Oh I understood the sarcasm but it merited a response nonetheless.
-
Very true but early reviews (as I was alluding to earlier) have not been glowing on either of the automatics. It’s a shame because it looks far better than its competition but it is held back by the Powertrain on top of being way too much money.
-
Not even close to worth it. $34K buys me much better cheese than a Compass. To be fair, I wouldn’t pay $27K for a Soul but that’s because I’m a cheapskate and will probably never buy another new car.
-
How is that the voice of reason? It’s just an opinion and an opinion that is not widely shared. As stated earlier, the only thing the Compass offers over something like the Soul is AWD. Silly commercials aside, it is a great car that doesn’t have the many hassles of the Compass, like a sluggish tranny and sluggish acceleration (both common complaints on the old and new Compass). The new Compass also pushes $34K for a fully loaded model, which is $7K above any loaded Soul. Sorry, but with $34K, I can get a mid size CUV (or something better) for that kind of coin.
-
I am sure that the new Compass is much better but initial reviews seem to share similar complaints about the CVT. It will forever be a nonstarter for me. The Soul would be the way to go although an AWD option would be nice.
-
So you have no Soul?
-
“Flaky” is putting it mildly. Garbage is more like it.
-
That CVT deserves a slow and painful death and if I can help it, will be the last CVT I drive.

Drove one from Arizona to NC back in May (when my dad passed away) and I really liked it. Just to illustrate how much, I had to drive a Jeep Compass (previous model, not the new one) back to Arizona and I would set that thing on fire in the middle of the freeway if I could get away with it. The Soul was infinitely better in every regard, from acceleration to looks. Simply no comparison.

“The Ultimate Driving Machine” (written in quotes for a reason).

I think it looks great for same reason as the interior. So much design overkill out there with no real lasting appeal. This is a refreshing break from the usually overdone BS.

Count me in the group of people who find it refreshing to not have fifty million buttons and overwrought interior designs that were drawn up by the Ray Charles School of Automotive Design.

Then your friend was lucky because most of them turned to $h! after 60-80K. Their horrible resale value reflected this.

“Driven” not “drivers”. f@#k autocorrect. -
Volvo News: Polestar 1 Might Not Be Subscription Only

Until it has actually been drivers, you don’t know what the hell its worth. What you just said about it can easily be applied to just about every six figure car out there, including Benz. Difference here is that no one has actually driven the Polestar. -
Audi News: 2019 Audi A7 Retains the Swoopy Hatchback Look

Just “meh”. I will never understand the facisnation with Audi or VW (towed too many back int he day to ever warrant interest) but to each their own. -
It’s just a little JVC sports cam. It’s basically a Go Pro knockoff but it was only $30 so I couldn’t pass it up. Actually works great.

One step ahead of you. Keep one right on my dash because I don’t trust anyone on the road.

That is a daily occurrence here. How these folks here managed to get an operators license is a f@#king mystery to me. The day one of them hits me is the day it becomes the longest day of their miserable lives.

I honestly feel dumber for having read this page. Carry on.

WTF does Ford and GM have to do with this? It’s called “priorities”. Also, they have a 2 seat Corvette so...that’s where GM is. Again, niche market. Umm, no. You literally brought up almost half a dozen examples of failed coupes (G6, Solara, Altima Coupe, Monte Carlo, Sebring, etc) and they ALL had back seats. Clearly that route doesn’t work either. “G6 coupe, Monte Carlo, Sebring/200, Solara, Altima coupe all dead.“ So why in the world would they (by your own admission) try to go back into a “dying market” (referring to Honda)?

Again with the damn bar moving. We are not talking about coupes with back seats. We were talking about two seater coupes. You assert that they are dying which is a false statement because that would imply that they were mainstream popular which they have NEVER been. It has and will continue to be a niche market.
