  1. Never apologize for what you choose to drive. You owe an explanation of why to no one (referring to dfelt but applies to anyone).
  2. Okay but that doesn't really answer my question. You are right to use your sales experience as a barometer here but others here may also have similar sales experience that contradict your assertions. Just seems a little presumptuous to say it like you are the only one here who can properly vouch for the success or failure of a car. Maybe I'm reading you wrong here but that's just the impression that I get.
  3. Is there a reason why you assume you're the only salesman in the room?
  4. Why is there a vaporware vs. actual product argument anyway? Sorry but I just don't get it.
  5. I think there are a lot assumptions about buyers of both the Bolt and Tesla. That is the biggest hinderance as to understanding why or why not said car succeeds. If someone owns an expensive CUV/SUV and a Tesla, that doesn't mean anything other than the fact that one is for highway traveling while the other is perfectly suited to city and short range highway drives. Unless someone here has actually talked to these particular Tesla owners, it's pretty silly to assume anything else than what it's intended purpose is.
  6. It does sound like the dealerships could be the only real hurdle for this car. If they are not serious about the product at a dealership level, then this car will be dead in the water. Like you said though, if they do it right, there is no reason why this can't succeed. Time will tell I guess. I would also like to clarify that I meant $35K and not $35 for the Tesla 3. Hell, if that's the case, I'll take ten!
  7. On top of all that, I will say that while I like Tesla overall, the 3 looks awful. The proportions make it look like an S that has been pinched in from the front to the back. The Bolt, while not being a "looker" in the traditional sense, at least is (compared to the 3 at this point), A. A usable hatchback with a more than usable range for the price. and B. (and this is the most important part here) Real. I also think the 3 will not come in anywhere near $35 when it's all said and done.
  8. You need to stop using your imagination and understand reality. Those well off folks got that way by using the credits and saving money. That's personal economics 101. You know, you keep coming up with these wild excuses as to why the Bolt won't succeed while ignoring every reason why it can succeed. Could it be because it comes from GM because if this were an odd looking EV Benz for that price, I feel you would be singing a completely different tune. Sources please because I'm calling 100% BS on every bit of you claim.
  9. The problem is real simple here Drew. The problem he has is not because of the price range or how it looks. It's because of who makes it. Great point about the Prius. It is living proof that most folks don't care about looks when it comes to these types of cars. And GM has the solution to that gas problem as well, in case you forgot. It's called the Volt. And at $35K, Tesla is arguing for value. To think otherwise is just silly.
  10. While ignoring that Tesla has a $35K competitor coming out eventually that also looks kind of fugly. And all those cars you mention at the end run on gas. Knowing that and willfully ignoring that, as you are here, is just silly to the pointless of sadness. This is by far the best option for the EV crowd right now. If you want an EV and want a nice range (both of which the Bolt offers), there simply is no better choice right now.
  11. I'm 43 and used to be that way but I try to get to bed at a more reasonable time these days to maximize my sleep, which has been sorely lacking since I was 15. I certainly wish I could get by with 4-5 hours sleep these days though.
  12. Sleep keeps me from hurting people.
  13. Can't mess with pills anymore. Worked graveyard for many years and was on Ambien for two of those years. I wouldn't recommend that to my worst enemy. Horrible stuff. Thank goodness I live in Arizona.
  14. I have not driven the new Sonic but I drove a rental 2014 LT 5 door model (don't remember which engine it had right off the top of my head) when I was in NC two years ago. I rather enjoyed that little car. Took some getting used to the fact that I wasn't driving my Magnum (duh) but the handling on it was the first thing I noticed. It was actually quite nice and the steering was also very responsive for a car in that class. The cluster took getting used too but I had no problem with it like some magazine reviewers did. Overall it was a very nice car for the class and if I were twenty years younger, it would have been on the top of the list. I wil say this about the new Sonic. I don't like the new nose and headlights on it compared to the outgoing model. Just doesn't look as "sporty" to me and shows its Korean looks a little too much for taste. Nothing wrong with Korean car mind you, but the look does not work here.
  15. Insomnia and back pain make horrible bed fellows.
  16. Fair enough and I meant to end that part with an "lol".
  17. True but you did "like" his post. ... That is all I'm going to say about it. Back to the random part of this, The NFL has already proven to be a joke after that Carolina/Denver game. "We care about the concussion problem". Yeah. Tell that to Cam Newton.
  18. What was that you said not too long ago about bringing MT drama into here?
  19. A fitting farewell for the LX platform, which is long past the point of needing a replacement. A little weird that it will only be for the V6 and Hellcat but it is what it is.
  20. And of course the two in question prove me right. So long folks and best of luck.
  21. Very well said and that is what Mr. Noble needs to consider before attacking and insulting others because they see reality whereas he sees fantasy and distortion. There is literally nothing he has levied at Cadillac that can't be applied to every other make out there. Pure Swiss cheese.
  22. When the same person keeps down voting you everyday because it was you that posted, as opposed to what you actually posted, then you know you've won. Thanks for taking the time to seek out my posts without so much as a counter point much less posting in said threads you seem to spend so much time in.
