  1. Rachel...this post makes me want to change my sig pic. I think Ill change it to a Vette... The Daytona 24 hour race C7R with the Ford GT right beside it pic... Thanx for the inspiration.
  2. Thanx Hyper for this post. I like to read your posts when your opinions are logical in this manner. This post gives people on both sides of the fence on Tesla, and EV cars in general, something to think about and ponder. Maybe it wont sway people to change their minds on whatever side they are on about Tesla or EV cars in general, but at least this post is as close to reality as it can get.
  3. I got into Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Johnny Cash too. Thanx to my dad as well. Like you! 1950s country and 1960s crooners was his style.
  4. I agree, Olds. He was sulking.. it wasn't the "most professional" thing to do but it is far from even "bad" in my opinion. Childish..yeah..but is that any worse than what Bill Belichick does every week with the media? We're just used to seeing those pearly whites of Cam that anything that isn't super positive turns into super negative. I just think it's funny how the double standard of certain players can be so vibrant. I love Peyton and I'm glad he won and hopefully he walks away on top of the world and possibly the best qb to have ever played the game..but do find it worse to walk away without shaking hands than to be a child in front of some reporters. Let's be honest here, this is the first time in Cam's LIFE that he's ever lost something meaningful that he was supposed to win. He doesn't know how to lose yet. He has gotten WORLDS better than when he first came into the league because he was quite pissy after games then too but he's matured a lot and still has a lot to keep going. He's young and hopefully this loss teaches him some thing. Mainly, how to lose and how to win. He also has to earn how to win. I dont mean that he has to start winning. He has to learn to not gloat every time there is a touchdown made... Listen CCAP...like I said, all this is media fueled bullshyte. Yet, some of it, he has brought it on himself. I get that in football, in American football, it is quite the normal thing to showboat 1. when you sack the quarterback, 2. make a single touchdown...7 or 8 minutes into the FIRST QUARTER and the score in 7-0... 3. and then make another touchdown in the SECOND Quarter with another 3-4 minutes left before half-time and the score is now TIED... 4. make a catch that is an instant 1st down and maybe gain another yard before getting tackled and are at the 45 yard line...YOUR 45 yard line... get what it is Im trying to say... SHOWBOATING is getting really really tiring, and CAM seems to be thinking that he is still at the college level... Not that im against Cam...Im not... In my original post, I said that football players DONT sulk... They simply DONT... Football players are supposed to be the toughest, meanest SOB athletes on the planet... There are exemptions of course...rugby and Australian rules rugby players and Lacrosse players come to mind...but American Football players are supposed to be even tougher than HOCKEY guys... Yes, he shaked the hands of the players that defeated him...and THAT is why this is all media fueled BULLSHYTE... MY problem is that he sulked... I HATE the media for doing what they are doing... MY personal beef is that he sulked...I dont care if its the first time he lost... OK...cry at the press conference...answer the bloody questions like a man...dont be a man-child...a wussy and a p u s s y ... I would prefer if his character was more like Barry Bonds... Barry really did not give a phoque to what media and fans thought of him... He KNEW he was a GREAT player and THAT is all that mattered... He also knew that REAL fans ALSO knew he was a great player! Cam is a FANTASTIC player....his ATTITUDE on the filed sucks and now his attitude OFF the field too... What attitude? His demeanor and how HE reacts when HE makes a play and now how HE reacts how he loses... Example... One of the last plays he made before the Superbowl was over... After the snap, Cam has the ball, he turns to his right, and starts running to his right as he sees there is a bloody good chance he will get sacked...he leaves the pocket and finally releases the ball, to nowhere but he does get tackled...a fraction after he releases the ball, he hits his helmet where his ears are... like a child which is OK, but he also yells at the ref for not calling it roughing...by his gesture of hitting his helmet where his ears are...that looked to me that he is having a TANTRUM...like a child...then he yells at the ref...because he got tackled??? ITS FOOTBALL... PHOQUE the 5-10 yard penalty...get your ass ready for another snap and DO IT YOURSELF!!! FIND THE ENDZONE YOURSELF!!!! REAL CHAMPS FIND A WAY TO WIN!!! EXAMPLE: Tim Thomas...Boston Bruins goalie...the score is 4-0 for Boston...4-0 for Boston...he hits the Vancouver player so he could prevent the puck to fall unto that Vancouver player's stick so the score could STAY 4-0...risks a penalty...but its OK...the Vancouver player is on the ice...and did not score! Needless to say...the Bruins went on to win the Stanley Cup... What the Vancouver player should have done...is RUN Tim Thomas down...NOT the other way around... Why? He probably would have gotten a penalty...it does not matter, you JUST INTIMIDATED the BRUINS goalie in telling him...you may have won game 6...but game 7...your ass is mine... What Tim Thomas said to Sedin, by hitting him...was exactly that...we won game 6...and game 7 is MINE! Just a thought process I have for Cam Newton going forward. Yeah...he sure has to learn a lot. About the NFL... I love the NFL...I dont like the NFL culture...(im starting to not like the NFL as a league though) I dont like the NHL...as a league...very amateurish as compared to the MLB, NFL and NBA... But I LOVE the NHL culture... Showboating, it hardly exists...It exists only when it counts... And the players still have the option to police themselves... If an opposing coach/player does dumb, offensive, insulting, demeaning, excessive showboating...the league still tolerates fighting... So...what Cam or Ocho Cinco or anybody else does that rubs another opposing player the wrong way...in the NHL, fights still exists to which dumb gestures like that are kept at bay... OK...fighting is coming to an end too, but...at least the NHL culture does not breed dumb showboating at the same time...so there becomesa less and less need to fight...the players themselves respect the game and each other....something that the NFL sorely lacks...and hence the dumb media idiots that represent the NFL...
  5. I always meant to reply to this and I never did... I had older parents. My dad was born in 1926 in Montreal and my mom in 1935. And my mom was born in Greece. So... By the time Rock-N-Roll came around, my dad was already at an age where that kind of music was simply just noise. He wasnt a rock-a-billy of any sorts. Sure, Goodness Gracious Great Balls Of Fire and We're Gonna Rock Around the Clock Tonight, We're Gonna Rock Rock Rock 'Til Broad Daylight, and See Ya Later Alligator were tunes that he did enjoy, 1950s Rock-N-Roll is where he drew the line. 1960s were just rebellious crap to him. My mom was born in Greece. She came to Canada in 1967. She met my dad the year after and got married that very same year. She brought Greek Music into the life of my dad. And, coincidentally, Greek music and Greek film was at an epic level at that point in time so that also helped my dad get re-acquainted with his ancestral culture. So...when I was born in 1973...obviously by that time, especially when I was a teenager in the 1980s, Rock was not exactly music that both welcomed with open arms in our home. Yeah, they let me listen to my music, but it was during my time. On car trips and such, it was Greek radio stations and the like. When I was in the car alone with my dad was the only time I listened to "English" music in the car... I always had a walkman...since the first ones that Sony introduced, and THAT is how I learned about music. Because just before falling asleep, I would listen to the radio on my Walkman with my ear phones being introduced to incredible sounds and music from all eras. Also baseball. I would listen to the Montreal Expos play on the radio. During the early 1980s, I was more of a baseball fan than I was a hockey fan. I loved hockey, I loved baseball even more. And my friends all had older brothers. Montreal was also a city that embraced on the radio waves all genres. Rock, Disco... I consider myself lucky as I got introduced to 1950s and 1960s and 1970s rock through that Walkman and my friends' brothers did the rest with late 1970s and 1980s music...disco and dance rock/pop of the 1980s included as well as Punk Rock and Hard Rock and what was called Heavy Metal then... And let us not forget the Greek music...my mom had vinyl LPs from the 1950s/1960s and 1970s that had all the great musical explosion and revolution of that Greek time period...I still have those LPs. As the years went by in the 1990s, and music, popular music over the radio waves got crappier and crappier, I found myself searching for more 1950s/1960s and 1970s sounds. And with the invention of the internet and Youtube....Im in heaven as I keep on discovering new OLD music from a time when music made came from the soul.
  6. CCAP... Concerning Cam.. All media fueled bullshyte. There is only one thing I didnt like about Cam, he was sulking at that interview... He should have taken it like a professional football player, like a MEAN football player. The way he handled it he was more of a grade school girl. Football players are not supposed to sulk... What he should have done, is be more like baseball's Barry Bonds, the media hated him too, only because he was not soft with the media, and he didnt give a phoque... Cam was asked very dumb questions, just like Barry Bonds...Barry let the media know the questions were stupid... Barry also lost a championship, you should have heard how he handled the media... Sure, he faced scruntiny, what difference does that make? Cam also faced scrutiny and he handled that situation quite the opposite way of the way Barry handled it...so...'tis better to let the media have it rather than be soft...
  7. Yeah...Im guilty as "HELL" in rehashing the merits and the praises of the Hellcat. Im spellbound by her charms. She has got me in her sights and she simply wont let go of me. Im a prisoner of her love!
  8. Id like to see hpw the CHEVROLET Bolt does in Texas too... Because the CHEVROLET Silverado does well in Texas...actually, ANY gas guzzling pick-up truck and full-sized BOF SUV does well in Texas... According to their logic, and we all know who "they" is....if the Bolt happens to flop in Texas, in which I have a funny feeling it will, will that mean that Chevrolet's electric car program should be ceased and desisted?
  9. Dodge showroom... Ahem...MOPAR showroom... Oh and BLU... a 1977 Trans Am 6.6 liter 400 motor was crap..yeah I know...I pictured 1979 model...a 1979 model gained a tad more performance...still crap The torque part helped move the car...but...the car did not move fast enough...not enough to warrant all that gold striping and screaming chickens and scoops... By God dude...it wasnt a 455SD...now was it? 1973 Trans Am 455SD 0-60 about 5 seconds 1/4 mile about mid 13s @ 105 mph? Pretty respectable, even by today's insane performance stats... 1977 6.6 liter Trans Am 0-60 in like 11 seconds 1/4 mile in like 17 seconds... 1979 6.6 liter with the 220 Hp 320 ft/lbs torque....not too shabby...for 1979... 0-60 in about 7 seconds 1/4 mile in 15 seconds... Not too bad at all actually for the 1979 model... In any case though, concerning a Black and Gold Bandit Trans Am...all show and no go...considering a 1973 model with the same fender scoops and similar hood shakers blew the doors off its later year brethren...
  10. Count me in on that thought as well. Money be damned on this level. CCAP and maybe even you have said this before... The 5.2 liter flat plane crank V8 is worth more than the price of admission for this car. Oh...Hellcat Challenger too...I would take over the Camaro... And he Hellcat is a beast on wheels. Not a light ballerina like the Camaro... Oh...and DAT straight line speed, the Hellcat just kills it!
  11. And that is the argument both of you want to represent? In Montreal...where 100 000 dollar cars are not exactly a thing...because well, the money in Quebec...is not existent practically, and what little money some people do make...its taxed like you wouldnt believe...and yet...Tesla Model S are EVERYWHERE...P85Ds even...and only growing... And this is the part of the problem of Reg's argument... 100 000 dollar cars are a niche...a small niche Electric cars are an even smaller niche... Yet...the Model S has managed to outsell equivalent priced cars form Mercedes and BMW and Audi...and Cadillac... You say California? Well, its because California is electric car friendly...so is Quebec... Michigan is HOSTILE towards electric cars...so...I bet you Tesla does not fare well in Michigan... Try again...
  12. And little Ocn would stand up and take notice if it was a hot smooth ripped Asian Man! BLU, your "where's the beef" avatar pic suits this situation perfectly... You know...Asian men..and small... Yeah, I think Mr. DFELT's assumption of your affection to Asian men and you asking where's the beef is quite accurate on Mr. DFELT's part.
  13. lol if you can make them paint the hood body color or something like that mustang, or any mach 1 of the past, or ANY kind of striping that GM has done in the past. Again, that picture has body color all around the black and a pinstripe around it as well.. Still not the same. I see what you are saying CCAP...but the Hellcat does the same thing here...plus it has all kinds boy racer vents...sure functional, but very ricer... So...like I said, I UNDERSTAND what it is you are saying... The BIG question here is...could one actually say that the ORIGINAL ricer cars be the muscle cars? Big Wings... All show and no go decals... Wings again... Scoops? Muscle cars got plenty of those... All show and no go scoops in this muscle car...2 of them...

Sponsored by... yet another link... http://www.autoblog.com/2011/08/12/electric-chevy-camaro-tears-down-1-4-mile-in-10-08-seconds/
  15. You and I are always almost on the same page. And when we are not...its juts a couple of differing footnotes... I dont know how to respond to this emotion that you just opened up... On one hand, a Camaro, like a Corvette, should ALWAYS be about crude oil,on the other hand, time to grow up and put away childish things, time to put some real muscle into that power train....and nothing is more powerful than the anger of a God and his thunder bolts... Dead dinosaurs or I think its time for Camaro to start shoving lightning bolts down the Mustang's ass!!!
  16. The Volt...1st generation...was built off the Cruze platform. The Delta II Yup...that is what competition does, it pushes anyone who wants to compete to be better. Everybody. The underdogs, the champs, the newbies, the veterans...everybody. Why are we always pushing Tesla out of the competition? Yes....GM, Porsche and other car manufacturers will make Tesla squirm with their new product coming out. But, isnt Tesla competent enough to counter with new engineering solutions of their own to put the hurt on GM, Porsche and others? All of a sudden, we are going in a direction where we are writing off Tesla's contributions and future engineering endeavors and finding comfort in the old guard' ways... GM...is CURRENTLY gonna recall 450 000 full sized pick-ups for faulty brake pedal assemblies....the brake pedals might fall off and well, that is a pile of not good... What does a recall have to do with this... Because...the old guard is just as susceptible and CAPABLE in fumbling the ball and just HANDING victory to its competition... Tesla, independent or not...is here to stay... And I would be betting my money on Tesla STAYING independent... Why? GM just announced that they will try to stretch the length of time in which they could use a platform... THAT may make others to follow suit... THAT BENEFITS Tesla a whole lot! Thanx for the links, I will read them later as Im off to work.
  17. I may have been harsh with the half-ass comment....Im just a tad peeved that some of us cant have an adult conversation about EVs without resorting to adolescent thoughts of renouncing a car company and especially a technology that is actually the future. What I did mean about half-ass is that Tesla builds a DEDICATED electric car platform, Chevrolet adapts a regular gasoline powered platform for their full on electric car. The only way I can actually say that a 30-40 thousand all electric vehicle could destabilize Tesla's Model 3 is if General Motors actually engineered the Bolt like Tesla is with the Model 3... IE: A bespoke platform... Imagine how much better a Bolt could be? Yes I know...there are many ways one could engineer something that will yield the same results... Problem is.... Tesla is actually the bench mark here. The Model 3 is what the Bolt needs to beat. Not the other way around. General Motors does not have a Model S competitor... No...not ludicrous speed electric sedan... But 200 mile plus range that seats 5 in comfort electric sedan... As many as SUVs GM sells, none are pure electric... Tesla, has one... Congrats for GM for getting a small econobox style all out EV to sell... Tesla has 2 EVs out...and a third coming. We could all find problems with gull wing doors on that SUV, but as of now...it is the ONLY game in town... We could all find problems with a lacking EV product for the masses, one that GM beat Tesla to the market...however, s much as I think the Bolt will sell, I think many will wait until Tesla comes out with the Model 3... Why? Because Tesla has got game! Tesla is fast becoming synonymous with electric cars... Kinda like Coke, Kleenex, Windex, Vaseline, Aspirin, BandAid, Xerox... In a very short time, Tesla rolls of the mouths of people... While its true, financing and manufacturing new platforms for vehicles is vastly expensive, and I understand the fear for Tesla folding because of...those reasons... But...their cars have to magically be NOT desirable for people to stop buying them in order for that to happen. And...their competition needs cars to compete with them... So far....there arent any cars to compete DIRECTLY with Tesla... The Bolt? Sure... But...what if the Model 3 cleans the Bolt's pipes? What if...the Model X becomes the new "Escalade"? Because I see a lot of fear mongering towards Tesla... But Tesla has fast become a status symbol...what if...the fear mongering goes the OTHER way? What if...the Model X steals Cadillac Escalade's thunder and becomes the SUV? Stranger things have happened... General Motors did go bankrupt... Who ever thunk that would ever happen? Ford also nearly went under... Who thought that that the Detroit so called Big 3 would fail on the economy side of things? Funny that some of us foresee Tesla going under...with much bravado information...yet some of us forget that the "Big 3" had their asses handed to them by much smaller foreign companies...companies that today, have become huge...and yet...the same type of people DID laugh at those other smaller foreign companies during the 1970s and 1980s... PS: This aint directed towards you DFELT...you and I are on the same page... PSS: Im being melodramatic...its the Greek in me...but...its also me reciprocating the doom and gloom melodrama Im confronting here...
  18. Yet...some still wanna dismiss Tesla... Porsche comes out with an EV... Tesla competitor that will eat Tesla's lunch they say... Bentley makes an EV... Tesla competitor that will steal Tesla's candy bar... Chevy makes the Bolt... Tesla competitor that will kick Tesla in the nuts... Yet...unconsciously, these haters of Tesla are unknowingly giving praise to Tesla... How? Like You said Suave...they themselves acknowledge Tesla's presence by comparing Tesla with the supposed old guard greats... "Either way, pretty shocking, how a company, with its first in-house developed car can be catapulted with the likes of the most well recognized and prestigious automakers in the world." and its these very haters that seem to compare Tesla cars to the greats by actually admitting that Tesla is in competition to these cars...actually....they admit that the cars that Porsche, Bentley, Chevy will eventually bring out are TESLA competitors...TESLA, will acquire competition...Telsa will acquire competition...meaning Tesla is the benchmark that needs to be dethroned... And they say...without any embarrassment, that Tesla is but a blip on the radar...and rookies building cars... And yet Tesla...is the ONLY pure 100% all electric vehicles on sale with 200 mile ranges...2 models...and counting... With an engineered platform that is solely for voltage power... Porsche's attempt is not for awhile... Chevy's Bolt is from a Sonic... The Volt is form a Cruze... It is to laugh... Tesla will continue to exist boys... Because electric power is the future...and it seems the old guard has no idea how to achieve the future....they still half-ass the EV...
  19. Burning rubber... AC/DC style... High Voltage Rock-N-Roll
  20. Doom and Gloom...*yawn* Enjoy your tiny blip on the radar screen, BLU.
  21. I used own one of those brand new in the day...a teal/aqua blue green 1994 4 door GT...3.1 liter V6. I loved it. However, I would have preferred to have bought a 3.4 liter DOHC 1994 4 door Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme instead...
  22. heavily photoshopped? And your point is? Who in the Entertainment world isnt heavily photoshopped? Even those young lassies in that OBJ commercial were probably heavily photoshopped... And Tesla knows how to pl;ay the game...so much so...that the old guard likes to play dirty with them...
  23. Yep, I liked those too. I liked Tom Petty as well. I was talking to me partner today, he threw a Superbowl party. Always does. Def Leppard should do one!
  24. I had to google that. Not sure what you found via googling, but 'B' = Beyonce. Some call it 'curves', some call it 'thick', I call it what it is : fat. She fat, and I'm not talking about phat. Yes...exactly. I got from the urban dictionary: fat, chunky, junk in the trunk, obese... So I immediately knew you were talking about my Beyonce post... Even white boys got to shout Baby got back! Ill spare you guys with yet another video!
  25. At least the hockey team is a Chevy... And Chevy named a truck after the state..and my Jeep is named after a city on the Texas-Mexico border.. Not a Beyonce fan...her routine looked too much like something from Janet Jackson 20 years ago... but Gaga's performance of the National Anthem was great... I forgot about Colorado...I was thinking about the Avalanche...silly me... Honestly, I was not really paying attention to the show, I was perving her. I skipped the National Anthem... Sorry. Tell you what though. Ill stand up for 4 minutes for this rendition: (partly because I dont do Gaga either!, Hendrix ROCKS!)
