Destiny!!!
Are you sure it is not a 4 cylinder FWD appliance with 4 doors? You did not make any progress by buying a 1971 RWD.

a 2.5L?
Dwight, since you bring the 2.1 L displacement - what if we reduce the 4.3L Atlas I6 into three cylinder model and apply DI, VVT with another optional turbo engine?

Granite LUV truck
That is the exact problem I see with GM - that part somehow remains same old (from the post Roger Smith era). GM needs high strength carbon fiber balls like the steel ones it did in the 50's and 60's. I see a penta sided attack to the market. Granite truck - 4 pots only Camino - 4T, 6/T, 8 Colorado replacement - smaller and more efficient 4T, 6/T 1500 with innovation 6/T, 8 And the flagships - heavy duties 8/T All the vehicles must have a diesel option. Innovation should proliferate in all the vehicles. Except for the Colorado replacement, all vehicles can be shared for development across the board. However, Colorado replacement can be share across the different markets.

Granite LUV truck
^ That is creative stuff. I think the doors will not make it if this thing is approved for production, possibly an increase in bed length will be the solution. I was wondering just like SUV craze, whether GM can start a truck craze by being innovative and forbearer in such ideas put into practice.

VE ute plus some reworked Camaro front end parts
I am on fence with this one. Some softness there definitely in the back, but I prefer the looks of the current VE.

Granite LUV truck
Can you show me the picture, as I do not see one?

Granite LUV truck
One observation - with the bed gates opening flush with the side walls, where is GM planning to put the rear lamp cluster, around the bumper area?

Granite LUV truck
With diesel this thing would be even more compelling. I am liking the Granite concepts more and more. GM should build them.

AZ Wrong on immigration
The efficiency has definitely increased. My green card took only 65 days since filed. Previously the interview itself used to be arranged no less than 6 months if you were lucky. H1 visas take less than 72 hours through e-filing if your sponsor company has all ducks lined. As much as we blame government, some giant strides are being made in immigration dept.

Cadillac is moving down market...
Seriously Sal, try some reading before talking about biases. If all would have been well in 2008, and car sales would have been at 16M per annum, and if GM model would have worked, you would have had the large, RWD V8 Caddy now instead of 2013. The argument you are making is about you having Caddy with those attributes NOW, and not about Caddy NOT having the car with those attributes. Given that GM is in the process of making that car neither does the argument of Cadillac going down market nor Caddy not having large, RWD V8 has any base. And when is the last time Caddy made a large, V8, RWD Caddy? Patience seem to be missing in the so called GM fans.

Cadillac is moving down market...
Well said. People ranting about Caddy seem to have memory loss about the 2008 bankruptcy.

Cruze Eco MPG shows that displacement doesn't matter much
Probably some part of GM is still same old. I agree with you 100% there. Why add a caveat with "Eco" for mpg numbers when you can make these changes across the Cruze models.

I do not know about the C3, but corvettezine and other communities are pretty helpful about knowing where to find parts. Most of the locations I dealt with were for C5s, which I do not know will carry parts for C3. C3s are odd bunch, they are collectible, yet are not tremendously sought after, so getting parts can sometimes be difficult.

Man exactly a year ago we were sitting in a shack munching burger and shooting breeze. Time passes fast.

Happy Birthday Boss. Time to get a new vehicle.

a 2.5L?
What fuel economy numbers would you be looking at Malibu (3,500) lbs, and Cruze (3,200) lbs?
-
Destiny!!!
Awesome. Makes me NOW get one too - a corvette club within our group.
