dont worry gm will accsessorize it that way they make extra money on the really nice grills :)
-
well, i was just looking over the GM Blog fastlane and i came out with... i'm assuming thats the grill of the new escalde seeing that that is the title of the article...
-
well... one might argue, the title muscle cant go with a female... but gennerally.. I think after i finished polishing my Trans Am, to say "Wow HE is SOOO BEAUTIFUL" that would take away half the beauty to it...
-
you know i prefer the crisp creases in the cadillacs... and the smoother lines in the corvette, it sets them apart. just like the crease in an ironed pair of pants and a button up shirt, over a pair of jeans and t-shirt... if I had the money I'd prefer a XLR with a LS2, but I'm pretty sure thats not an option... its either a Northstar or Supercharged Northstar...
-
if you're local to Southern Cali, I'd be more than happy to make sure you got excellent service from our service department. (not my department, but I'd do my best to make sure you recieved top notch attention)

NOTE TO AUTHOR... Nice topic... good points, and well laid out... only thing I notice; Cars, like boats, are always refered to as females... so when saying the solstice and the sky are brothers is very rude... they are sisters :P

lol i'm still waiting for a delta mini truck... off of the HHR body style... but with prices starting at 15,9 but realistically trying to find a 4banger... they start at 17k... those trucks are so expensive... if they were to start around 13k they would steal the market... if you can get a base silverado for 19k... if u could get a I4 170hp for 13k, and a I5 220hp for 15, and the trailblazers 291hp I6 for 17-18k on a single cab... those trucks would seriously take the market by storm... but they also need better gas mileage... for the motor to be class leading and still only 19-24... i think we need to see 21-28 or so, and then i'd be impressed...

is that why on one demo i did, the driver spun the back end out on a front wheel drive car? lol rather scary encounter... didnt realize the steering was anything but convetional except for his coments and his unhappiness with the perfromance... to say the least the equinox didnt have the tow rating he desired, and got a trailblazer, due to the better handling and stronger stance...
-
this is no joke... Ahem... Bush, where are you on this one... do you not care that we are selling ourselves short on our leading industry? Every Great empire falls to bad leadership... let not the leadership of the world blind you from the leadership of your kin...
-
what does this mean, i always have trouble understanding what a stronger dollar means to a weaker unit... Does this mean it will make Toyota's more expensive?
-
not to flame, but the only one of the three that sells is the Hummer... unless GM made a Humer Pickup off of that name, I think we have a problem... The Colorodo isn't very popular, at least at my dealership it isnt... its too expensive too... unless ur getting a single cab you might as well get a silverado...
-
to be quite honest... the equinox is my least favorite to go on a test drive with at the dealership... its kind of sluggish, bumpy ride, and not very comfortable... the trailblazer owns it hands down...
-
you know now that you mention it... there wasnt one at the Anahiem Auto Show here In Cali that was debuting all of the 06 models...
-
thats the way new products are... and i'm glad i'm not seeing any premiums on the HHR's... but, we're selling them about as quick as we get them and we arent a car store... so its a cool mix to our buisness... new traffic... but solstices dont expect those for another year and for the SS's be patient and keep your eyes peeled...
-
the dealership has been told to not worry about sales slumps and just make sure that we hold out until 06... but... i think we've got a few changes coming up next month... probably go away with value pricing...

Reliability Report of Japanese automakers
Newbiewar replied to mustang84's topic in Site News and Feedback
ohh and after 5 years Domestics require more maintance? lets try 8 or 10 years and i bet the domestics still have the same amount of problems as at 5 years, where as the asians I'd say after 8 or more years the asian problems start to all fall together... -
Reliability Report of Japanese automakers

all chevrolet's dont need to replace a timing belt... they are all chains except for the aveo... and it is supposed to be changed prior to 60k miles... not 100k, well i guess each automanufacture is different. GM is trying to show their vehicles besides oil and filter changes, are maintance free for 100k miles... with long lasting plantinum tipped spark plugs 100k miles, long lasting sparkplug wires 100k miles, 150k - 5year dexcool antifreez, timing chain that never needs to be replaced, accessory belt made in part with kevlar so it lasts 100k miles. so you decide the advantages of this? These things are just one way that GM is trying to have the customer save time and money durring the ownership of its car... -
maybe less emissions... most owners seem to be enviornmentally focused customers. How many of them are considering the impact of the batteries on the enviornment? They are designed to be recycled but there is no guarantee that this will be done as the hybrid fleet ages.

here is a memo i got from one of our sales trainers. A 2006 Prius costs $4,325 more then a compareable Malibu If you average 55 mpg - pay back time will be 5 years If you average 44 mpg - pay back time will be 6.5 years A major consumer magazine states that 44 mpg is more realistic Based on $3 a gallon and 15,000 per year. Based on a Malibu averaging 27 mpg Hot climates have dramatic impact on fuel economy due to the air conditioning draining the battery thus, requiring the use of the gas engine. Dont park a Prius for 2 weeks without starting, this will drain and damage the batteries. This may not be covered by the warranty because it could be considered owner abuse. Replacement cost of the Prius' battery is approximatly $3,000 plus tax and installation. Tell your customer to check with their insurance company. Many insurance companies charge more to cover a hybrid vehicle. Most Consumer websites state that the current generation of hybrid vehicles will not save the customer money. GM's HYbrid stratagy focuses on first applying hybrid technlogy to the highest fuel consuming vehicles, such as transit buses and full size pickup trucks and sparts utility. GM states that replacing the 13,000 buses operating in the nine largest transit markets in the United states would equal the fuel savings of 500,000 small hybrid vehicles. Let's look at just a few of the advantages that Malibu has over the Prius. more front and rear legroom more front and rear headroom more overal interior volume better crash test ratings from NHTSA Malibu has standard power hight driver seat - Prius does not offer power seats More standard horse power **Malibue 2.2 145 hp - Prius gas engine 72 HP, gas electronic combined = 110 HP Don't forget that JD Power rates Malibu as "Best-In-Class" for initial quality and vehicle dependablity!

well... no one really does anything despite profits... but i mean come on... when someone creates a car and is only inspired by the profits they will see... cars like the camaro, chevelle, corvette etc... dont ever come out... some automakers have passion in their cars and some just do it for money... I'd prefer if GM would have passion with their cars, and forget about the shareholders... if you really wanted to please the shareholders, get the stock to double by putting out great product... but spinning off companys like OnStar, Oldsmobile, Fidgidare, etc... just to please the shareholders, the bean counters, you piss off people like us, who love cars...

Toyota set to pass GM as world's largest carmaker [RANT] Well I've got to say... The Japanese based Toyota sure is interested in aiding the US Economy... They want to increase prices to make their vehicles less competitive agaisnt the Domestic automakers. They've invested billions into America and employeed... lets see... according to this Toyota according to their website in 2004, Direct North America Employment is 37,351 Well... To those that dont know, in the United States roughtly 10% of all employes are in the automotive industry either directly or indirectly. That would probably be roughtly 25 million people employeed in the automotive industry. And to say more, The Japanese based Toyota sure is interested in aiding the US Economy... in another artical bashing Toyota, titled If I were king 5/26/05 a journalist writes: $36.55 for the average American auto worker, says automotive consultant John Hoffecker of AlixPartners. I've heard USA autoworkers are third in world wide wage rates... #1 being German Empoyees, and #2 being Japaneses employees... Why then if the Japanese automakers have such good ethics to pay better then 36.55 that in america I've heard as low as 10$ an hour? Why does Delphi need to be around 9$ to compete with many of the other automakers, if the USA average is 36? Why doesn't GM clam to have indiectly employees(perhaps they cant count them all)? Why does Toyota claim to have opened up 200,000 american jobs, when they really only employee 37,000 people here in america? Why if Toyota is so concerned with Anti Japanese protests do they continue to advertise moving america forward, when clearly they are moving americans backward by bankrupting two of the largest American companies? [/RANT]

rememeber everything GM does to start off with? CVT has the potential to increase efficency by a lot, and increase acceloration by a lot... it just has to be done correctly, it can be done with pulleys, cogs, gears, or chains and made just as strong as any manual transmission... but when GM works with Ford to create one... thats why its unreliable... GM's & Fords CVT is done with metal gear like cones and rubber/kevlar belts... not sufficent... They just gave up at their first try...
-
well which 6-speeds autos were in the 2006 corvettes that we arleady sold and the one in our show room right now? is that a different plant? or is this an old artical

not exactly sure how the government could possibly want to send GM to court... thats like uncle sam putting a knife to his throat.... and i dont mean GM would win the court case, i mean gm would probably lose, or lose enough money that the company would go under... but... i would prefer that nothing about that company cares about shareholders and shareholders income... but i think that is all rick wagooner cares about is the shareholders
