    (Goes to the Maybach webpage, doesn’t see any Hyper cars or sport cars and sees a glorified S Class being marketed like a Rolls Royce. Thinking of starting a thread deriding Daimler’s dilution of the Maybach brand and how they don’t have a real plan after all these years).

    @smk4565—While you harp about Chevy having sportcars with all the horsepower, weren’t you on this site just the other day propping up a $2 million Mercedes hypercar? I only bring it up because I don’t see that kind of car coming to the Maybach lineup.

    Stop it. The Phaeton was still basically an A8 parallel and was literally marketed as a luxury limo so VW was just as guilty of middling into Audi territory as you as accusing GM of doing. That’s my point and none of your bar moving changes that. Oh and the W12 A8 came out at the same time as the W12 Phaeton. In other words, they were pretty much the exact same car.

    He also forgets that VW has pulled that crap before. Did Audi have a V12 sedan in the US when VW sold the Phaeton? Nope. The top of the line A8 didn’t even have that option and VW explicitly targeted Benz and BMW in marketing and sales of it. The point is GM is not the only guilty of throwing around the old performance game. Trolling 101 when you clearly don’t understand the history of the Vette. See my post above.

    Chevrolet has not one sedan with better engines and performance than Cadillac. The only two cars outside of that comparison are the Vette and Camaro.

    Good grief. I’m a bit mystified by the lettering change but I’m not going to harp on it for three pages until more details come out regarding other trim options. Who knows? There might actually be a semi good reason for it.

    That movie series definitely jumped the shark. Nothing worth watching again after T2, which was a great flick. I recommend self checkout for that one. The cashiers there will try to put that in a plastic bag and you’re just going to rip the handles grabbing it.

And I swore we were done with this idiotic tariff discussion yesterday. Guess some folks just can’t let go of things. Must be a pitiful life.

    Except the Quad4 was a hot mess when it came to oil burn. They were absolute maintenance nightmares when they started acting up. Dated a girl in the 90s who a Calais with that engine. Would not wish that maintenance on my worst enemy. I do agree about the peak power where the torque is concerned but it’s still no slouch.

    Big talk about naming schemes when your favorite brand has used a hodgepodge of different lettering schemes for decades now. Not disagreeing about Cadillac dumping names for letters but let’s keep things in perspective here.

    I know I pull no punches on the subject matter but I think once folks start talking about glorified concentration camps and a police state, that’s where it starts to cross the line. I was just thinking about that very thing. I would be up $h! creek if I still had my old Talon TSI (or any of the seven other manual cars I’ve owned over the years). Bought one of those steering knobs to make it easier but the green turtle (my old RAV4) is pretty easy to drive without it. Just playing the safe route for now because I still have two more weeks in this sling and several months of physical therapy.

    That goes both ways. Just because YOU say it doesn’t make it so and I got news for you on this. The facts, the law, and the constitution are not on your side here. Go ahead and send the military to shoot unarmed “foreign invaders” (they are not, no matter how many times you spit that BS) and lay out some land mines. See how that works out. (That was full on sarcasm btw) It has been very clearly laid out by others and myself why your suggestions are utter BS. You are not as educated as you think you are and your last few posts have proven that hand over fist. We shouldn’t and he doesn’t. His words are almost straight lifted from far right wing extremist websites and their supported propaganda. Like yesterday, I’d up vote this a thousand times but alas, I’m out lol. Im thinking this conversation has probably run its course but that’s just my opinion. Back to some pool therapy for me. Peace.

    It’s amazing how you keep repeating the same thing with different words yet the result of all three points remain the same. The constitution and federal and international laws prohibit everything you have mentioned. It’s just that simple. Your changing of the words does not change these facts.

    Tell that to Dwight above. And while the market hasn’t taken a nosedive, it has effectively remained flat for the last year and a half. Not one trade deal has been ratified, no N. Korea deal (despite his promises that there was one), still no infrastructure deal (even though there have been several bills put up by democrats), more arms sold to our “friends” Saudi Arabia, no Iran deal with the threat of war (that’s what he gets for being Jon Bolton), etc. He is lucky the economy is holding up right now because everything else has been a $h! show.

    As far as employers of illegals go, the solution is far simpler. E-Verify. Make it federal law that all employers use this. No stupid raids necessary.
