  1. Source Inside Line
  2. I am pretty sure 6L90 was a clean sheet design when GM gave marching orders to develop the 6-speeds for both FWD and RWD applications. FWD applications were developed with Fords, while the RWD were totally in house.
  3. Not to my knowledge, but other than issues of packaging (possibly being a bigger transmission) what is preventing against the transmission being used in passenger cars?
  4. There is always Allisson.
  5. Who funded this researcher?
  6. Definitely a thermal problem there. I am glad that you got the chip.
  7. Nice job Herr Borger, keep it up. But I will hold on my excitement until we see something.
  8. The middle management was one of the major hold backs for the old GM - pencil pushers, negative nannies, bean counters, turf protectors to name a few. Seems like Big Ed only cleaned up the upper house and let the middle deck in, which is now rearing its ugly head up. However, we can't blame him either for not being able to do that, because doing so would be extreme micromanagement and consuming huge time resource, a resource he did not have. Lutz bunted those people, but with no one like Lutz in the playing field, they are having a field day again.
  9. Because it sounds "technologically advanced", it has "more street cred", it is a "DOHC" and it can be "developed" even further.
  10. Make that two.
  11. And what are those advancements?
  12. There were approx. 44 to 48 of those made, but never came to be seen by public. Some say they were crushed, some say they were secretly sold/given to GM insiders, all we know is that there was a mini-mini-mini production run of 1983s. If found one of those, she would be extremely lucky person. That is where you making it as a project car comes into picture.
  13. Dear God of Corvette clans. What engine?

    New job

Congrats DF. Spread the good word of Domestic vehicles around.
  15. Care to elaborate, as some of us might have forgotten to read between the lines.
  16. In 2006/7 GM had registered "8" and "eight" as trademarks, wonder what happened with it post-bankruptcy.
  17. There is always venerable C5 that blows everything mentioned above in terms of performance, reliability and fuel economy as well. You can find a nice 2002 Z06 for price of a M3. I have gotten 32 mpg cruising at 70-75 mph on flat I-95 in SC and GA.
  18. I was just kidding. I am going to keep the car for a while. BMW reliability is a hit or miss. Mine has behaved good so far but I hate the dealerships. Look at the bimmerfest or E46 forums to see the reliability issues. There is no 335i ZHP till MY 2011, which is coupe and convertible only. Sports package is a better alternative. How about the Z350 or a previous gen G35 coupe?
  19. Disagree, GM has more than often abandoned markets, let rot the products, and orphaned its customers.
  20. CPO 335i with sports package, or sparingly used E46 330i with ZHP package, since you want M3 like characteristics. CPO will get rid of dumping money into BMW's gremlins and stealerships. A 2005, 2006 CTS-V - but at a fuel economy sacrifice. We can talk if you want, you know.
  21. I have not used the intel's consumer processors for a while. Xeons have no AMD competition. You are right when it comes to price/power/performance AMD is better for consumer procs.
  22. LOL, you AMD humpers.
  23. Congrats. Finally for getting the right truck you wanted. Was the price right?

It has exceptional safety ratings, and a full 95 percent of the smart's parts are recyclable.
