  1. That is the only thing I'm considering. I will not buy a brand new car because they are terrible investments right off the bat. A first gen Volt with reasonable miles is what I'm considering. I will say this. I've talked to several EV owners and even the extreme heat hasn't been a big deal or range killer save for those early Leaf models.
  2. Read your last sentence again and understand the pure hypocrisy of what you just said. You have made it about me for the last page and a half. You can debate with yourself though from here on out because I don't debate with brick walls and employees of automakers. I will say that if you want to think that's how it happened on the Fiesta thread, knock yourself out but I know for a fact that is not the truth, your "chick" insult aside. Guess it never occurred to you that it was your buddy who reported me lol! Back to the Bolt...
  3. I'm not going anywhere. I occasionally take little breaks from the action but no one will run me off, least of all those eighth graders lol!
  4. I'm getting ready to use some equity on my house and have been seriously considering a Volt. It would solve my weekly commute and no visits to the gas station and for long drives to Tucson and Flagstaff, I'll have ICE as a welcome back up. The log drives to Flagstaff would be the one thing keeping me out of a Bolt but the range is getting better by the year on EVs and soon that will not be an issue. Yes it does but it doesn't solve everything because I can still see quotes in other posts and it definitely doesn't stop the harrasing PMs.
  5. Oh the irony of someone complaining about others going to the mods (I'll simply refer to the Fiesta thread as proof here).
  6. So sorry to hear that. The losses have been heavy here too man. All we can do is move forward and carry on. And yes, here's hoping for a much better 17.
  7. I've said all I needed to say and I stand by it. That is all. So, back to the Bolt. This would be the ideal solution for my weekly commute and around town adventures. It's just an added bonus to not have to deal with volatile gas prices and the associated mess with all of that. You are not a challenge. Moving along...
  8. "Said nothing"? You're kidding me right? I guess all of your passive aggressive remarks in your status updates (of which you are banned from doing Mr Nothing is ever my fault) are being willfully ignored here? Let me sum this up for you because I know where this is headed. You seem to think that in order for me to be right about EVs, that you have to agree with me. Well, that is just not the case. Your support is not requirement nor is it a prerequisite for me to be right. You need to get that through your head Mr. "Don't make this about me Dfelt" (just a few pages ago by you) and move on with your life. The fact is that I could say that everything Ford touches is gold and you would still find something negative to say, not because of what was said but who said it. Get over yourself and as you just said, "Man the f@#k up". Oh and if you think I closed that thread, then I have a bridge to sell you. Btw, get some help for that obvious narcissism you are exhibiting here.
  9. That truly sucks Stew. I can definitely understand the need for 2016 to stop it's nonsense as well but it is getting better, for me anyway.
  10. S Well said. Unfortunately some here only really want success from one company and screw everyone else. They are not and should not ever call themselves "car fans".
  11. The eight year warranty kills your 4-5 year replacement claim. That was the point of me mentioning it. Talk about ignorance is bliss. Let me make something very clear to you. If you want to debate, fine. I'm always game but if you want to do it while telling to "Man THE f@#k up or STFU" then quite honestly you can take a leap off the tallest building in Detroit. Take your own advice and man up and stop being such a whiny pussy because someone simply has an opinion different from yours. And my examples and and analogies are spot on. It's not my fault that you are ignorant to history and facts so much that you have to lash out and post like a twelve year old in response. Maybe you can just send me another harassing PM like you always do when you don't get your way. One last thing. You are telling to admit to your stance about Ford EVs. Why would I do that when Ford hasn't done hardly jack in the EV world compared to GM? I don't care what you have to say about Ford in this regard so you know exactly where you can stick that presumptuous little attitude of yours. All I know is I must be doing something right to elicit such an "adult" and colorful response by someone claiming to be a 51 year old man. Pure comedy gold!
  12. Per someone else's link, I find this part about horse buggies and ICE cars perfectly poetic given the stance some want to have here about EVs. "Then again, when the first gasoline cars started to come along, and people compared those noisy, smelly, breakdown-prone and flammable contraptions to horses, while fence sitters stuck with what was known reliable, well, you know the rest of that story." Like I said, perfectly poetic. Also seemingly missed by some is this part (from the same link provided by someone else). "“Personally, I think there’s much less to worry about with EV battery longevity than there is with the volatile global oil market. We’re always one big storm, one terrorist attack, one surprise announcement from an oil dictator away from $8/gallon gas and rationing. I know the cost of electricity won’t suddenly double overnight,” said Saxton. “For most people, by the time their battery pack has lost significant capacity, they will have saved more than enough in gasoline costs to cover any associated loss in value.” FUD busted.
  13. This and then some. Glad I'm not the only one who's FUD detector was going off here. Fact is that if this were a Ford product, this would be a totally different conversation. No one ever claimed that this would be the best solution for everyone but to flat out ignore the fact that it will be quite useful for quite a few folks while spreading a ridiculous amount of FUD is just flat out talking with one's eyes closed. IC Engine degradation is also a fact missed by some here trying to spread FUD about EVs. It's also a really good thing that ICE cars don't lose MPGs during the summer months. Oh wait, they do.
  14. Im one happy camper right now. Got my 12.9" iPad Pro last week and my backlit keyboard for it today! Now, I'm just waiting on the pencil to get here so that I can finally get back to my art. WOOHOO! My wife just got her 7 plus and loves it. The camera is just top notch and this is coming from a DSLR user!
  15. Don't worry folks. When Ford puts out their first true EV (and not a short range Focus) the tune here will change immensely.
  16. But IC engines do start to lose MPGs as they age as well so... More FUD. The battery (along with every other component on the Bolt) is covered for 8 years or 100K miles.
  17. You should know better than to speak ill of the blue oval lol! There is this term "double speak" that comes to mind here.
  18. Actually the LX replacements were pushed back several times before the 2021 date was set. Either way it is long overdue. I love the Challenger but it is long past time to move it into a more modern platform.
  19. I see what you're saying but being in any variation of a V8 is a no brainer to me.
  20. I have no problem with the design but this is just pure neglect and half-assery by FCA.
  21. Pair it up with a V8 and stop wasting everyone's time FCA. Good grief. They are just phoning it in if it doesn't involve a Jeep or a Fiat. Probably why they are headed to the great crapper in the sky.
  22. Yes "Really" to all of it and anyone who is not beholden to their employer would know this already. Many examples have already been given to why this has been the case. Along with big oil, the big 3 were the biggest detriment to new technologies and changes that had to have government intervention later on to force their hands. This is not really a debatable point but if it makes you feel better, just continue on with this illusion that Ford is the lone exception to the truth.
  23. I'm also sure that Ford, like everyone else, did some things exactly because the government told them too.
  24. Yeah some folks fail to realize that the same government regulations that are supposedly squeezing out companies today are the same ones responsible for emission reduction in the first place.
