  1. Rental or tow a trailer....I like the exterior of the GC much better than the Durango. That being said, i like how I can disagree with Surreal without him feeling like his manhood is threatened...kind of refreshing...
  2. The V8 option is a huge plus, and I am by no means hating on the Durango. Saving that for a worthy target like the current Taurus.
  3. Why did I know it would always come back to the S class being #1...
  4. P and low output Stinger do not sound like a good combination...
  5. ...but we could throw a set of tires and shocks on it and get funky.... Something that cannot be said for the x3, XT5, or the other vehicles being discussed. The Lexus, Lincoln and Acura just look like they have had unfortunate intercourse with a tree stump...they come that way from the factory. Eventually, they will find a way to call in Patina and mark it up even more... Would find an M version enjoyable I think.
  6. ...and here you and I disagree. I would take this in a minute over the Durango. Would not even be something I would ahve to think about. No one outside of people trying to win an argument on the internet.... Neither the X3 or the Xt5 will see anything worse than a logging road or a dirt path...
  7. Marketing and interior comfort are things I hear from people here in the Midwest also...I think Marketing especially....and that goes for all of GM. How many adverts do you see for say the Cruz diesel?
  8. It would just cannibalize sales from the Golf, actually. Adding models, be they crossovers, trucks, convertibles, or whatever is not always the rational way to build a business.
  9. Not just yes but hell yes.... I could care less....I have absolutely zero interest in Benz....if every Benz factory on the planet shut down tomorrow and never re opened it would not bother me a bit.
  10. Stupidity has no peer like an over confident SUV driver... You have a different life style in Washington than the rest of the country... There is an automotive world outside of 1959-1964....hard to believe, but it is there if one is curious.
  11. I have to go with this...going really off road means your willing to write off some sheet metal or some paint IMHO. I do not see people doing that with this when a 87 Jeep Cherokee works well, has a huge aftermarket and fantastic club support, and costs less than the gap insurance the BMW dealer will try to sell you with the x3. XT5 going off road means driving through the wasteland of urban Detroit when the driver mis sets his GPS trying to find a steak house... ....but in all fairness the closest thing this will see to a trail is picking up mulch and roses at a nursery... The Grand Cherokee is highly capable off road though, one of the reasons I woudl choose it over probably any other SUV over 30K.... Only exception would be if I hit the stupid lotto and buy an F pace...but I would have to play the lottery first... Conformity, conformity, conformity....if I didn't buy an F pace or a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the over 30K SUV realm, I think I would be buying a MINI product...
  12. I like it better than i like the Ford products, or the Durango, or the smaller Benz crossovers, or the Nissan products, or the Honda products...or Lincoln for that matter...or infinity... Maybe not what I would pick...but better than much of the competition. This is not designed for the Rubicon any more than a Subaru Forrester is. It is designed for a white collar person trying to make it through a winter in Duluth, Chicago, or Buffalo.
  13. Sad...but the question is asked in a hopeful and positive tone, not to bash Consumer Reports...what should Cadillac do to improve its public perception?
  14. Consumer reports listed the Escalade as one of the ten worst vehicles to buy in a recent article. What can be done to improve perception of Cadilalc vehicles? From the article; It’s easy to become enamored when a car is shiny and new, complete with a new-car smell. But over time that seemingly great choice can look like a bad decision. Here at Consumer Reports we spend a lot of time helping consumers make the best choices. But the same testing and surveys we use to make those determinations also show us, and you, products to avoid. To help you keep buyer’s remorse at bay when it comes to car shopping, we’ve assembled a list of the worst picks in 10 popular categories based on the lowest Overall Score. Our Overall Score provides a complete picture of each model, combining road-test score, predicted reliability, owner satisfaction, and safety, including government and insurance industry crash-test results. While some of these cars have their fans, we’d suggest that these stay off your shopping list. There are literally many better choices in each category. Consider one of our Top Picks, or use our new-car selector to find the models that excel in the areas that matter most to you. 1. Cadillac Escalade -Lowest Rated Luxury SUV The Escalade lacks the character of a true luxury SUV; it rides too stiffly and doesn't stop or handle with the grace of its peers. Despite casting a massive shadow, the Cadillac is not even that comfortable inside. The second-row seats are too low, and the third row is cramped. The Cue infotainment system is confounding. Reliability ranks worst in class. We consider a well-trimmed Chevrolet Suburban or GMC Yukon XL to be a smarter buy.
  15. My Miata would happily drive up on a three inch high rick...with the suspension set up for autocross... Actually like this more than several other SUV's, including the Durango and the Ford lineup...also more than the Pathfinder and the Nissan lineup....
  16. Ohh exactly... And with a battery pack dropping the center of Gravity...a smaller Chevrolet version....would be just killer. I think GM has some good things in store for we who wait....!
  17. I used to own a 55 Chevrolet two door post myself...Honda in their entire history has never built anything like this, nor will they ever. Love that color of Blue BTW....
  18. Actually after doing a bit of research and checking this out, I would have to without any question whatsoever put it above the Fusion Sport and maybe above the 300 as a car I would actually buy. Would also buy this over the Nissan Maxima from the other thread... Sheet metal is much more interesting than the Acura TLX SH-AWD also...
  19. Thankfully, yes...Cadillac is just so much more interesting visually than the Benz or BMW.
  20. Excellent review, I agree largely with what you said.
  21. GM was ahead of the 2017 Honda products with their interiors in the 1950's.
  22. I am just waiting for Gm to build a sporty little electric roadster like the Miata....would love that!
  23. Agree... although I still like it... I am more at peace that the Continental but I still find it overly soft and feminine in the design language...just like the Accord. Thankfully I never have to buy either one.
