Cadillac News: What is Your IQ on Cadillac Electric Vehicles?
ccap41 replied to G. David Felt's topic in Cadillac
I had a 2013 Escape Titanium on OEM 19" wheels (235/50R19) and it was far from driving poorly. It obviously wasn't a sports car but it definitely did not ride poorly. As Drew stated, it rode well but handled poorly. If I remember correctly, the reviews at the time of that new generation praised it saying it had a "euro" drive to it. -
Yes, Sunday and Monday I was out but when I was out I was masked as that's what almost everybody requires. 1, 2, 300? I don't know. But those people have already made their decisions as well. If they're vaccinated they shouldn't have an issue. If they're not, they're well aware of their risks as well .
-
You did but it's way closer than it ought to be, imo. I must have missed the question. Grandparents are definitely in the age group in which I'm an advocate for it. If they're vaccinated, almost none, right? If they're not vaccinated, wouldn't you prefer them to be done and gone anyway? Also, I did state that I wasn't out and about when I had it. As everybody should when they're sick, stay home, get healthy, and when you're good to go again, then proceed to go where you need to go.
-
You know you can do this, right? Maybe the PNW is scared in a little bubble, but there are a lot of places that are open. If wearing a mask constitutes as not being carefree living, then I think you have A LONG time yet to wait. Just get out and live your life. You and your family are vaccinated so go enjoy whatever you want to enjoy. Well, you shouldn't be going out and about if you currently have the virus, right? I didn't leave my house last week. As some here would claim, I wasn't out there killing people by being unvaccinated. I wasn't spreading it to anybody nor was I taking up a hospital bed.
-
We can crunch the actual math and see exactly how low the unvaccinated death rate is... 9.74/100000 = 0.0000974 = 0.00974%. And obviously this is out of EVERYBODY, so it includes all of the people who don't give two shts about their own health and prefer burgers and pizza.

Or, I can let my body fight off the XXL Flu, because that's what happens to such a large percentage of people who are healthy. " Adults with excess weight are at even greater risk during the COVID-19 pandemic: Having obesity increases the risk of severe illness from COVID-19. People who are overweight may also be at increased risk. Having obesity may triple the risk of hospitalization due to a COVID-19 infection. Obesity is linked to impaired immune function.2,3 Obesity decreases lung capacity and reserve and can make ventilation more difficult.4 A study of COVID-19 cases suggests that risks of hospitalization, intensive care unit admission, invasive mechanical ventilation, and death are higher with increasing BMI.5 The increased risk for hospitalization or death was particularly pronounced in those under age 65. 5 More than 900,000 adult COVID-19 hospitalizations occurred in the United States between the beginning of the pandemic and November 18, 2020. Models estimate that 271,800 (30.2%) of these hospitalizations were attributed to obesity.6 " https://www.cdc.gov/obesity/data/obesity-and-covid-19.html It's completely inconvenient and you'll feel like crap FROM getting vaccinated. I don't know anybody who had ZERO symptoms the following day. The quad-boosted individuals have the same amount of time feeling icky as I do.

Yeah, there are people who need it and a lot of people who don't. Older and unhealthier people need it. I don't think David or Drew benefit all that much from it. They both come across as active and healthy individuals.

Except all of the vaccines we get as children. And I completely understand we're not looking at a 100% working rate but a 95-98% working rate isn't unreasonable to ask for. They simply don't work well enough. If you're healthy, and NOT OVERWEIGHT (like most people who are having major issues), you're already looking at incredible rates of survival and living a normal life a week later. Needing multiple boosters a year to just stay up to date with the current strand seems pretty obvious that it doesn't work all that well, unless you're getting a booster every 5 months, per the CDC.

Except it isn't a guarantee a covid vaccine would have saved his life.

"To be fair, Lightning buyers get more than 33 extra kWh for their extra 20 grand. Although Ford nominally lists the battery upgrade as a $10,000 option, it is bundled with Equipment Group 312A (listed as a $9,500 option, despite the fact that you can't separate it from the Extended-Range Battery). While confusing to consumers (@balthazar) at best and intentionally misleading (@balthazar) at worst, opting for the combined equipment and battery package does net Lightning XLT buyers quite a bit of extra features, such as 20-inch wheels, Ford's latest Co-Pilot 360 Advanced Driver Assist System, power tailgate with tailgate step and work surface, heated front seats and steering wheel, and the 9.6-kW Pro Power generator, among other things." https://www.motortrend.com/news/2022-ford-f-150-lightning-extended-range-battery-configurator/

My doctor did not specify what strand I had. I should have asked. My exact reasoning for not feeling the need to get covid-vaxxed. One friend (unknowingly) spread this to three of us. Both of my other friends were vaccinated and at least one booster. All three of us were sick. None of us were bad beyond 3-4 days. That's my issue with the covid vaccines, there's no guarantee.

As this has been gone over many times already, you know damn well you're getting A LOT more than just 70 miles of range for that 20k.

Much to nobody's surprise, I finally caught the covid last week. Tuesday-Thursday I had on and off body aches also with an on and off mild fever. Waking up in the morning was definitely the worst and as I took medicine and vitamins throughout the day I felt better each day but woke up feeling pretty crappy. For the most part I didn't have a cough but i wouldn't say it was completely nonexistent. No loss of taste or smell. Thursday night and all Friday was the worst as my body felt much better but for whatever reason my throat was killing me. It was extremely sore and talking or drinking hurt. I wouldn't say I'm 100% today but I'm a good 90% with a tiny cough and my throat is still a little sore. Much to EVERYBODY'S surprise though, I wasn't hospitalized nor did I die.

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
ccap41 replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
Missouri is similar in that they base off of vehicle value. I have no clue how the calculation works, as I've never needed to know. -
The mustang was stuck in the live-axel-rut prior to 2015. Them stepping into the 20th century with IRS made a world of a difference.
-
Everybody just glossing over this statement? Does nobody else thing that'd fckd up? I wonder why the death rates for unvaccinated are higher, could it possibly be they are getting less help from the medical system, as clearly admitted here?
-
Yet, you probably can't prove how many vaccinated individuals have died because of the unvaccinated. It's all just assumption because there are vaccinated in hospitals as well. There are SO many variables at play to make a claim of "the unvaccinated are killing the vaccinated" is pretty absurd.
-
Are they both IRS or solid rear axle?
-
He's not wrong. This should have been done a decade ago because it would have been easy cash for Cadillac/GM. They had the expensive bit already paid for and the technology for the suspension stuff. They really only needed to engineer an AWD system capable of this output. There's no doubt in my mind that they would have sold every one they build for the last ten years. It'll be amazingly good *for what it is*.
-
Are you trying to say that 100% of the COVID vaccinated people that are hospitalized are there solely because of other medical issues? Do you have any proof of this because I don't believe it one bit. The same way I don't believe the only 9 people you know to have caught COVID that aren't vaccinated were hospitalized. Were none of those nine people in the first year when there was no vaccine available or all within the last year when there were vaccines available? I've never heard St Louis considered south but I believe it has southern roots with jazz music and all.
-
Then why'd you use that as justification as to why I'm republican? That's the key here. The unvaccinated are the ONLY ones spreading those. Vaccinated people are still spreading COVID and still getting sick from it. Yes, at a much lower rate.
-
You don't know a single person locally who's contracted COVID? The ONLY people you know who've contracted COVID have been coworkers in Boston and your son's girlfriend? You do know STL is a democratic city, right? There is nothing in the science that's stopping me. It's just the fact that it isn't a game-ender. The vaccinations we all got when we were little 100% prevented the spread and illnesses to be contracted. None of the COVID vaccines do this. If any of the current vaccines 100% stopped the spread once contracted (okay, it wouldn't exactly need to be 100%, but an extremely high number) I would have gotten it a year ago. It doesn't stop the spread and only minimizes the symptoms.
