  1. GM started doing that in '67; Pontiac's rear handle was higher, Cadillac's was actually lower. I get why they were doing that, but it has always mildly bothered me also.
  2. ^ You aren't going to be able to move for a WEEK once you eat all that!
  3. Parked next to a brand new toyoyo CHR (I think perhaps toyoyo was trying to spell 'CAR"- not sure) this morning at the convenience store. If this is part of the flood of CUVs coming, man the pumps! It was a staggeringly grotesque vehicle. I didn't know whether to gasp or burst out laughing.
  4. Upon investigation, I'm not sure. Site / installation manual points to it being for Chevys, but saw a Hot Rod article where they bolted one behind a 340 Plymouth. Still think I need to go with a 4L80E.
  5. Tough with the low rez. Hood louvers aren't right for period Ford, but does appear to have 'horn ports'. Briefly looked at period Ford, Chev, Plym, Ddg, Hudson, nash- no matches. I had the volume off, but MAN that must be a trippy movie when on LSD! I'm sure whatever the soundtrack was, I would've peeled my own skin off. Was listening to Down over it.
  6. • I basically never set foot in fast food places (McD/ BK/ W) but I'm in love with the TB Crunchwrap Supreme. • Tesla's stock 52-week high was $390/share. Today it's $257. IMO, it should be somewhere between Ford & GM (but closer to Ford). • I thought I was run down/ beat before, then I got my new driver's license photo this morning.
  7. Have to look into this, as I'm trying to make a transmission decision for the B-59 and I'd really like OD. They say 'GM' but the bulk of applications are Chevys, of course. Not sure if the 4-spd will bolt to a BBB without an adapter.
  8. My buddy just finished car shopping. Said he opened the door on a new '18 RAV4, then promptly shut it. Said it reeked of cheapness & he didn't even want to sit in it. And he's a Japanese car buyer (bought a CX-5 instead). Toyota really seems adrift stylistically. On this one, for a supposed off-roader, it's VERY strange to have such thick plastic wheelwell flares, yet have a break fore & aft where the paint is exposed to the edge.
  9. 2.1-in longer wheelbase than Equinox/Terrain, so far unique to Cadillac from what I read.
  10. Mini is the fidget spinner of the auto world.
  11. Audi is LOADED with models that no one buys. 'course that's never mentioned when people are gushing over the 'amazing Audi interior'.
  12. I have reservations. I really like the XT5's looks, but not so much on this one. Not a fan so far on the 'Escala' grille- it doesn't look expensive. There's a few other minor lines I would've done differently, too.
  13. That's not the new entry-level Jag??
  14. Weld 4 of these together and we're closer to familiar territory. Luckily, I'm not going to spend much time in it.
  15. Brought the lil bugger home tonight, about a 50 min drive out of PA. Some initial impressions; not a lot of room between the trans tunnel & the brake pedal, you'll have to get used to keeping your foot in a certain small arch of position in order to avoid also stepping on the brake. Brakes are touchy, but they work very well. 1.4T is initially a tiny bit flat, then pulls solidly. Steering wheel is small. Binnacle instruments take a bit getting used to, in addition to the red-lit tach needle making me think a warning light was on.
  16. I wonder if people buzzed about Lincoln's survival in the early '60s, with sales volume far smaller than today. Myself, I've yet to come across such period conjecture.
  17. To clarify, I am not part of that "we". Don't discount what Daimler-Benz did to Chrysler while strip-mining it while they owned it. Chrysler was in very good health product-wise beforehand, but they've never recovered to that level since.
  18. "We" do not buy as a collective, and one can only speak for themselves. - - - - - Have I ever, or will I ever, own one of these? Fiat, Alpha Romeo, Renault, Peugeot, Yugo, Daewoo, Acura, Lexus, Infiniti, Hyunadai, Kia, Genesis, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Hyundai. Nope.
  19. Well, that's the quite valid question- what does peugeot bring to the table that's remotely compelling?
  20. My bad, I missed the time frame referenced. Still, a LOT of '80s stuff was junk, certainly PigNot bellied up to the bar for their fill and then some.
