The Canyon is not AWD, it is 2WD or 4WD like most trucks. There is no difference in the Denali. The Denali trucks and full-size SUVs, and Escalade used to come with active full-time AWD, but they are now 2wd/4wd. See that makes sense but I could have sworn I read something about an AWD system. Ohhhhh well. Thanks! Okay, FOUND IT! Well.. what I was talking about... "Rear drive is standard, but our tester was equipped with the optional full-time four-wheel-drive system. " http://www.motortrend.com/news/2016-gmc-canyon-duramax-diesel-4x4-first-test-review/ I guess when I read "full-time four-wheel-drive system." It made me think AWD.

Okay, I thought when I was reading one of the new Canyon reviews in the past few weeks that I read something like "active all wheel drive" or "full time all wheel drive" in one of the reviews but I couldn't find it later when I had time. I was confused. I thought it was 2WD or 4WD not an AWD-anything. Anyway anybody could confirm yes or no to this? The Canyon is not AWD, it is 2WD or 4WD like most trucks. Yet this is only 4x4, not AWD like the Skyhawk. So that is one difference or am I missing something else that is a major difference? Are you having a stroke? Sniffing too much CNG? LOL this is the second funny typo you've made. Skyhawk is a Buick. Trailhawk is a Jeep. The Trailhawk is a 4x4 system is the same as the Limited's and Overland's with Active-Drive II, it just has a locking rear differential. Jeep outlines the differences of all of their 4x4 systems on a single page. Too many different systems, I'm out! They lost me past 5-6. Sorry Jeep, You're apparently just too complex for me.

Well just showing your shareholders you're not going under could be enough to lie about it. If you show terrible numbers and all investors bail.. then you're more scored. If you show massive gains then it is obvious. Just show small gains or staying afloat might be able to fly under the radar.

Kind of... on the Grand Cherokee though there are additional off-road capabilities added. On this one, it gets a tiny (and I mean really tiny) increase in ride height. So it's not quite a luxury package then? On the Grand Cherokee it is. On this, well... that's less clear. I would imagine when the new Jeep 3-row crossover comes it will have a lux package on it and be called Overland. Hmmm.. Alright.. So it more-or-less just says it is the top trim, whatever that may be. Stupid Jeep.

Any idea of when we might hear something about the power figures? I was hoping we would have heard it in Detroit.

There is nothing about the Continental chassis that Audi isn't doing in some form or another. But they have the longitudinal engine, 8-speed automatic (even though they bought it from ZF rather than make their own), and their C/D segment platforms are a bit more capable than the VW and A4 level stuff. But the A6 and A8 aren't really lighting up the sales chart anyway. The BMW and Mercedes sedans eat up the A6 and A8, and I think in part due to the rwd chassis, 50/50 weight balance, excessive nurburgringing, etc. I find the big Audi sedans to be rather dull and lacking in gravitas... neither of which are the case for the Continental. All-wheel drive systems these days are so advanced that it no longer matters which way the engine is facing. Even my little Encore can send 50% of the torque to the rear wheels when needed.... and I was playing in a snow covered parking lot in Detroit just to try it, I can actually kick the rear end out. I know the XTS can do something like 90% to the rear wheels, so i fully expect the advanced Continental AWD to do the same. I could very well be wrong but can't the new trick system in the RS send up to 100% to an individual wheel?

The last couple of pages is a few ppl talking about which can to put in the 6.0. I don't remember where he first brought up the 6.0 though. I wish I had the time, money, and mechanical skill to even be able to do something like that. It'd be great to find a 5.4 from a truck for dirt cheap and build it and cram it in a 99-04 mustang(my fav body). Really only to have something different lol

327 Camaro, anybody? This one is for Olds! I had to quote you to make sure you saw it. lol. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/3773462/1 In all seriousness, this guy put a lot of time and energy into this build and it's awesome. And yet..I still missed it!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-YqaTDDCDM Yes Ray Charles...meaning IM BLIND!!! Haha well I'm glad you still found it! Did you read through the thread at all? The guy did some real work on that car. He's working on building a 6.0 for it though to "throw" in it. I thought it was awesome that he wanted to buy a brand new Camaro but when he saw the prices for the V8 opted to build his own V8 camaro.

This is one of those comments that I want to "like" but at the same time "hate" because it is true. I want to show that I agree...but hate it.. Ya know? One of those confusing posts like "my Grandma has cancer" on facebook. You want to show support by "liking" but you don't actually LIKE that she has cancer... Okay enough rambling. You get my point at this point!

It also seems like there could be an insane amount of tune-ability with something like this. -
Koenigsegg’s Camshaft-less Engine Explained, Watch It in Action [Video]

Pretty gosh dang impressive if you ask me! The one thing that scares me is knowing there are even MORE electronics under the hood. -
"Suck, squeeze, bang, blow. These are the four cycles of the reciprocating, internal-combustion engine (ICE) Nikolaus Otto patented in the 19th century. The action of the intake valves that allow an engine to breathe and the exhaust valves that let it expel spent gases were, until very recently, defined by a shaft of eccentric lobes rotating twice as fast as the engine’s crankshaft. Cams still spin twice as fast as the crank in the modern engine, but advances like camshaft phasing, or changing the relative opening and closing of valves in relation to the crank position, thus improving efficiency and performance, are commonplace. Honda’s VTEC actually changes the cam profile, increasing valve-event duration and lift at high rpm. BMW and Nissan have variable intake-valve lift systems that actually control the amount of intake air, as opposed to a physical throttle." http://blog.caranddriver.com/koenigseggs-camshaft-less-engine-explained-watch-it-in-action-video/

It's really just the center console area that appears to have the most changed(probably the ONLY as well). This is what mine/pre '17's looks like.
-
Drew, What do you think about the updated interior(after seeing them in person)? The whole center console appears to be changed. It also appears that they got rid of the stupid "dials" for the heated seats. While I think they look super cheap they work great because you can leave it on for when you start your car.
-
^ That hood goes on for daaaaaayyyyyzzzzzzzz! And I love it! Comparing those two I have to give an easy nod to the Conti in the seating department. Those new seats in the Conti look pretty spectactular and 30 ways to adjust them?!?! EVERYBODY will find a comfortable spot. Other than that there are highs and lows to both interiors that leave me in the middle without seeing them both in person.

This might sound stupid but those are leather seats in the above pic, right? The pattern make them look like cloth. Assuming they are leather, they probably look super awesome in person.

I completely agree. The only thing I could think of is maybe in FWD form it gets pretty dang good mpg, for what it is. But yes, the other two, heck even the Nissan, all do the small truck thing so much better.

No, several is still 3 or more, 2 is a couple. It isn't that they offer more, but price it out option for option and they are far less expensive than an equally sized SUV from another manufacturer. Even Cheaper than their own Renegade. Did you not read both of your definitions that you posted? The second one was ": different and separate That would constitute two separate "anythings" being "several". And in this case it is bailouts. Two bailouts at completely different times and separate would be "several" Yes, they cost less because they are all around cheaper. Stand next one then stand next to any other CUV they compete with and it's a no-brainer that they just don't compete at all. That is why Jeep has the Cherokee and Renegade. Those are very much class competitive and definitely leading when it comes to certain aspects.
