  1. I feel like a wuss compared to some of you guys.... 115 in a Nova SS..... 110 In suped up 75 camaro... 110 In my old -s-10... most of my other cars can't go that fast... My wagon will go to 120...but the highest I've been is around 100...I'm afraid a door might fall off or something....
  2. Now that you mention it...maybe both... :AH-HA_wink: I'm not cut out for that stunt man stuff....
  3. A buddy of mine is trying to get me to switch my brand of oil...and he is trying to tell me it is the same exact oil. He's driving me crazy! The wife's sedan currently runs on Mobil 1 Full syn oil, which I love. My buddy wants me to switch to the Wal-Mart brand, which is much cheaper. I pay 24 bucks or so for a 5qt of Mobil 1. Wal-Mart's brand is 14 bucks for a 5qt. Now, he is trying to tell me the Mobil makes Wal-Mart's brand, which I disagree with. From what I know, Quaker State/Penzoil makes all of Wal-marts oils..... Now I do agree with him in the fact that they all offer great protection, but It would be hard to make a switch when the Mobil works so well.... On the other hand, if wal-mart' private brand was Mobil 1, that could be a different story...
  4. Well, I got a major surprise today. My brakes went out on me-during the lunch rush..... Lucky for me I made a turn down a side street to avoid a traffic back up. Everything had been fine all day-but when the wagon hit the first stop sign- I didn't stop-and just missed avoiding a person backing out of their driveway- I just about had a heart attack. After getting it to stop (it had a little stopping power left after that), I limped it to my folks house. (where I was on my way to) I came out and checked it a few minutes later-and there was a small puddle and fluid all over my passenger tire I had it towed away to the local shop...and my guess I either lost the hose to the brakes, or the line itself. And just a few days earlier in the other car-somebody just pulled out within inches of me-causing me to get out of the way, and jump the curve...and I lost a wheel cover...and it drove left...which was fixed today.... All I can say is :WHEW!

    Ecotec?

Nah, just a plain ol' 2.2 engine...no Eco. Granted those were only 115hp-but they ran forever....
  6. I would go with the bowtie too. But as far as looks-I need to see the Bu' in person first.
  7. Well, if it makes you feel better, I agree with you. Kia has this thing beat..... THe Nitro reminds me of those gray bumper Cavaliers in the 90s...expect you're paying like over ten grand more. And as far as stating your opinion-it's all about taste my friend. And I'm glad you updated it.
  8. Uh-oh. I'm having Dodge Neon flashbacks.... Engine problems...cars that start to rust before you even pay it off (or finish leasing). I'd have to disagree with YJ though. I'm thinking more Pinto than Yugo....
  9. what about a cat?
  10. The 5.3. Unless you have some major stuff to move.

    Ecotec?

What year? 03-05 Had Ecos.... IF it has a goofy front end with a grille, then it is an 03+...

    Ecotec?

Mine has a bit of noise, but it's kinda hard to judge noise in a Cavalier. My brother has a base 06 Cobalt, and he averaged about 30 city and 32 highway (sometimes higher). Most of the people I know who drive Balt's are usually around this range. They don't get Civic milage, but they don't seem to be too far behind either. As far as the 1.8, VVT maybe, but I'm not sure on the DI...
  13. I'm going to completely agree with Fly on this. It is SOOO true. It gets even worse when you live in the Motor City. I get to actually HEAR about it, people who work at the local plants around here. You should hear what people were saying about the refresh of the Dakota.... Its really bad when you watch friends who work at Chrysler-Even with the employee discount (which is all over around here) are buying GM, or worse, Honda or Kia... Drive though one of these local plants and tell me I'm joking.... The ONLY reason they are still selling a decent amount of cars here is because they are cheap (heavy discounts, really good lease rates) Granted the cars aren't that bad. They just are not competitive. When I talk to employees, the word "half assed" comes up quite a bit. Damn shame.

    Ecotec?

Since the Eco has been out for a while now ( Saturns, Cavaliers)...I was curious-do you feel it is a good engine ? (overall) I would have to say yes, at least for me. NO issues at all with mine, though it only has 35k on it now... Guy I work with has 120k on his 03 Cavalier w/ the eco. No issues at all-still runs well-burns a tiny bit of oil. Not bad for a beat on car. Neighbor is a sales rep. Has almost 90k on his Cobalt. Speedo just stopped working, but his engine is holding up well too... So far so good...
  15. Satty-what about an older work Van? A guy who used to work for me had a 91 Chevy Cargo van (in white) and he put all his bike and hockey stuff in there. I think he picked it up for like 950 or something like that...though it had 190k on it. He likes it a lot, and plans to drop a new engine in the van when it blow up....
  16. Hmmm... Does anyone know a good but cheap 26-32 LCD Tv? I want to upgrade from our current TV, but I don't want to put a bunch of money out..at least for a while.
  17. Yeah, but there is going to be some good rebates on the GP though...
  18. Please refrain from such remarks. Comments like the one above make you look..well, not so good. Anyways, I'm not too surprised about the Nitro-many are still sittng on lots around here-not to mention the local dealership is working on a small fleet of them in the shop, for "stuff". A buddy of mine works there as a salesguy, and even he doesn't say good stuff about them.... The Sebring isn't bad, but it could be a lot better...
  19. Not looking good....
  20. Ahh...Saturn's craptastic car. The ones after 03 are the only ones worth looking at.... Though the Eco seems to be a pretty good engine...many of those eco'd L series seem to still be on the road... Knock on wood, My eco has been quite good to me.... It will easily outlast the Cavalier it's in now....
  21. That's a nice looking car there... I'd go with either the bad gas, or the coil pack. Though I'm leaning more toward the gas...that seems to make cars do some strange things... Besides, a good cleaning couldn't hurt anyways...
  22. Some crazy things... Most recently, a young lady trying to put her thong on while driving....just don't ask what she did at the light.... :AH-HA_wink:
