my buddy who sometimes meanders upon our forums (mainly hangs out at the ranger forums but he wants back into an Fbody) dsfd506 is a state employee and brought up a video for me to watch. this is from our capitol city, the used car salesmen i think is fueling this without knowing (or caring) what he is sould be contributing to. its one thing to own an ex cop car but i cant help but think that maybe there are ulterior motives that could be afoot. what is your opinion. http://videos.thestate.com/vmix_hosted_app...1&sort=NULL

i wanted a 97 2dr tahoe i found with 65K miles. the guy wanted 7800 for it. my dad told me, you know, it wouldnt be fun to be paying on a car that you'd have to pay someone to fix too. so i got the colorado new. if you have to finance, it may be better to go new(er) with the warranty. if you are paying all or at least 60% up front for the other, then go for the one you want more.

in the hemmings they quote some numbers from the book by Eric White called The GTO association of america's pontiac gto/gt-37 illustrated identification guide. according to the book there is no breakdown in numbers for the engine codes for 1970 but in 71 there were 5,802 gt-37's produced. 5,015 of them came with the 350 L30 motor, 572 had the L78 (400-4bbl), 146 with the L65 (400-2bbl), 54 had the LS5 which for pontiac was a 455-4bbl rated at 335hp and 480 ft/lbs (this used the 197 heads.), and only a scant 15 slipped out with the L75 which was a 455-4bbl that made 325hp and 455ft/lbs of torque (used the number 66 heads.). something interesting about the car was the fact it had mandatory bench seats. there were 3 different steering wheels being the custom cushion, custom sports, and the formula. the most interesting thing about it though was that according to john sawruk, there was nearly no sound deadeing in the car which resulted in 120lbs of weight reduction. total production for 1970 came in at 1419 units. power plants: L30 350-2bbl 255hp/355tq #11 heads L65 400-2bbl 265hp/397tq #11 heads L78 400-4bbl 330hp/445tq #16 heads automatic L78 400-4bbl 345hp/430tq #12 heads manual (dual snorkel air cleaner) transmissions were dictated by engine choice. M13 3 sp floor m20, 21, and 22 4sp and the th350 and 400 for automatic. rear end. 2.56,2.78,3.07,3.08,3.23,3.31,3.55,3.90, and 4.33 varied depending on engine and transmission as well. could also get the saf-t-track limited slip. i'll come back and do the 71 in a few cause i have to go back to work now.

theres a body shop down the road form the house that specializes in boats and old cars. they do insurance work too though. anyway, one week there were 3 caddy sts's in the parking lot, all a pale metallic shade of pink. told my dad how odd to see 3 together like that. by the end of the week there was 2 pinks and one silver, next week 2 silvers and a pink, then 3 silvers on a car hauler when i got to work at the hospital the other day there was a polo green saturn sky redline with tan interior and tan top in the normal parking lot, in the doc's lot there was a granite blue metallice colered one with the same interior and top.

not too long ago here in anderson a b17 and a b24 came to town. courtesy of the collings foundation. for a $425 donation and enough signups they would take you up in the b-17 or the b-24. for $7 you got to walk through both planes. i filled up a memory card somewhere with pictures. they were also on jay leno's garage http://www.collingsfoundation.org/tour_b-24j_video.htm http://www.collingsfoundation.org/tour_b-17g_video.htm here is the schedule. http://www.collingsfoundation.org/cf_schedule-wof.htm On topic, i would love the chance to walk through a B52. What an amazing piece of machinery. Boy did the taxpayers ever get their money outta her. people in the air force jokingly call her their grandfather's plane. as long as parts are still available they are projected to be in service til 2040 i think. probably only the 1911 and kabar have been close enough in service length.

also to add to the list. 1978 Macho Trans Am 1986 pontiac 2+2

i have 3 payments left on my colorado. i cruised the local dealership the other night. i am not necessarily looking to buy cause there is a house coming up soon, but i couldnt help but leave a little disheartened that the only trucks that i liked there were the ones that were all $35K and up. i was only looking at the ext cabs with the LT1 packages not the LTZ or LT2's

grr i have much disdain for the ss s-10's having owned a 1990 ss454. those s10's were nothing but a badge and a paint job to me. its cool, i didnt exactly make my post as clear as i should have.
