  1. About exactly like the title says. What new vehicles are you anxiously awaiting a read about?? I know I'm really excited to read about a few vehicle.. On the obvious side, GT350/R. Then on the less obvious side is the new Tacoma. Nissan Titan XD and Continental. The new Titan with a Cummins 5.0..That thing has potential to really shake up the half ton segment. By no means do I think it'll dethrone the D3 but I think it will make great competition and hopefully one of the D3 will make something competitive to it. I believe it is rated 350hp and 550tq. Not too long ago that was the big diesel numbers. Now it's a "mid sized" diesel. The Continental makes me really curious about their new twin turbo 3.0 and what transmission(10? 9? speeds) and how well they tune said transmisison as we all have read not everybody nails the tuning on their first go around. Shoot, I almost forgot about the new Focus RS! So..That too!
  2. I hope this means that it'll look a lot like this in production form. Also, I hope there is a "not everything dipped in chrome" version. That would look a lot better, IMO.
  3. Yeah, but that's for your basic 4-cylinder Malibu.... something high end like a Corvette one would think the purchaser would be more attune to the needs of the engine during the break in period. I completely agree.. but in today's society if it isn't written in front of your face it'll come back to who made it's fault. Good find!
  4. Agreed on personally breaking them in but I'm pretty sure manuals don't specify break in periods on anything really anymore. And if so its really short like 500 miles.. I think if I ever bought anything brand new I'd change the oil at 1000 miles then 3000 miles then every 5000 after that. I know modern engines and oil can easily hit 10000 mile intervals it's just the old school in me that has a hard time trusting that..even when there's proof otherwise..
  5. Saw this..Thought it was interesting. Thought I'd share. I haven't read it all yet because I gotta get going some place but thought I'd post it real quick. " Last time we checked in on the reportedly fussy Corvette Z06 engine, it was leaking vital fluids after Fox News reporter Gary Gastelu took it to the track. Now it appears that Chevrolet has a fix for at least one of the Z06’s reported engine problems: change the oil, stat. According to a General Motors spokesman, the catastrophic engine failures all seem to have three things in common: early production builds, oil contamination and low miles (under 2,000). (Maybe that explains the one that bought the farm at 891 miles.) According to Chevrolet, contaminants in the oil can cycle through the engine during break-in, causing all sorts of fun for owners. (We haven’t heard official word from some owners as to what exactly went wrong, but we’re efforting.) ..." 6. Hahahaha oopsies.. Sorry.. not my cup-a-tea color.. I think the Ford has a little more of a pink to it. I know nothing about the AWD system in those Fusions. I'd have to read up on it before making a decision. I know 99% of the time I wouldn't be utilizing it anyway so I'd probabl just rock the FWD in it. Yeah, it's not a dig at Ford's AWD. I just don't see the point of anything less than a torque vectoring system unless you get a lot of snow or live up a dirt road. People equate AWD with performance and 9 times out of 10 that's wrong, or they assume they're getting real 4WD and think they're invincible in bad conditions. People also think tires don't matter if you have AWD/4WD. The Escape forum I'm on people say how bad the AWD is on the Escape when really the OEM tires aren't made for snow. They're an "all-season" but definitely leaning towards the summer and rainy months not the snowy ones. I had a lot of tread on my tires last winter and they felt quite sketchy at low speeds when we got snow. Sketchier than they should have been for the tread depth they had(7/32nds). I realize it is for "emerency" situations and not a free reign to drive like a jackass. Most don't realize that though. It REALLY grinds my gears when somebody is riding with me and want me to drive more aggressive or faster when it's raining or snowy/slushy.. Stupid. Ignorant. People.
  7. My mom has a '12 Fusion and loves it. 2.5L engine, FWD(I don't think AWD was even available then with the smaller engine). I REALLY like the '13+ Fusions. I wish my parents would have held out for them but her Grand Prix was starting to run up the maintenance bills quicker than they liked so it was about time. What kind of mileage do you get out of that with the 2.0 and AWD? I would have to believe ~3-4mpg better than I get in my Escape with the 2.0 and AWD. I prefer the 2010-12 body style Fusion. I thought the Malibu LTZ 3.6L and Fusion Sport 3.5L were really great unsung American cars. They drove as well as any sporty Japanese FWD and looked great doing it, just too bad they didn't offer manual transmissions. Fusion Sports still catch my eye when I spot one. They catch my eye too. I saw one just yesterday, ugly color.. it was that half red, half maroon, half pink(yes. three halves. ). Funny "story". When I was selling my Mach 1 I had some guy offer to trade me his Fusion Sport AWD straight up for my Mach 1. Monetarily, it was pretty fair actually. I just didn't want the hassel of trying to sell that and then being another owner on the title decreases value.. Just wasn't worth the work, imo. I think it also had just a little more miles on it than i wanted to buy with. Hahaha you just described the red jewel tintcoat on my Malibu. I'll just assume it looks worse on the Ford for some reason. I'd forgo the passive AWD. FWD is lighter and more nimble. Hahahaha oopsies.. Sorry.. not my cup-a-tea color.. 8. 'Bong? oh.. wait.. STEW! Hey man! lol
  9. I avoid Sync even at the rental car counter, so I would certainly avoid it when purchasing a car. With CUE there is a lag on the buttons, but thing generally work the first time you get a successful "press", and I dislike the capacities touch controls, but most things work properly. It recognizes my speech. It doesn't work perfectly, but it does work. MFT never, not once, recognized my voice commands the entire time I had the last Ford. It would get my commands hilariously wrong. The lag is terrible, the UI and UX are both terrible. When the system gets "busy" doing something, even the hardware buttons display lag. The best system out there at the moment is still the larger uConnect system. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of the really top end systems, but everything just seems to operate smoothly and as expected. And sadly, in terms of car infotainment systems, "meets expectations" is about the highest rating available at the moment. I've never encountered your frustrations.. The only time I ever even have to touch the screen is to change audio inputs. Otherwise my temp controls have physical buttons and the phone has buttons on the steering wheel. There is lag, I won't deny that. But I do'nt mind or even notice it when I'm in motion. I don't have time to stare at a screen anyway, I'm driving. But if I were parked and messing with things, it would be quite frustrating indeed. I've only used the voice recognition ting a handful of times but it's gotten what I've said the first time. Granted, I talk to it like it's a foreigner who needs crisp english to understand what I'm saying. lol Oh, I don't have nav in mine. That could make a difference. If I was trying to use a nav and it was a pain in the ass I would be super frustrated.

  12. Cardinals gave up 7 runs in the first inning yesterday.. in a game that I had an opportunity to watch almost all of it. That sucked. But we came back to make it 7-5 in the 8th. But then gave up 3 more runs in the 9th.. lost 10-5. Also, NFL network just wasn't working yesterday for whatever reason. I couldn't watch my Cowboys first preseason game. I typically enjoy the first three quarters to see how the 1's and 2's play and whos progressing and who may or may not make the 53 man roster. The 4th quarer in preseason games is usually not the greatest quality of football to watch. That's about making a play and a name for yourself to just try and make the roster. I think NFL teams enter training camp with max rosters at 90 players.. That's a lot to trim down from.
  13. Weird, but I like it A LOT on this car. I guess they just incorporated it very well to me.
  14. There still aren't really specs on it though, are there? That was more a feature list and engine sizes(no outputs). No outputs, weights, capabilities, fuel economy..stuffs like that..
  15. Your wish is our command - Toyota Reveals the 2016 Toyota Tacoma You got me real excited there..lol Nah, more like a test/review is what I'm talking about.
  16. I honestly think it looks better than the Colorado. The Colorado is very "soft" looking to me. I like the Canyon and its beefier looking front end more but not the Colorado. Plus, the Colorado and Canyon come with the front diffuser that nearly touches the ground.. It looks like the Tacoma has an extra 6 inches of clearance off the showroom floor. I'm really intrigued to hear more about the specs on this. Curious how it will stack up to the GM twins.
  17. There are some pretty..."unknowledgable" people over on the Escape forums as well. Mostly just average people looking for a solution to something small. There are plenty of real knowledgable people but that's only about a handful really. So I feel for ya! lol He's talking about just replacing the rubber pad with the contacts. Not the entire thing.
  18. Holy F. I think that looks abslutely amazing. Talk about presense on the road. That front end demands it. I haven't read the article but they better plan on using an equally powerful drivetrain.
  19. If your internal objectives include being down eight percent year-over-year, massive vendor supply issues, and not actually getting much better mileage... then yes. They're dancing in the streets. sigh... Ignorance is bliss to some..
  20. Take the Terrain with the 2.9L Baby Duramax and Rock it in AWD mode and still be in the high 30's for gas mileage I bet. I personally see no use for the clatter, the noise is not needed and I love that when GM went to Isuzu to build the Original Duramax one of the top 3 items was to be quiet like a gas engine. This proves you can have all the power of Diesel and quiet like regular gas. The Duramax is an awesome engine and my choice or the terribly noisy Powerstroke and the quieter but still noisy Cummins. Oh I think it would be touchy to 40mpg as long as their AWD system basically releases the other two wheels while cruising. I mean the Nox is already rated at 32mpg.. Well I guess that is FWD too.. I guess you're high 30's estimate would be more accurate. I don't know the weight different between the Colorado and Equinox but if the Equinox is a fair amount lighter they could gear it even taller.. Plus probably add some towing capability to it.
  21. I'm a car guy like everybody else here.. I don't mind the diesel clatter one bit. I actually kind of like it. But I'm not their target buyer with the "whisper diesel". Put that in something a little bigger and we'd be talkin'. Oh, better yet. Put the baby Duramax in the Equinox/Terrain. That would be my next purchase. I realize that it is a driveine created for a RWD/4WD truck not a FWD CUV. But a guy can have a dream(a small one at that) lol.
  22. Leading the way with one diesel car that the take rate is 3%..? Their other diesel is outsourced to Duramax. They have one more diesel than Ford and the same number that Ram offers. I'm missing the "leading" part. Please explain. As whutsizface remarked, 3% is 3%. This is an advance over that toe in he marketplace. And GM is about to build on a REAL segment-buster by offering a diesel in the Canyonado. It's the kind of thing that happens when you're dedicated to OFFERING mileage as opposed to marketing it. That is 100% accurate, but what did/does that 3% COST? Break even? Tiny profit? Loss? I genuinely do not know. But then again this is probably a driveline that is offered in other parts of the world. Which is why I wish Ford would bring a diesel over here, for almost anything. I know they have the Kuga(Escape) overseas that has a diesel option. If that was offered here I guarantee I would give it a good look. Edit: I also trust a diesel over a hybrid ten times over. I just don't have confidence in a hybrid maintenance and reliabliity like I do a diesel. A diesel is still just an engine which the configuration has been around for how many years? Hybrids honestly just scare me when it comes to actually thinking about buying one. And, I'll completely give you that I already forgot about the Canyonado.. That should take off pretty well.
  23. I like it. I think it looks better than the Colorado..but probably not the Canyon. I think a lot of that is the lack of the super low front air damn that the GM twins have. I think the wheel choice in the above picture isn't ideal but I think the truck itself looks really good. I think the blue truck here looks much better. As for the GoPro mount points, I didn't even think of using it on a daily basis.. I assumed it was for off-roading. I still like the idea of it overall. That's just one way to seperate themselves from the competition.

  25. I agree it is something.. But assuming the Model X will be more "profitable" and the fact that they have the Gigafactory partnered with Toyota, I believe, is a huge plus. All their batteries will already be stateside and in their own factory which has got to cut a huge cost from what they spend now on outsourcing and importing. I really want to see them succeed and half of that want is because they're another American brand and pushing technology. I still would never consider a full electric vehicle until the power stations expand ten fold. I wouldn't want to have to do the planning required to take a trip now. But that is just time as it's a slow and expensive process.
