    Ugly. The grill, while overly large, is completely ruined by the vertical “bars” running across it. The rest of it is just boring Audi to me but like some others said, Audi fans will love it.

    Oh I’m not trying to discredit it so sorry if I came off that way. It really is anyone’s guess. Hell, a few months ago we were led to believe that the CT6 was dead in the water and not it’s not. Guess we will see when the time comes. Good grief. Sorry for the drunk looking post. Too many grammatical errors for me to deal with lol. I’m not sure what exactly happened there.

    I just threw up in my mouth a bit. Not or sure how reliable this information but it would not surprise given all the CUV news from GM it would not surprise me. Just a sad state of affairs.

    That is always a concern with Jaguar but more power to them if they can pull it off. Can’t hang on to the past forever.

    Never been a big Jaguar fan myself but I agree with you here. The look has aged well IMO and just has a nice sleek look to it.

    And missing the point completely as this is not about the XT6. The funny part is that you rag on the XT6 to me like I’m going to get offended while neglecting to remember that I don’t care for the XT6 at all. I stated this on the very first article on C&G regarding that mess. Your attempt to troll on that is a huge fail. And so what about the 4.6L Lexus vs. that high strung four banger. I sure as hell know which one is more reliable and cheaper to maintain over the long run. Btw, since we are on the ancient powertrain bandwagon, the 2007 298 HP G-Class had a 0-60 time 7.9 seconds while 2007 GX ran it in 7.5 and that’s while costing twice the money. Go ahead and bring up the even rarer AMG but the stock model was ancient as hell and every bit as ancient as the GX is today.

    Then knock yourself out. When the GX gets to 100K miles on (which is barely broken in) I’ll be sure to find you at the nearest Benz service center where it will spend most of its time and your money. How’s that gas savings working out now (and this is factoring the minimum $4K extra starting price of the four banger GLE vs. the GX)? in other words “win win” is a subjective term here which is something you clearly don’t get.

    That horse is pretty dead right now. Perhaps you should stop beating it. We get it. Meanwhile the entry level four banger on the 255 HP 2020 GLE also requires premium but shhhhh...we don’t talk about that.

    But but, that gas mileage! What about the gas mileage dfelt? It’s 2019! LMAO! Yeah the last car I had with great MPGs was my first new car which was a ‘92 Tercel. Got mid 30s in town and about 45 mpg on the freeway.

    No ccap. It’s just not always necessary. What you also have not considered that clearly the GX is not a high priority right now for Lexus. Their core market clearly prefers car based CUVs. However, that does not take away from the fact that this ancient model is still very reliable and fills a certain niche even though it is butt ugly. The looks are clearly the big issue here because their sales are weak while it’s 4Runner platform twin still sells like hot cakes and it is running on a similar ancient powertrain (just in V6 form). Trying to sell at as an off-road champ hurts it as well but most Lexus buyers just aren’t into that kind of thing and those that are would probably just opt for a loaded and proven 4 Runner. This was made clear from the get go but you took it a completely different route while you so busy defending SMK.

    The “30 mpg” remark was meant as a joke because the way some have complained on here you’d think that was the new norm with CUVs and SUVs.

    Some people don’t see that though. All they see is a SUV that uses an “ancient” powertrain and doesn’t get 30 MPGs everyday. They have a hard time fathoming that some folks actually don’t care as long their SUV is trouble free. Yeah who would have thought that reliability was such a big deal for some folks. I mean who wouldn’t want to have all the great new tech that ends up needing unnecessary service but $h! breaks. We are only talking about a formula that has worked for Toyota and Lexus for three decades now.

    I think you are correct with that. Cadillac runs mid pack in the depreciation group. Some individual models do hold up better than others (pretty much like that with all makes though).

    Okay. That’s where I was getting that info. It would make sense to offer it though. It is also appears to similar to the Kona in size (to my understanding anyway) and it offers AWD. Guess we will see in the future.

    As Drew said, smaller than the Soul and also with AWD if I’m not mistaken. The Soul is Kias best seller. They are not replacing it anytime soon especially since they just released the all new model.

    Yet you sidestepped that whole reliability part at the beginning with your “old isn’t reliable” remark which is what I pointed out from the get go. Only today have you actually acknowledged what everyone else already knew. And I don’t think anything in the slightest as far those two are concerned other than, once again, the GX is probably the more reliable of the two. Your assumptions here are unfounded nonsense. And, errrr, the GX shares its bones with the 4 Runner which explains why its doesn’t have a newer engine unlike the much newer CUVs mentioned. Duh. They did change the engine from the 4.7 to the 4.6 so you are not correct on your “since 2003” remark which means that they changed it about as often as Mercedes changed the G-Wagon. A some folks cry about hypocrisy.

The fact is, and this has been pointed out my multiple people here, is that the average Lexus buyer isn’t as concerned about horsepower as much as they are reliability. You and SMK have sidestepped that little face throughout this whole thread while trying to pick apart everyone else or just move the bar entirely. Boo freakin hoo.

    Way to completely miss the point. The point being that all luxury cars, from Infiniti to Cadillac to Mercedes, have $h! resale value. Just though you may have missed the fact the Benz suffers the same devaluation fate as the rest of them. For the record, the Q sells for 3,000 less than the E Class while offering a V6 standard (with 100 more HP) as opposed to a 241 HP turbo 4. Just sayin’

I never said all things old were reliable. I gave you two perfect examples ones that were though, including the one of which this thread is about. If you’re going to move the damn bar like that, just say so I’m advance. And based on your GX logic why would anyone have paid six figures for a German Jeep that had not changed (for the most part) for three decades? Again, you fail when you single out something you don’t like while ignoring the one you do like. For the record, that ancient GX gets better MPGS than that $125K G-Wagon. Surely the “best or nothing” can do better.
