  1. I think the shifter knob with the wood trim is EXACTLY the same as the Camry XLE. Color, style, everything. There are two things which can kill this design easily. One, the freakin new Hynudai smell. I spent a couple days this summer at the Hyundai dealership prepping cars for the lot, and they suck to get into cause they smell bad. Two, even if the interior design is good (new Santa Fe), they use cheap plastics. People harp on Hyundai for this a lot, maybe a bit too much, but seeing Hyundai interiors in person compared to pictures made a huge difference to me and definitely lowered my opinon of the marque.
  2. I see plenty of Bugatti in the front...
  3. "The new Tundra is seven feet tall!" "Yes, I've heard. Kills men by the hundreds. And if IT were here, it'd consume the Big Three with fireballs from its headlights, and bolts of lightning from its exhaust." /braveheart
  4. Yeah isn't there a thread on this forum somewhere where it was universally agreed upon that the Ridgeline is NOT a large pickup? This is a nice list. Surprised to see the 4Runner on top, even though it is a solid vehicle.
  5. While there are some other factors involved, my dad's first car was a '63 Falcon and now he drives Lincolns and Mercurys... ::shrugs:: This concept is the only reason why Scion exists, btw. Except the Scions are pretty well-equipped for their price, though some of the exterior styling leaves something to be desired.
  6. No manual...eh, whatever. Excessively large bowtie on the back...I can deal with it, though I really don't like that trend. The inside...nice enough. Not amazing, but good for a work truck. The exterior styling? Not good. It looks more like a toy and less like a work truck. I see elements of Tacoma and Dakota in it as well, which really throws me off.
  7. The papers in Pittsburgh, as well as the yinzers who read them, are actually just kinda resigned to the fact that we're going to lose as long as they're owned by the same group of people. Attendance really is impressive, though. But I don't wannt drag this one too far off-topic
  8. Bowtie dude has the best idea. I've been thinking about FoMoCo's tiers while reading everyone's posts...and how Mercury has never really had a solid identity...at least GM has distinct identities for all of their brands. What interests me here is that Ford has a ton of lines too, in some form or another. But they're not seen as a seven-marque company, you just think of Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury. So maybe the solution would be to give some of the GM brands more autonomy?

Profile = last-gen Sonata squished together with the Azera. The front end is interesting though. In the end, the only thing that will move 'em out of dealerships will be their ridiculously low prices.

Does anyone remember the Chrysler ME4 supercar concept from 2004? http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_...chrysMEfour.htm Those are some mean specs; you'd think that some elements of this could make their way into the next Viper.
  12. How did it compare to this, was it the same? (taken from here)
  13. The exterior is what a RAV would look like if Toyota could do exteriors well. It looks great. The interior looks nice and clean, but you really can't judge interiors until you get in them. Paddle shifters = gimmicky. I'd don't know if I'd like to see a trend where they start showing up in cheaper cars...it'd be as bad to me as wood trim in a Corolla (can't stand that). I'd drive it.
  14. You don't think that looks in the least bit more angular? The grille more open? It does to me...more modern-looking overall.
  15. I think the car they built it just a little too retro. This sketch looked at least a bit progressive. Hopefully they'll tweak before production but it is smart because it shares so much from the parts bin already.
  16. Since I know how you guys feel about CR> http://www.truedelta.com/pieces/shortcomings.php Oh and join the site if you'd like, it seems pretty cool.
  17. Can I just say that Sheetz is the greatest thing to happen to gas stations? yup. it is.

Um, am I crazy, or does the badge on the rear end not look like a chevy badge at all? Looks much more like a Buick badge.
  19. Nice, but... Bad grille! Bad grille! And I really thought they'd do something with the door handles for the next refresh. It looks sleek. That profile is sexy.
  20. Where's Scion? Yay for the Merc ranking
  21. I wonder if the whole Dr. Z thing is putting people off? I mean, it's no secret to auto enthusiasts that DCX is German-owned, but would this ad campaign be enough to keep the "Buy American" crowd out of Chrysler showrooms?
  22. This car was absolutely unnecessary (9 MPG city ) but really freaking cool. And I saw two on the road yesterday after having seen only one at a dealership. So I'm sad to see it go. And SRT, please put this engine in the MEGA CAB...it'd be fitting.

    VW Tiguan!

At first glance it reminds me of the Phaeton's concept drawing. Which turned out to be pretty nondescript.
  24. "Consumer Reports, which generally avoids opinionated reviews..." Um... "An EPA spokeswoman says the agency does not consider alternative-fuel vehicles in selecting the most and least fuel-efficient vehicles. We, however, do not see why ethanol-powered cars would not be fair game for the list." Uh... Wow.
  25. Profile is nice, very exotic. Back end is not that good. Front end is okay, but the lines in the hood are NOT necessary. (Nor are they for the Crossfire IMO) Interior is solid-looking, though you can never truly tell until you see it in person. The features seem cool.
