  1. Autoblog has their pics posted from the reveal that show some of the details better than the GM photos. http://www.autoblog.com/2012/01/08/2013-cadillac-ats-debuts-in-detroit-diesel-engine-confirmed/
  2. Interior looks good. Exterior I'm not sure of yet...I'll with hold judgement until I see pictures that aren't GM press photos.
  3. I should have copied down the VIN on the Chevelle so I could decode it later...pricing on it seemed pretty crazy to me. That's cheap if it is an LS6 car... In reviewing the full size images, the badge looks to say "SS 454" and it did have cowl induction. Had a dent in the passenger side door too... Believe it was a labeled a '78. Was interesting it had rust in the cab, but the fenders/bed looked OK.

  5. Yep the Chevrolet FS sold about 1 million that year and Imps & Belairs had the same lights. Caprice was still ramping up from 65 intro so they're harder to come by I think the price on the Caprice was $10K.
  6. I saw an interesting car for you at my hotel -- an early 60's Ford "Falcon-chero". Black primer, CA black plate, being used as a daily driver. I'm assuming it was a phantom, but looked good. Was gone when I came back to get a picture of it. Not a phantom - the Falcon Ranchero was in regular production through 1964/65 (when the bodystyle changed). It then moved to the midsize platform, where it stayed until the end of production (1979?). EDIT: In fact, you can see one in the James Bond movie Goldfinger. Guess that explains why it looked so well executed I was disappointed I didn't get to study it more.

  8. I found it interesting to see cars from the 60s and 70s on the road being used as primary transportation...certainly not a normal sight in the Northeast!
  9. Continued... Liked this one too.
  10. I went to Northern California to visit family for Christmas. Stopped by a consignment shop and snapped some pics to share. This one said "7ft bed, 454, $800" This Gran Torino sold while I was walking around. I *really* wanted this F-100!! I also liked this one. Note price tag below!
  11. So far, I like it. Curious what the full list ends up being... http://www.autoblog.com/2011/12/13/the-list-0001-graduate-from-a-high-performance-driving-school/
  12. It's like the executives at Honda and BMW made a bet to see which company could trade on their heritage the longest as their cars strayed further and further from the characteristics they used to build a loyal following for the brand. Nightmare.
  13. The PR firm responsible for this sent an explanation to the Hemmings Blog. Still seems like a dumb idea... UPDATE (6.December 2011): The folks from Hudson Creative, the PR agency, got in touch to offer a few additional details. When it was found, the car’s interior was already gutted and it was extremely rusted. Our passion is cars – if it could have been restored, it would have been. Instead, we cleaned up the body and are using the motor and engine to restore another vintage Cadillac. Also, Frank Kent plans to immortalize the symbolic Cadillac as artwork for years to come. At the grand opening, it will be buried nose-first into the ground, paying homage to Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo Texas. http://blog.hemmings...-1953-cadillac/
  14. Saw these listed going up for auction this weekend in my Smoke Signals magazine. 16. Nice! The day of your first solo tends to get etched in your brain for life... Congrats!
  17. Congrats! Been a fascinating thread to follow...
  18. So has anyone ever heard of Brewster as a car brand/manufacturer? I was talking to my friend's uncle at Thanksgiving dinner and he was telling me about one of the cars he has, a 1934 Brewster Town Car. Seems to have only been built between '34-'35 and had Ford mechanicals beneath a custom coach built body...which was produced in Long Island City. It looks like this:
  19. I already posted that one Actually, you didn't, BP. You posted the Holden Efijy, not the Buick Blackhawk. Both purple and great designs, any of us could have done the same thing before our morning caffeine. ;-) I posted twice on 11/20: the Holden at 10:34 and the Buick at 10:37. After doing a forced reload in the browser, I get the hotlink error...prior to that there was a nice big Blackhawk picture! Dangers of doing an image search on the internet I guess. Sorry about the confusion... If I were forced to pick between the two, I'd pick the Holden anyway
  20. GM PR for EV1 called: Imagine The Impact Part 1 GM PR for EV1 called: Imagine The Impact Part 2
  21. Not micro or mini, but the Impact was kind of teardrop shaped...
