Chevrolet News:2017 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel To Begin At $24,670
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
Thanks! Makes me wonder what trim my buddy has because I doubt he got anything fancy as it still has cloth seats and I don't believe the nav screen either. I'd think a good amount of hear buyers we close to the base trim with a package or small things added. I hope GM does well with this but the prices seem a little steep for entry. I believe it is one of 2-3 in this class that is technically a "mid-size" with how much it has grown. -
Chevrolet News:2017 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel To Begin At $24,670

Ugh.. I HATE that they force you into such a high trim on this. I mean, likely, that's what I would want but it sucks for those who just want a cheap commuter with insane mileage. 26k is nuts, IMO. @Frisky Dingo do you know what the Jetta TDI started at? -
Chevrolet News:GM Is Ready To Lose Close To $9,000 On Every Bolt Sold
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
The 40% loss is just how every manufacturer will say if your engine burns up to 1qt of oil every thousand miles it is still "normal". Just don't buy an Audi EV. lol Basically, it shouldn't happen and is just there to cover their ass.- 254 replies

That's kind of their problem is that is all they REALLY have going for them right now. The GTI/Jetta platform are exactly that, phenominal, but the rest of their lineup is very "meh".

Dodge News: Dodge Challenger Adds All-Wheel Drive for 2017

So we're back to limiting the ownership of these cars to well populated areas that can plow snow effectively because it's necessary. I'm experienced some in snow but are you experienced in rural areas that don't get plowed at all?- 83 replies

Dodge News: Dodge Challenger Adds All-Wheel Drive for 2017
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Dodge
No, it's just a stupid idea. I don't WANT the Challenger to be a piece of sh!t and dated. I WANT it to be great and compete to push the Mustang and Camaro more like great competition does.- 83 replies

Dodge News: Dodge Challenger Adds All-Wheel Drive for 2017

14.5-14.8 in the 1/4 2.0T Escape 15.2-15.5 The Cherokee V6 lays almost directly on top of that with the Grand Cherokee behind them by a couple/few tenths. Exactly, JUST BUY A CHARGER AWD! They start almost $3,000 cheaper as well. Yeah a "sporty" car that is only a few inches off the ground will be a huge hit when there are 12 inches of snow on the ground. Then we're back to the AWD system and what it can and cannot handle.- 83 replies

Dodge News: Dodge Challenger Adds All-Wheel Drive for 2017
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Dodge
So you narrowed the population down to like 5 people. 1: You and everybody in the US knows it is a SUV/CUV craze happening, not coupes 2: Add an AWD system to an already bloated car and performance is..like the Cherokee 3: How many people "won't own a vehicle w/ 4 doors"? Again, almost none. This is supported by the SUV/CUV sales and car sales being down. 4: Narrow that field down to the northern third of the US and you have 5 people who will buy these.- 83 replies

GM would also put a proper "athletic" AWD system in the Camaro that would likely be capable of SS duties as well. Not just whatever is on the shelf(okay maybe they would because of the ATS/CTS).- 83 replies

Dodge News: Dodge Challenger Adds All-Wheel Drive for 2017

It just doesn't make any sense at all to me. Buy a Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, Charger/300, Ford Edge, the new Equinox and Traverse do everything better... You can get a 4X4 Cherokee Laredo E(Not sure what the "E" is for but it's a step up from the Laredo by $2,000) for less money than this Challenger.- 83 replies

Chevrolet News:GM Is Ready To Lose Close To $9,000 On Every Bolt Sold

There are already second gen Volt's for sale in the low-mid 20's. Used Volts seem like one hell of a bargain if you ask me. Unless you need a lot of space.. They just seem great.- 254 replies

I'm not sure if you're interested in the used marker but there are first gen Volts for sale in the 13-15k range with very very reasonable miles. That's where I will likely look. You're also fortunate enough to live in a climate which is almost optimum for EV batteries. ..or maybe not as 100+ degree days is rough on them as is temps down to the teens.. But I see both of those in the nasty mid west.- 254 replies

Chevrolet News:GM Is Ready To Lose Close To $9,000 On Every Bolt Sold
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
I actually met somebody who has a Leaf and they freakin' love the thing. I was talking to the husband but it's his wife's car. She actually commutes about 25 miles each way to work which isn't the shortest distance for a car that doesn't have a ton of range but he said they save a ton with it. If people were practical and actually ran the numbers I'd wager pretty good money that 100 miles of range would cover 95% of people's daily activities which makes the Bolt look even better. People criticize over range anxiety(myself included) when there are such rare instances that you would need to drive over 200 miles at a single stint anyway. Whenever I have a house of my own, I will absolutely own a Volt(which will be a cure for my range anxiety). Most of my days are driving 10-20 miles and a charge at night I'd almost never use gas. I would likely have to not charge it every once in awhile so the gas doesn't go bad.- 254 replies

Lol 60,000? They are that big of pieces of $h!? Plus, with 5 cars it really wouldn't get driven much. But as a "dream garage" I have to assume nobody is really considering maintenance and that $h! otherwise I'd just swap it for a GT500/ZL1.

EXACTLY! There are so many other vehicle out there for similar money(higher and lower) that do the job of this so much better. It isn't like this 3.6 is going to win many drag races matched to a 4500lb sled. realistically(and sadly) my 2.0T Escape probably won't be far behind this in a race. and it does all of the other things this is supposed to do...better.. AWD/4WD Jeep Cherokee 3.6 is in the same ballpark.- 83 replies

Both the ZL1 and 911 S were on my list as well...I ended up axing them but they were there. I did see a handful of 2006-2007 Carreras and a couple 'S's as well without a zillion miles on them.
