  1. love the Boxster and cayman.... the 911 is sort of bloated to me these days
  2. many audi drivers are control freaks and yet also tend to be more mature and less poseur than BMW freaks. they like the 'just so' quality of the interiors. A6 don't sell because there's not much of a real substance over and beyond the A4. 10 years from now, I don't see the Germans having such a proliferation of models with low volume like they do now. They will be forced to consolidate like many other manufacturers.
  3. I'd totally lease a volt if i was in better economic shape and my commute was like 20 miles or so.
  4. Make no mistake, incentives / cheap leases are a major reason for the Escape and Fusion going out with a bang.
  5. excellent review.
  6. Big things in the works for Lincoln, hope it's not stillborn........major incentives on them last month. Maybe Lincoln needs to bring back model names?
  7. To me, the previous 04+ body style Maxima was the looker. It was style. Except it had junk interiors. The new Maxima does nothing for me, despite it's mechanical highlights. I suppose it leases well. If someone thinks the Altima is bland, just upsell and switch. Give Nissan credit, they still move buttloads of them. This car, despite how nice it may be would be near the bottom of my desirability list. CVT's are still improving, give Nissan credit for keeping them at the top.
  8. give Chrysler props. lipstick on pig / silk purse / lemons out of lemonade. Really, good job for what they had.
  9. Verano = cheapest Buick. To me, it's the new age Grand Am. "I don't want a Chevy but still the cheapest GM small car". Chevy needs engine upgrades in the Cruze. A 1.6 or 1.8 turbo and a standard 2.0. I think some folks may be flaked out by a 1.4. Cruze needs rebates now. They can't hold up the big pricing forever.... Should be interesting to see if the 13 Malibu sales stumble because of no back seat....they had better have MAJOR leasing specials out of the gate.
  10. the next step for the volt to evolve is weight loss and high tech materials. maybe the volt just continues as the first production applications of newest technologies.... volt should shed 500 pounds......
  11. impressive, but once you are no longer exclusive, do you get watered down?
  12. D-Max ....if they added cab and box length it may balance out and look ok http://www.km77.com/...dmax-precio.asp
  13. i think when ford readies the 2.3 ecoboost 4 for the mustang, we might see that in the edge, taurus, and explorer. as it is, the ecoboost taurus does have more torque than the standard 6 cylinder. the taurus is too heavy yes but it's built like a tank. an ecoboost taurus with more torque and an 8 speed auto should get past 32 mpg. full size cars topping 30 mpg is a good thing. EPA combined on the Taurus is 26 i think. That is a tipping point, the 25 combined mark i believe.
  14. suburban needs something to allow real space in the third row
  15. ILX might be the stupidest model name of all time.
  16. ILX......funny how the TSX can't be the entry Acura anymore?
  17. Verano is Astra blood........ so this or a Focus ST? I had really been Jonesin on the Verano recently, then almost prophetically I saw a white one in the wild today and it sort of killed the enthusiasm a bit. I got to see the side profile from a distance, and then I got full disclosure on the rear end from a distance. Why did the taillight treatment have to be so bad? You are right about the trunk......this is the way vehicles should be packaged (hello LaCrosse). Obviously you can tell the need to have this car have a big boot for Europe. So now me myself am back to liking the Regal a bit more (there is a nice Regal Turbo manual used for sale near me, 2000 miles on it)..... but not sure when I can ever buy. And if I do I would have to fight the urge to buy a less expensive Kizashi from myself anyways. But the Verano does impress me....now your test makes me want to try one even more. I think the Verano will become Buick's Grand Am once word gets out. It's an example of a GM car that pretty much nails it all. FOr many buyers I think the Verano may also be compared to larger 'vanilla' cars like the Camry, Altima, Malibu, Fusion.
  18. Jeep has really done a nice job on the Grand Cherokee. Diesel and 8 speed sweetens the pot.
  19. ok for a toyota, not a lot of style but its not a camry turd either. i like the dash. still the Impala, Taurus, Azera, LaCrosse, all nicer. gaping mouth grille is hideous.
  20. this really is not adequate for the US.... in many ways. Styling is a miss, the interior is a miss, the powertrains I think I'll have to read up on more. This just doesn't work.
  21. Delta with its large wheelbase at 105.7 or whatever, sure doesn't render much space efficiency with it's ginormous hood but small backseat. I do think the international bickering about the early Epsilons probably did doom it to some extent in terms of having to compromise for packaging.
  22. that would be a simple fix. delta is like 105.7 wb? delta = 106 next size = should be like 110 next size = 114 sonic size should be like 102 Caprice size should be 118 you can build pretty much 90% of the cars you sell on three size wheelbases. the regal and malibu would really benefit for 2 extra inches of stretch in the back seat.
  23. seriously just buy a Hyundai Azera!
  24. I seriously like the Verano better than the Malibu too. The verano gets 2.4 and the 260hp turbo. Regal then may not be available with the 2.4 anymore? Will it get the 2.5? I imagine Buick should make the 260hp turbo standard then at some point on the Regal.
