  1. Ahh I hope I never have to see a v4 disgrace a Camaro ever again and it being turbo does not help either. It's a muscle car, it needs to have a v8 with TONS of torque and some damn good horsepower. That's why people would ever by a Camaro rather than a BMW, it's a MUSCLE CAR. That seperates it from the rest and attracts a unique bunch of consumers. I don't even like the idea of a v6, but I suppose for the ladies and people who want to save a little bit on gas it's fine. About the luxury interior, I don't think it would fit on the Camaro at all. I think most Americans view it still as a low muscle machine that you can feel every little bump in, so not many people would look towards it for luxury. I've got leather bucket seats in my Camaro and it's sure as hell comfortable enough for me and I love the hugging, supporting leather. I do, however, think that they should use the zeta platform to make a new sports car that is luxurious and still retains some muscle along with finesse(sp.). There are a lot of possibilities with the zeta platform and the creation of a new luxurious sports/muscle car might be a perfect fit for GM, perhaps it could bring back some fire to the Buick division? Now that I've got that off my chest, here are some of my additions: I love T-tops, but it might look strange on that car and I'd have to see a pic first. Power windows is a definite, but power door locks, remote entry, heated seats, heated wheel, and power seats are not too essential to me. Some cool retro belt buckles would look awesome as well as a completely retro dash with chromed out knobs. Some chrome exterior parts such as door handles and a chrome gas door would add a very muscular look. A diesel radio with megabass would be essential as well as chrome exhaust tips(dual exhaust of course).
  2. Isn't it so easy to have a defaulted car and just blame it on poor American workmanship rather than just getting it fixed under warranty? I mean just get it fixed and if it falls off again then you've got a problem. Quit bitching about it and trying to blame it on someone and trying to say that these stupid problems don't occur with other automakers.
  3. It makes me sick to think of Toyota as number one. Did anyone hear the joke a spokesperson at Toyota made about this? He goes "maybe we should lower our prices to level the playing field." Know what I think of him??
  4. Well, what can I say, Chevy does have the most dependable trucks on the road. You can go over 100,000 miles easily and not have any problems. I'll say Fords will go up to around 80,000 miles and then things kind of start to fall apart, but Dodge is the worst. When the Dodges are new, they feel incredible, tight and everything, but after 60,000 miles things fall apart, a lot of those trucks are made with cheap materials. I love the Dodge commercial that states all the awards for its different vehicles, then when it gets to ram 1500 the guy says really fast "the longest lasting trucks on the road." What, no awards? Hm I wonder why. Don't take this out of context though, it also depends on your local weather conditions and how well you maintain the truck, but when you buy a Chevy you have a huge jumpstart on the competition.
  5. I wouldn't say any of the upgrades are "exciting," but some of the cars out are still pretty "new" such as solstice, sky, the redesigned tahoe/yukon, impala, HHR, and H3. People need more than one or two years to notice these cars and consider buying them and 2007 just gives people more time to kind of let these cars grow on them, not to mention new upgrades to the interiors and drivetrains every year doesn't hurt sales. As long as we still keep in contest shape for the foreign competition and the gas mileage of our vehicles is comparable to Toyota, Honda, etc. we don't need any drastic redesign for most models. I'm not expecting every new model year to be full of ground breaking new vehicles, but at the same time I don't want each model to be a complete repeat of its last year, and in 07 I've noticed every vehicle at least received upgrades in some fashion and it satisfies me fine.
  6. There is some jerk down the street from me who has a burgundy colored corvette thats either an 81 or 82 (I know, not the best year and the cross fire injection engine sucked, but it's still some prime history) that just sits in his driveway uncovered year round rusting away. He used to take care of it and drive it in the summer and cover it in winter, but not anymore. The worst part is that I live in Boston so the winter is brutal on a car and this things just going to rust into the ground...
  7. Very good news to read about, I'm just hoping the gap becomes even more narrow in the coming quarters. It's up to the head guys at GM to surround themselves with a great board and motivation to continue with the increase in profits for each division. An important thing they need to do is make sure not to just focus on one division and not another, all of them need to continue to produce great products and not fall out of consumer demand. GM can definitley make a huge turnaround by the end of this year and I'm just waiting for it.
  8. The Screaming Chicken The General's Kitchen The best steak around and everything is grilled to perfection in this restaurant.
  9. I definitley like everything about it except the spoiler, it should be downsized because it looks to big. I like the grill and hood scoops because they kind of look more masculine. Pontiac has always been kind of tacky with its plastic moldings and dramatic exterior scoops/intakes, but I guess I'm just into stuff people consider tacky and I think this concept looks much better than a standard G6, so I say it's a hit.
  10. Thank you man for bringing up the Impalas of the 90s, I almost completely forgot about those. I have to look into them more...
  11. Yes, I forgot to mention that it is supercharged, thanks for pointing that out. I came across a deal on autotrader that seemed kind of hard to pass up though, check this out: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_...g=en&cardist=56 And it's clean, as you can see in the car fax history report. For that money, I don't see how I could go wrong, but the insurance may still be too costly. The Monte Carlo itself might be too expensive too, but I'm still looking into a used 3rd gen or early-mid 90's Camaro because there would be no car payments every month and the insurance wouldn't be so bad on an older one. Finding the perfect car is such a tough decision that takes such a long of time...
  12. I agree with you on that light gray interior color, man does that look cheap and boring.
  13. It's awesome how where the radio and cd player are is turned in towards the driver, it feels more like you're in control.
  14. Yes, it is the Tony Stewart edition, I looked at it today. I liked it a lot, except for the Nascar stickers because I'm not a very big Nascar fan, but get this, they're selling it to me BRAND NEW NEVER USED for $19,900 and it's a $30,000+ car, plus they're gonna remove the Nascar stickers for me. I'm saving about $12,500 in discount money. The insurance for the Camaro was through the roof, and I wanted a 2006 MC SS but it costed too much, so I'm set on the Tony Stewart edition "Nascar." I think it will be perfect if I just get a magnaflow or flowmaster exhaust to give it that Nascar/muscle sound. Thanks a lot guys for all the help and suggestions!
  15. I live in Massachusetts, which has set insurance prices so I can't go looking for a good deal, and can only spend under $20,000 dollars. I am currently looking at a Monte Carlo SS with the supercharger and I think it's a special edition with black paint and orange stripes. I don't know what I think of it yet, but does anyone know how it drives? Does it feel like a muscle car or some rice car or neither? Can any former/current Monte Carlo owners help me out?
  16. So this is the deal, I was going to get a Camaro or Trans Am, but it's apparently out of the question because the insurance is way too high. Basically, this was a kick in the balls because that's all I ever focused on and never looked into any other cars. I really like muscle cars, but unfortunately the insurance is too high and the only ones available in my price range are Camaro, Firebird, and Mustang, but of course I would never buy a piece of garbage Mustang. I need help trying to find a GM used car that comes with a V8 and has decent performance for under $20,000. I was thinking maybe a Monte Carlo SS or a Pontiac Grand Prix, but both are hard to find with a V8. Is there any other domestic out there that fits this description? Thanks in advance
  17. Very nice reviews for a very nice car, thanks
  18. This makes me absolutely sick All this truck says to me is Dodge Ram, looks just like it. If I ever come to see one on the road I'm just going to take a bat to it. Couldn't they think of something else? It looks like they just combined an F150 and a Dodge Ram and slapped their stupid name onto it. What a Frankenstein truck piece of garbage, Toyota is still gonna be the bottom rung of the truck market. Think about it, when you think Toyota, does the word POWER ever come to mind? They just made a replica of some of the bigger American trucks and are trying to sell it with their name.
  19. Wait, so it takes like a whole minute?? One whole minute? That's an outrage! I don't have a minute while I'm in the parking lot to put stuff in the trunk! Where are you going so fast that you don't have a minute to wait to get stuff out of the trunk? It's not even like there are pins or latches or any strings attached, just holding down that button for a measly minute, how easy can it get? For all the people with the golf bags under the California sun, I understand your case considering it's such an urgent rush to get out of that golf course on that leisurely day, you don't have a minute to wait for your trunk to open, what was Pontiac thinking? I mean if you drive a convertible g6, I'm guessing it's not going to be the car you take out for camping trips and grabbing massive amounts of groceries at the supermarket, same with any other small convertible car. Basically, when you're buying a convertible like this, I'm guessing that you would already know that trunk space is going to be little to none, so why even complain? There isn't too much going into that trunk that you can't put in the seat next to you or wait for that minute to go by to open your trunk.
  20. I really don't see why it's such a big deal. So some things need to be sacrificed to make it a convertible, who cares! If you like the car enough you'll buy it despite having to put the top up to get something out of the trunk(like it's such a big deal, its such a pain to press down that button, right?). It doesn't destroy the whole car, I mean it's not like you even have to step out of the car to put the top down or up nor secure any pins. Not a big deal in my eyes...
  21. Nicee thats perfect! Is there an online vid of its intro to the show?
  22. I think they definitley need to do something with its design, I mean it's already not selling like they expected and with the addition of the Camaro which people will go crazy over it will be obsolete. They might as well stop producing this car if they don't do something with the design before the Camaro comes out because if someone wanted a sports performance car from GM, let's face it they will pick Camaro over GTO. Nearly the same performance between the two, lower sticker price on the Camaro, and better design on the Camaro.
  23. Any word on how it sounds yet? Gotta have that muscle car sound for it to be complete
  24. Probably a couple of the ugliest, funniest cars I could find hahah
  25. http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive...html?page=2&c=y Look down the bottom of the page at that GTO. Has anyone ever seen that before? It doesn't seem like a concept because it states that it WILL be made in the US and that Pontiac finally made a proper revival. I think that is probably one of the sickest concepts I have seen for a GTO yet, any thoughts?
