  1. Which has not one thing to do with what I said in my post. What is in my signature is merely my thoughts on a particular subset of folks and is not about anyone here. Why you think that relates to what I said is beyond me. Now if you just happen to be part of that subset of folks, then so be it but my creation of it has squat to do with you. You think too highly of yourself if you actually think that.
  2. Funny. I LOL at posters who continually troll threads about cars or subjects they claim to have no interest in yet can’t stop going to even when they say that they are done with it. Oh the irony.
  3. Offer something of substance @ocnblu because while you “laugh” at the post of others, those others are clearly laughing at you and those obvious partisan blinders. Maybe getting off your knees and wiping your mouth off would be better than swallowing every ounce of Trumps lies and nonsense. Not holding my breath but one can always hope that you actually want to discuss matters of importance instead of trolling the discussion nonstop and serving up snide and unrelated comments with the goal of basically insulting anyone who dares to point out the endless steam of bull$h! coming out of Trumps mouth. You’d think his supporters would get tired of the snowballing quite honestly.
  4. Of course he’s the one that came to your mind. There were others but only Obama was worth mentioning right? And you have the hypocrisy to mock folks who go after Trump?
  5. Must be why Trump was trying to nominate himself for it in regard to his “great” work with N. Korea. Would it be great then? Talk about clutching some pearls. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-northkorea-usa-trump/trump-makes-his-case-for-nobel-peace-prize-complains-hell-never-get-it-idUSKCN1Q42FJ
  6. Right after he gets his face added to Mt. Trumpmore.
  7. Once again, we have the arsonist wanting credit for putting out the fire that he started.
  8. And you can let go of the blindness. There were reports months ago regarding Mexico beefing up support at the southern border and were keeping more folks back. Detentions were up months ago as well. Don’t get sour at everyone else just because you were fooled by the man behind the curtain. Remember. The truth isn’t the truth. From your favorite source of news. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxnews.com/world/mexico-says-migrant-detentions-up-79-in-april.amp
  9. Whatever you have to tell yourself. Once they decided to slap that AMG brand on a FWD CLA, that was the end of any legitimate discussion about brand exclusivity. Doesn’t matter what lap times they got in the ring when they just slap it on any model they feel they can milk a few more grand out of. Doesn’t mean they are all “legit”. Honestly this discussion just gets old. Always the same crap about the Vette, Cadillac, and GM in general not being up to a Mercedes fanboys “lofty” standards. We will just skip the fact that Benz should be ashamed that cars like the Vette shame the majority of German cars for far less coin but hey, that “dime store” interior.
  10. I definitely wouldn’t kick it out of my driveway but the ‘59 has always drawn me in.
  11. Yes they but this is the only Biarritz that’ll ever matter to me.
  12. And the bar gets kicked over once again. From your “platinum” excuse to this sports cars nonsense, the only one who seems that “concerned” about it is you. And funny how you bring up GMCs use of Denali when Mercedes is whoring the AMG name like they’re working a Vegas street corner. More of that fanboy hypocrisy showing.
  13. @smk4565You also missed the point about my Phaeton reference. GM never did and still has not done that. Chevrolet hasn’t had one sedan with more engine and more performance than Cadillac. Go ahead and say that they do with the Camaro and Corvette but that would only be applicable if Cadillac had a sports car. Hell, I think Benz is more guilty of mixing up their message. “Hey, if want luxury, buy this Mercedes” ”If you want luxury, but this Maybach” Which one is really luxury?
  14. Thanks for proving my point. (Notices bar being kicked once again as different standards are applied to Daimler vs. GM).
  15. “Luxury trim level”? What’s this? Their third attempt at trying to market Maybach here? They tried to play with Rolls Royce in the early 2000s and got their hand slapped for pushing out these glorified S Class cars and Daimler pulled the plug. They tried yet again to market them against the big boys and the plug was pulled yet again. Now Daimler thinks they can do the exact same thing but just call it a “luxury” trim level is the already supposedly luxury S Class? Do you see where this is going yet or does it need to be spelled out for you? You spend day after day going after GM and Cadillac while maybe uttering two words about the even bigger debacle known as Maybach. It’s kind of old at this point.
  16. (Goes to the Maybach webpage, doesn’t see any Hyper cars or sport cars and sees a glorified S Class being marketed like a Rolls Royce. Thinking of starting a thread deriding Daimler’s dilution of the Maybach brand and how they don’t have a real plan after all these years).
  17. @smk4565—While you harp about Chevy having sportcars with all the horsepower, weren’t you on this site just the other day propping up a $2 million Mercedes hypercar? I only bring it up because I don’t see that kind of car coming to the Maybach lineup.
  18. Stop it. The Phaeton was still basically an A8 parallel and was literally marketed as a luxury limo so VW was just as guilty of middling into Audi territory as you as accusing GM of doing. That’s my point and none of your bar moving changes that. Oh and the W12 A8 came out at the same time as the W12 Phaeton. In other words, they were pretty much the exact same car.
  19. He also forgets that VW has pulled that crap before. Did Audi have a V12 sedan in the US when VW sold the Phaeton? Nope. The top of the line A8 didn’t even have that option and VW explicitly targeted Benz and BMW in marketing and sales of it. The point is GM is not the only guilty of throwing around the old performance game. Trolling 101 when you clearly don’t understand the history of the Vette. See my post above.
  20. Chevrolet has not one sedan with better engines and performance than Cadillac. The only two cars outside of that comparison are the Vette and Camaro.
  21. Good grief. I’m a bit mystified by the lettering change but I’m not going to harp on it for three pages until more details come out regarding other trim options. Who knows? There might actually be a semi good reason for it.
  22. That movie series definitely jumped the shark. Nothing worth watching again after T2, which was a great flick. I recommend self checkout for that one. The cashiers there will try to put that in a plastic bag and you’re just going to rip the handles grabbing it.
  23. Gotta love “I love choice as long as you choose us” mantra of some folks. Its like it’s your choice to go or not to go to church so long as choose going to church. And I swore we were done with this idiotic tariff discussion yesterday. Guess some folks just can’t let go of things. Must be a pitiful life.
  24. Except the Quad4 was a hot mess when it came to oil burn. They were absolute maintenance nightmares when they started acting up. Dated a girl in the 90s who a Calais with that engine. Would not wish that maintenance on my worst enemy. I do agree about the peak power where the torque is concerned but it’s still no slouch.
