  1. I dunno- the emphasis is always to move forward at an ever accelerating pace, but once a company/industry moves forward at slower pace, the hand-wringing inevitably starts. 'Rate of growth' seems to trump growth.
  2. I think this, tho arguably convoluted up front, looks very enticing IMO. It just so unconventional.
  3. Tucker's plan to offer a single cab, full load length pickup, dubbed the 'Excelsior' ~

Just for kicks ~ Take what you paid for your daily driver, then look up it's trade in average value on kbb.com. Take that difference (your vehicle's depreciation), and divide it by the miles you've driven it (to the nearest 500 or 1000 should be fine). This gives you a cost per mile for ownership (obviously separate from maintenance/repairs). Me ~ '04 Silverado 2500HD, $15035 difference, 133K miles = 11 cents/mile.
  5. OK. Just flipped thru my Jag print ads back at least to '64, that slogan must be older than that because none of my ads used it. And obviously; I never heard it either. Some 'Yoda' I am.
  6. How in the world did you happen to know about a random ancient print ad tagline - has Jaguar issued a proclamation on the "-Pace backstory" referencing this?
  7. "Shit; -Series and -Class are already taken. What can we use?" "How about -Type?" "I don't get it." "How about -Pace?" "WTF does that mean??" "Who knows... or nothing." "Is anyone using it?" "What do you think?" "Great!! Let's use that then!"
  8. Even the 2875 lb curb weight (!!!!!) couldn't help 132 lb-ft of TRQ.
  9. I just saw they chose to go with "5" and "7". Is there any vision left in the auto industry?
  10. I believe the vast majority of consumers have no idea if 'RR' or 'LR' are models or brands or what. You say 'Jaguar Land Rover's Land Rover Range Rover' out loud and it just sounds like a schizophrenic stutter.
  11. Doesn't do anything for me. Generic, with a bit dated body & a 'zippy' light up front. Auto design has gotten depressing overall. But it's been backed into a corner.
  12. 10 SUVs in one dealership sounds like a TON of cannibalization.
  13. What's the story on the remote fuel door release? Is this something people actually vocalize they prefer over not having it be remote? One of my wife's past cars had it, always found it an annoyance (and we don't pump our own in NJ).
  14. I almost always tend to feel the outgoing models look better, tho this comparison is a mixed bag for me. Cruze looks better, Malibu looks worse. Camaro - I like the blue '19 about the same as the '18. Silver convert looks worse. I'm still out on the Silverado. I want to say I really like the '19, but I still need to see it in person/motion to be sure of what's going on. I don't find the '18 particularly striking, tho., in fact it's been a great while since I can say the SIlverado 'is beautiful'.
  15. C'mon Reg, you DO know the definition of 'rebadge', right?
  16. Well wait; why does Jaguar get "fairness" while being decades late to the party, when all Cadillac gets is 'they should have 5 or 7 SUVs?? Hell, Porsche beat Jaguar to the SUV trend, and it may be the most traditionally 'sports car' line out there.
  17. Seriously, I was driving home from work today, alone & along some great back roads thru the woods, and I was pointedly thinking about the '19 Silvie. My 'new truck itch' is rearing it's head... but the depressing conversation I was having with myself is; 'Can't buy a '19; first year bugaboos. So it'd have to be a '20... but can't buy new; new vehicle depreciation.' So I have to wait until 2021 to buy a 1yr old 2020 SIlverado. Fucking SIGH.
  18. Just like the frequent case critique of Cadillac, "this is too late, should've been out 5 or 7 years ago". I mean, right?
  19. Have to agree with Dave : interior and especially the exterior- this is fine as a generic, run of the mill $35K family sedan. I don't see anything here that supports a $76K price tag other than the HP rating. It's not even leading edge design-wise; it's barely current, and the detailing is sorely lacking. A-R is going to be piling cash in every orifice to get these moving in any kind of decent numbers. The cheesy 'good luck' fender emblem is hilarious considering A-R's reputation.
  20. I do like this one overall vs. the red job with the matte black hood. That one has a 'Chesire Cat' grin, and Camaros shouldn't be grinning- they should be angry. Those blue 'blades' thrusting forward are interesting.
