    @SMK What was that price tag on that Gullwing SLS AMG, SMK? At least 3 times less... And it took the 1990 ZR-1 Vette, Acura NSX and Dodge Viper to wake up Ferrari and Lambo....unto which M-B got that itch 20 years LATER to join.. ACURA, CHEVROLET and DODGE.... CHEVY and DODGE... MAINSTREAM FAMILY HAULERS companies.... The ZL-1 Camaro will probably see at least 195 MPH... Its still a lowly pony car adorning the Bow Tie... And no....the M-B GT will NOT trounce it.... In some areas, maybe....in some areas NO! Again.... What is that price tag on that M-B GT? On the 911? Yes, the Holy Grail of Sports Cars... You know....once the Vette becomes mid-engined and performance stats really hit supercardome...which they kinda do now anyway... All those Front engine RWD tricks the Vettes has now will be passed unto the Camaro...and the Vette aint no chump against the Germans.... AND THAT IS WHY THE CAMARO IS PRICED THE WAY IT IS! The Camaro is still a steal for the performance gained with what all other companies are offering... 650 horsepower.. 430 horsepower... Are those power figures too huge for Chevy? Is that what you folk are eluding to? You got to pay to play, yet its stilll a Chevy....still cheaper with what you get from BMW, M-B, Ford or anywhere else!

    To freakin soon is what I say also. We salt our roads in the winter, and I dont see ANY brands today that young with rust bubbles. (Montreal, Quebec is where I come from) After 6-7 years maybe on cars that get no love. I own a 2013 Ford Fusion. She looks as new as the day she drove off from the showroom floor.

    And that 638 HP Corvette had a Cadillac price tag. Maybe same price tag with that 469 HP Cadillac.Quite possibly a HIGHER price tag than it even.. And just to add to my post above... SMK... Find me the price tag of that 2002 Camaro SS anniversary edition and while you are at it, find me the price tag of the 2002 Pontiac Trans A WS6 collector edition (convertibles too) just to see how much those cost back in the day versus Toyota... But also do an equipment list comparison including the quality of the interior materials with the last special editions F-Bodies with a normal 2016 Camaro SS and see where the money went in the price tag. When you do that, I promise you, you will think the Alpha Camaro is a steal! Guys...the Alpha Camaro is much, much more than just a pony car... Once you folk realize what that means, then you wont be bitchin' about the price tag. Especially you SMK... You dont like BMW, but Mercedes Benz has NOTHING in THEIR stable either at ANY price point that beats the Alpha Camaro in performance... The upcoming ZL1 will EMBARRASS German cars twice and three times the ZL1's price tag in ANY performance metric you wanna throw at it! The ecotec turbo 4 also is quite the performer out gunning ANY German car at that price point... THAT is why the Alpha Camaro costs as much as it does..and its a STEAL!

    OK... But... What 2002 V8 Camaro are we talking about? The bare bones Z/28? On par with the V8 Pontiac Firebird? Guys, the V6 Camry in 2002 had a much nicer interior than the bare bones V8 F-Body... The F-Body's interior...well, do I have to sound like I hate the 4rth gen F-Body to prove my point? Because I wont because I happen to LOVE the 4rth gen F-Body pony car. Fast forward to the Alpha Camaro...isnt this Alpha Camaro interior worthy of a 30 000 US dollar car? Because I will tell you straight out, the bare bones F-Body Z/28 barely had a better interior than a 2002 Cavalier Z24. What other things does an Alpha Camaro BASE trim outshine a TOP OF THE LINE 2002 Camaro SS Anniversary Edition? Other than the commemorative badging and striping and the T-Tops... Because I assure you, the hardware under the hood (turbo) and the suspension system even in the turbo ecotec trim car and the bones of the platform are well worth the 2000 price hike over the 2016 Camry comparison versus the 2002 Camry comparison. And let us not talk about the Pontiac Firebird...because the Pontiac pony car was at least 2000 dollars higher in price trim level for trim level versus the Camaro...which leaves us where we are now in 2016...

    Poor 'Bong. Fighting a non-existent war. PS: Those GT500 versus Stingray comparisons are made by your precious car enthusiast magazines... I could post proof of that too....but I wont. You see...like I said... Car magazine auto journalists push their agendas to sell their magazines... So take it up with Scott Evans and Randy Pobst, brah! OK...unto car prices. A Ford Fusion SE ecoboost with the Sony radio thingy Im assuming is about 23 000 US... A Mustang ecoboost goes for about that much too... SMK I believe, said that pony cars' price tags are of those of midsized family sedans in the past... I believe we are about that today too. I hope you folk do not think that the 1971 396 Camaro was of low level mid size price tag back in the day... I hope you folk do not think that the 455 SD Trans Am was as cheap in price as a Lemans sedan... There were inline 6 engines as base engines in the pony cars... Also...let us not forget that Camaro/Firebird and Mustang platforms were based off of compact cars back in the day. The F-Body later became bespoke... Not bespoke platforms (Mustang today) and platforms from luxury car makers... And today's pony cars are not 1 trick ponies either! You got to pay to play. But like I said earlier. 300 horse base 4 cylinder turbo cars are not exactly that entry level either... 1993 LT1 V8 Camaro Z/28 made 275 or 285 horsepower...as a TOP engine. Today, the Alpha Camaro has that as a BASE engine...albeit from a turbo 4 cylinder...but its at a starting point, not at an ending point!

    You are trolling... Remember... The Zeta Camaro in 2009 was full of mediocrity. So was the Mustang in 2009. But that was because there WAS NO CAMARO between the years of 2003 and 2008. And Chevy had this as a replacement Camaro. That right there takes the cake for mediocrity... So 'Bong, relax with the superlatives. There was a time...when GM had nothing to be proud of And yeah...excellence of execution in performance does NOT translate in sales for Camaro. (AS COMPARED TO MUSTANG SALES) That is because there is a lacking of excellence in execution in the aesthetics department. Sex sells... Too bad the Camaro needs a bag over its face...

    That is definitely true that Ford did get caught with their pants down with the Alpha platform Camaro. It was no secret that when GM announced that the next generation Camaro will be off of the small Cadillac ATS Alpha architecture that Ford engineers should hae realized that Cadillac engineers aint taking prisoners with BMW so why would a Camaro be less of a machine? But...any unbiased car enthusiast knew this was going to happen...about how an Alpha Camaro would be a brute. A REAL sports car! But...its not as if a Mustang GT350 cant put up a good fight? The Camaro just way better. We all know. The problem here with the pillow fights is that one CheersandGears member is still behaving like there are fanboys around. There is no more childish trollish fanboys around. This aint the former Motor Trend forums.... Wings is gone too... But this C&G member INSISTS he keep posting like he is fighting a childish Ford versus Chevy war... Why he chooses to do this is beyond comprehension. Yes Yes. Ford dropped the ball. However. The muscle car wars are not over yet. Soon though. For Dodge I fear. The electrics will come eventually. But the V8 story and great handling in Mustang and Camaro has only began to heat up again me thinks. And its good for ALL OF US car guys... No time to be just a Ford guy or just a Chevy. We must love the blondes as much as the brunettes. Here...a song about how I love my girls...and we could translate that to cars.

    Id honestly aim for that target market rather than the diesel one. Why? 1. Honda came back to this market and Ford is doing OK with it in North America while in Europe, this segment is still ballin' The segment is hot enough for money to be made and a situation to keep loyalty with the consumers with the Chevy car brand. 2. Chevy already has the vehicles to lure high tech savvy MPG chasers in the Bolt and Volt. 3. Like I said, VW TDi faithful prolly wont look at the Chevy Cruze Diesel. OK...It wont cost GM anything to try though to get the diesel people. But Id try to lure the speedy segment too. A proper Sonic SS A proper Cruise SS A turbo ecotec Camaro A 3 pronged attack in the small turbo 3 or 4 cylinder engine hot hatch, tuner segment Chevrolet family... Kinda like this commercial suggested way back when with a Cobalt and a Vette

    It largely depends on curb weight and weight distribution. The GT350 weighs in around 3700 pounds. If the ZL1 weighs in at 3900-ish I'd say it's a legit comparo. *SIGH* (Takes a deep breath) OK....where do I begin? I know! Ill start at the first place you do...at an enthusiast automobile magazine website. No. Not Motor Trend. "And they won’t stop wishing for a diesel." Well, that part is true...diesel loyalists are a very faithful bunch. That aint news to anybody, so there was no need for that marketing bullsyte fluff saying that diesel people are more tech savvy than the average customer... Because the way I view it....some diesel people can be quite neanderthal-ic...(I could do MOPAR and Ford diesels, but Ill stick to the Bow Tie guys since this is about the Chevy Diesels Cruze... Which leads me to the next sentence in the 3 sentence quote: "And we’ll go after those customers.” Im sure its an honest to goodness great business plan to go after a niche market that has been left void because of this VW scandal...and its a SMART business choice to go after these people. However: 1. Not all VW diesel buyers bought diesels because they LOVE diesels...(look to point #3) 2. Even some hardcore diesel lovers were put off by this scandal...which Chevy says they are more tech savvy, well, they might just switch to the more tech laden Bolt and Volt...shooting themselves in the bloody foot is what this marketing fluff Dan Nicholson is doing... 3. That is the thing....the REAL hardcore diesel lovers that are supposedly more tech savvy than the rest of us are VW TDi LOVERS and are faithful ONLY TO VOLKSWAGEN....NOT OPEL and CERTAINLY NOT CHEVY!!! Now, I would probably have applauded this move because it really is the smart thing to do to go after a people who now have a void for their next vehicle purchase. I just dont like the marketing PR bullshyte fluffy words chosen. Especially when in GM's OWN stable...tech savvy consumers are buying a SECOND GENERATION Volt rather than a VW TDi...

    Please. Please. Let us NOT complain about price. THAT is the price you pay to play. If not....a regular SS will have to do. And if THAT price tag is too high, then a turbo 4 ecotec is the way to go. Hey...that little 4 cylinder packs nearly 300 horsepower and as much torque. A C4 Vette had wet dreams to have that much under the hood. It took a 1992 LT1 Vette to eek out more power that this little turbo ecotec. (yes yes...1990 ZR1) And please...the ORIGINAL 1969 Camaro ZL1 aluminium big block 427 also had a sky high price tag... The 650/650 club. Its a phoking nice club to be in.... Not to mention the handling characteristics of this beast. (and beast this is....in looks and in performance) I saw my first Challenger Hellcat today. I was full of glee. If I ever come across ANY Camaro ZL1, be it an F-Body or Zeta or Alpha...I will probably shyte myself with glee as much as I had with the Hellcat today. Why? Because tremendously V8 powered muscle car....that is why!!! The sales may not be there... Its because: 1. Its a coupe 2. It aint a SUV 3. Insurance kills these cars. Same reasons why the Camaro died in 2002. Hell, same reasons why all muscle cars died in 1974...

At a Tuesday launch event for Tesla's new Gigafactory, Musk said the Model 3 design was "pencils down" as of two weeks ago, according to a Bloomberg report. With that, Musk says Tesla is on schedule to begin production of the long-awaited Model 3 next summer, though he previously said that it'll take a few months for production to ramp up to full speed. Even before revealing the Model 3 concept in April, Musk said certain features would only be revealed closer to final production. Right now, it's unclear when we'll get to see the production-spec Model 3. Tesla is under an immense amount of pressure with the Model 3, with nearly 400,000 customers depositing $1000 to get in line to buy one. That demand requires the company to ramp up production far beyond its current capacity. There'll be a lot of late nights and long weekends at Tesla if production is to begin in earnest in a year's time." Or maybe because he will begin production of the Model 3 next year? But like how we knew certain features would only be revealed closer to final production, we also knew the Model 3's production would only start sometime next year. Some of us even predict lateness.... I know. I know. You only report the news.
