ditching their Aussie muscle cars...
  7. Cooooooooool. Another line of awesome MOPAR cop cars. Good for Chrysler to re-enter the cop car scene. Now that GM let go of their Caprice. No reason for Ford and their Crown Vic to have all that all on their own. I googled it to see how it looks...looks menacing.
  8. Hear me now and believe me later, Suave. You are no longer a girlie man. Great news! Maybe now you could replace Aaron Rogers and star right beside Hanz and Franz.
  9. Since Dino's name was mentioned...and since FCA is Eye-Talian, and since FCA is ditching Detroit... Im sayin' this AINT THAT A KICK IN THE HEAD
  10. Ecoboosted V6 F-150? Ecoboosted V6 Ford GT? WOW! (shakes head in disbelief) I could have had a V8!!! For comedic relief this post is. Shyte storm to cause it is not!
  11. technically, the RC looks like the LC500 as the concept car came first...and the RC took its looks from the concept car. The LC500 is EXACTLY how the concept car was, its just that the concept car was green lighted way late as Lexus really had no intentions in building but they finally did... The LC500 has got something no Mercedes car you mentioned has... Concept car sex appeal. The classic and modern Gullwing sports cars and the McLaren sports car are more in line with what the LC500 is. Price tags aside of course.
  12. Waaaaaay over price Breitling... I normally like Breitling watches because of their pseudo connection to Aviation. Same with Raybans. But this is one Breitling I could care less for. Old and new Chrysler 300C clock looks to be more elegant. A tad more expensive detailing on the bezel with an equal amount of diamonds as that Breitling and the Chrysler 300C surpasses the Breitling in elegance. For me...expensive time pieces HAVE TO BE elegant. Not gaudi shytes...that Breitling to me seems gaudi. No...Breitling watches have never been elegant. But, they do look like they serve some sort of purpose. In the Bentayga however, that is not the case... As far as the mechanicals go if one wants to argue why it costs that much... In 2016...time piece precision is a gimme. This aint the 1800s or early 1900s anymore. In fact, Timex by takin' a lickin' and they kept on tickin' proved that SEVERAL decades ago... Now...I do respect and enjoy the precision engineering of expensive watches...I just dont get consumed by the faux marketing involved...
  13. I dont mean anything by this...nor does it have anything to do with the subject at hand...and you may or maynot know...but Id like to point out anyway as an informative footnote that the Altima Hybrid was also sold in Quebec. I dont know if it was sold elsewhere in Canada, but Im 100% sure it was sold in Quebec.
  14. Its so bright, that EVs gotta wear shades.
  15. Will do actually!!! Thanx in part to this thread. Yours and Stew's posts made me itchy for #3. We, as in the family, we will be going to see Rogue One during the week between XMAS and New Years. What better way to cap off that week with #3 from Star Trek. My kids have watched #1 with me and did enjoy it. I watched #2 alone though. I dont think #2 is necessary to watch for #3...it dont matter, all we'll do is Star Wars and Star Trek marathon all that week!!!
  16. I havent seen the 3rd one....yet. Because I am not a Trekkie, it was not on my gotta see it now list. I feel like all the rebooted Star Trek movie actors do an incredible job of capturing the essence of the characters they represent in the original way while at the same time spinning their own take on the originals. A bloody shame for Anton Yelchin. Very hard to do but I think they succeeded BIG TIME. I think this is why the rebooted movies connect with newbies like myself to being a fan of the franchise TODAY. Newbies like myself certainly know and are familiar with the quirky actors and acting of the original cast. And I am talking about myself here, I did not necessarily want Nimoy or Shatner or the others in the movie, I did want to see familiarity. And I did want the movies to break away from that nerdy edge original format. I guess that was what the Next Generation was all about with Captain Picard...it was still too nerdy for my tastes.
  17. I was never a fan of Star Trek. I did however enjoy some original Star Trek TV shows. The Next Generation stuff never interested me. OK..this is where it becomes wacky. I LOVE the last 2 rebooted movies. I am saddened by the death of the actor playing Chekov. Leonard Nimoy....I was saddened by his passing as well. Star Wars is where its at for me. Yes. Even Episodes 1,2 and 3. #2 was too long and too love storyish that needed not be. Stupid scenes that took away from what could have been a better storyline with Count Dooku and Anakin and the Clone Wars. We KNOW that Padme and Anakin were gonna be a thing...no need to make us vomit over it with overly corny, overdone, over dramatized love scenes with no chemistry between the lovers. HOWEVER, the chemistry between Anakin and OB1 were incredible! OK....back to Star Trek...
  18. I LOVE Lesbians. But then again, Im just a narcissistic man-whore who thinks lesbians exist just to please MY male hetero sexual fantasies... Kinda ironic and sooooooo not reality!
  19. I share your thoughts. It will be a fine car. Buick and Chevy havent disappointed the last couple of years. It does have a certain charisma. Ill give it that but it doesnt tug at any of my emotions like this generation does. I think I prefer the next gen Lacrosse over this. Who knows? It might grow on me as its not a bad looking car. Maybe its because I STILL like the current Regal's looks that I secretly dont want it to go away. it was meant to be sarcastic as I think it looks like a Mazda6. HOOWEVER, looking at my prediction as a serious tone, it might not be a bad thing to try to emulate a certain luxury version of Mazda's Zoom Zoom campaign...
  20. I dont like it. It looks....odd. Besides having a look reminiscing of a new Mazda6, which is a good thing, some proportions on this car look bizarre to me. I dont like the way the headlights are placed on the car. I am all for more interior leg room, especially in the rear as compared to the old Regal but I feel the longer wheelbase and the way the shape of the car is with the location of the headlights just makes this car look strange to me.
  21. The only Challenger I see where AWD would be beneficial would be the SRT 8 versions ESPECIALLY the Hellcat. But alas, I dont think AWD will be offered for those. Sure its a no big deal add on as the Charger and 300 have this and I applaud this move ONLY because it MIGHT make pony car guys think about how the pony car segment COULD evolve to to spice things up performance wise vis-a-vis the competitor German sport coupe cars that have AWD... Or maybe not. Alls I know about a Hellcat is that its got insane power and its hard to get that power to the ground effectively. I LOVE me that Hellcat power. But AWD would do it some good. Mind you, a new svelte platform would also benefit a Hellcat. AWD on a Challenger? Call it boring for me.... A 300C also had it a DECADE ago... BIG DEAL!!! GIVE ME A BRAND NEW CHALLENGER INSTEAD!!! I STILL LOVE THIS HELLCAT THOUGH!!! BUT I WANT A NEW PLATFORMED CHALLENGER HELLCAT EVEN MORE!!!
  22. No worries there for me... Im a Boston Bruins fan. Yup...a Bruins fan from Montreal! But....every single time the Bruins LOSE to the Habs, its kinda like this for me. And because XMAS is right around the corner...the rant is comparable
  23. Yes Mr DFELT. Its accurate for me too. I edited this post. I originally had another Yoda meme, but the message was not what I wanted.
  24. Just give me this. Everything else at Lexus could be thrown in the garbage. OK..Ill also take this one too
