Okay, a co worker asked me... (he has a yellow 75 vette) he asked me what year did they start making corvettes in the plant that they do now? (Kentuky?) because his wasnt made there, and he was wondering where along the way did it switch
-
okay the question also asked which model it was fisrt used in... it gave 4 to choose from, i knew it wasnt the camaro, but it also said Imapla, bel air... or one other...
-
dont anyone forget the unforgetable Z06... thats a hell of a car...
-
Well a guy at work has been pestering me for a while now, on what vehicle had the first small block, i guess its on our GM training, on being Certified, but honnestly I think it has nothing to do with the new vehicles, except maybe experiance... anyhow... What is the first GM vehicle to have the first small block? and what year?

you know its sad that the ls4 and ls2 gets comparable fuel ecconomy to most of GM's v6's.... this is almost shameful for a GM v6... unless that direct injection is really going to improve fuel ecconomy, i'd say start working on v8's for all =)...

the goal like Arnold suggested earlier this year, is to change the tax on gasoline some how to tax per mile driven, because not all vehicles are contributing the same...

Yea! :Toyota: Pray on the stupid, Pray on the Hybrids, lets kill some enviornmentalists! well maybe not that last part, but if anything like this were to ever pass legislature, we might hear more news articals like "Anti-War protestors turn violent"

because from 1920-to about 1970 GM was doing everything right... if a company has its country by the nuts, it shows that the country respects it.. now days most people believe in the darwinism theory for corperatism. Personally GM is more then a company in my eyes... and it didnt take much for me to realize the passion they can put out. GM has changed the automotive industry every step of the way, GM has required law to make others correct their vehicles... and to act like the company is obsolete, and has no place in this world is blasphamy... I have more to say, but believe this is going to turn into a rant so...

you guys are missing the point... but right now their trucks and armadas are Shift_Recall I work next door to a Nissan dealer and I can tell you those trucks and armadas go in for service about as often as my bosses coffee... and those umm.. meranos i've heard those are so problematic that they are worth it to trade the negitive equity in... and the sentra are a half a decade old, or older it ought to have all its problems worked out by now... the altimas were started in 02? probably wont see a new model change until 07 or 08... Nissans will have many troubles in the years to come... Nissans sales slump is not short lived... it will only get worse...

its says average price... its 2.50 here still in Los Angeles

its sad to see citys just fall apart... a walmart moves in... poverty levels increase... its almost as bad as "Rodger and Me" Does anyone think Anti-Japanese riots will appear again?

but some people are borderline about cars... some people really think all cars are made equally... I still like the slogan "Whats good for GM is good for USA, whats good for GM is good for Americans, so buy today!"
-
Would scare tactics work for GM in marketing...? If GM had a commerical that really depicted the premium reasons to purchase an american vehicle. If they, in a comercial, analized the affects of a detriotless america... could they score peoples purchasing? Could they really hit people by saying, "In efforts to compete, with the competition, we had to lay off 30,000 americans." "Toyota says they want to help General Motors by raising their profits and making themselves less competive." "if the next vehicle you purchase isnt a General Motors vehicle, your tax dollars will goto the person that built it anyway. Because you purchased a Camry, your taxes on that vehicle went to the Impala across the street." "What is good for General Motors, is good for the USA, what is good for General Motors is good for you. Buy today" Perhaps it should endorse the fact that Toyota only employees about 10% of the people GM does in North America. Perhaps they should also bring up the fact there is 2 retires for every working GM employee, so for buying a GM product you pay for 3 people... We all know that for the most part GM vehicles are very competative in todays market. they have the best trucks and most of their cars are award winning, just have little recognition. So GM needs to get people to think right... If your neighbor is a barber, do you goto the local barber shop or do you goto your neighbors shop? support your friends, support your family support your country... My neighbor is a veteranarian i go to him every time my dog is sick... My other neighbor is a lawyer, one of the best in california, so you better believe if i get into trouble i'll hash out the money... besides hes my friend... When that barber goes home one day and says he has to close down his shop because the fantastic sams accross the street is more affordable, and he looks at your brand new hair cut (from fantastic sams) wouldnt you feel guilty? Okay, what if GM could point out, in a comercial, that our vehicles are just as good, if not better, but there are additional reasons why you should purchase from us... Why Toyota doesnt need your sale, and 30,000 americans just lost their jobs due to toyota, when Toyota only employees 37,000 in North America... Do you think a marketing campaign as such, sponsored by both Ford and GM would be worthwhile? Sure they have always preached to buy american, but does anyone really know what it means to buy american?
-
investors are wrong... let the gerneral make vehicles with high apeal like the solsice and you will see that no brand needs to be cut... but with pisspoor managment and lackluster styling... all brands need to be cut...
-
I read an artical recently, that said, whether he is doing a bad job or not, he needs to go to signal a huge change for the company... his removal would appear as a turning point, even though he might be doing good things now or might be doing bad things, i will never no...

is it time to find Saturns place? I recently was thinking that GM replaced Olds with Saturn... both were designed to be a mediocur volume brand with its own personality... but where in the Ladder would Saturn fit? I mean Chevrolet, Saturn, Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac? but each brand has its own uniquness to it, so how can you put it in a ladder... when Chevrolet is value, Pontiac is supposed to be, but today is clearly not performance and excitment Buick is comfort and not today but style Cadillac is... well Cadillac, ulta luxurious... Saturn is supposed to be what? a different kind of car company? but where is it supposed to be going? what kind of car company, A peice of mind slogan doesnt really set Saturn a straight line in the road? Oldsmobile was what? Technology with great value, being the hand me down between buick and cadillac in a volume brand? exactly how does the ladder stand up and where is each company supposed to be going, and has GM forgoten what eachbrand means? and do saab Hummer or GMC fit into this sceme of things? what exactly am I to tell customers the difference is between GMC and Chevrolet? I usually end up saying price, but doesnt that make me look like a fool? shouldnt there be more then just a second try brand to GMC? Hummer has its obvious millitary ties, and saab is clearly not in to the GM way of things YET... SOrry if I just hijacked the thread...

Well written, I wonder what he means by a replacement for the Malibu... it just got a new look for 05... are they replacing it already... That sounds like good news... maybe not Lutz keep up the good work...
-
ohh okay, just not used to GM putting one on that side... maybe i dont sell enough small cars :P
-
also... i dont know if this is a problem... but the turn signal appears to be on the wrong side of the steering column...
-
sounds like GM knew that was coming...

I would have to agree... at that point it would also be easy to see how effective advertising was being... -
okay this was told to me... i dont know if its true... but fisher used to make horse arrages, and the original automobiles were just horse carrages with an engine... so fisher made the body and the automotive company threw in the engine and tranny... so body by fisher was because the frame of the car was made by a different company... usually it was a plack in the sill of the door
