  1. isnt there a law in california or somewhere in canada where they crush your car if they catch you street racing it?
  2. Yeah just go ahead and do that bean counting suit, you prolly killed my chances at a rwd impala. castrate the camaro and i'll cut my bowties so that they form pentastars... at least they seem to listen to enthusiast that want a little performance in affordable packages
  3. thats right, now that we cut back on whaling, japan has doubled their efforts... endangered species be darned. no amount of policing by a handful of nations will offset the rest of the world, it helps but we are just turning into the wind and dropping our collective pants in the long run.
  4. or a karate chop to the throat... inability to breath garners attention quickly hehe
  5. or in that end of the world flash animation, goes to hang with hawaii... alaska can come too.
  6. eh, maybe i should have specified with that opening statement. Al Gore's mew religion is a farse, i do believe we are irrepairably damaging the planet at an alarming rate but as far as ice caps and glaciers and we're all gonna fry or drown... records show a history of all thats taking place now, taking place eons ago. where did the great lakes come from? retreating glaciers... what caused that global warming?
  7. now we base laws on something not definatively backed by scientific proof? OAKLAND, Calif. -- California is making it mandatory for cars to be labeled with global warming scores, figures that take into account emissions from vehicle use and fuel production. The law requiring the labels goes into effect at the start of next year for all 2009 model cars, though its expected the labels will be popping up on cars in the coming months. The labeling law forces cars for sale to display a global warming score, on a scale of one to 10, which is based on how vehicles in the same model year compare to one another. The higher the score, the cleaner a car is. The score takes into account emissions related to production of fuel for each vehicle as well as the direct emissions from vehicles. The score will be displayed next to the already-required smog score, which also rates cars one to 10 for how many smog-forming emissions they emit. For both scores, an average vehicle will have a score of five. California is the first state of pass such as law, and a similar law will take effect in New York for 2010 model year vehicles. Global warming scores will be included on the state's DriveClean website. While this law is intended to help consumers take into account emissions while purchasing cars, a proposed law in the European Union would require E.U. public sector bodies put a price on emissions. A law endorsed by the European Parliament's Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety would make governments put a monetary cost on the emissions of vehicles they plan to purchase, and add that to expense calculations. The law would exclude certain types of vehicles, such as ambulances and fire trucks. http://www.greenbiz.com/news/2008/07/07/ca...l-warming-score
  8. chevy tracker ZR2!!!!! school bus yellow ftw!!!
  9. forward(with or without intent)
  10. i like the part where it says they build them here to avoid the importing fees and pass the savings on the consumer... gives me a warm fuzzy feeling... or that could be diarrhea i dont know i had spicy stuff for dinner last night. try building a factory for one of the big three over there and i am pretty sure it would still get fees slapped all over it.
  11. i've been told the rarest are the white with grey interior, never actaully seen a white one in person. i'm shocked one of these hasnt popped up yet 62 bubble top bel air most went straight to this just has nice clean lines
  12. thank you blu, it was my grandparents. they parked it in 87 and gave it to me for my first car, what i drove all through high school. i finally graduated college and got a job about 3 years ago and put the majority of what i have earned into it cause i knew when a house and married life came along if it wasnt done it was never going to be. sheepishly i admit that i farmed it out and in hindsight i wish i had done it myself but the resto shop(if you could call them that cause we aint exactly happy with each other) had ties with a big to do local engine guru so i got a stout mill in the fenders. she is my pride and joy.
  13. Got that my senior year in high school. it belonged to a friend of my dads. they went to the winston race where they debuted and he said right then and there he was getting one. sold his 74 vette and bought one at ward smith chevrolet in seneca sc. sadly he passed away in 96 from cancer and the truck went into storage. in 99 her son was about to start to drive and she didnt want him in it, though while she wasnt home he was taking it into a new subdivision and smokin the tires off it. i got it with 32k miles on the clock for 10 grand. needed some buffing and an new exhaust and there was some scratchesin the bed from one of their family members hauling wood in it. i actually had a friend that got the cat off and a straight pipe, it was the sweetest sounding beast i ever heard, in fact i recorded the idle and saved it on a memory card. owned it 4 years, wound the clock up to 73K miles, and won many a street race with it. traded it back to the same dealership it was purchased from cept it had changed owners. they sold it to a guy in alabama on ebay. i put my number in the the owners manual and he called but i didnt have my phone on me to talk. the window sticker merp on it was $18,950 lil pricey for 90 by the way they are doing thing on spike tv where they are putting a 92 ford lightning against a 90 ss 454, they did a head cam and intake swap and some exhaust work and are churnin round 400 hp with it. maybe 450hp

  19. 67 le mans?
  20. sweet, i hate that packard went the way of the dodo, so many outrageously cool options for a car in its time. i remember on an episode of my classic car there was a mid 30's packard that had a map light that came out of the glove box. our 55 had power windows and the self leveling ride suspension.
  21. no i do not, i am very safe with my self contained explosive devices! although we did burn a 1/4 acre of a field once...

  23. i'd go for the truck, but with past experience with a 55 packard clipper constelation... packard parts means you better have money in the bank when you need something
