  1. I think they are working on it, the new MK 7 Golf/GTI/R is a huge improvement over the previous car. GTI and Miata are still at the top of the list for replacing the aging MINI when the Beetle is paid for. Jetta has been in production so long in its current itineration that most of the bugs ahve been worked out, much like the old W body Impala. Passat, like Jetta has most of the bugs worked out. Beetle is a fantastic car for my wife and daughters, they are very happy with it, but I will be the first to admit it is a dated platform VW has let rot on the vine a bit- Stew-can relate to your love of Honda, saw a dark blue Civic Type R the other day on the road as I was going home....I take back what I said earlier...I would take a Civic Type R over a Mustang GT I think.
  2. They are ahead of Ford, Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, and the like in terms of cars- Civic is not my cup of tea but is a really hot product in the market place. Disagree....the Fiesta is the number one selling car in Britain according to one source I read. VW is up 15 percent and Ford is down five percent for a Delta (difference) of 20 percent...that doesn't happen in a down amrket for no reason. F 150's and Mustangs baby...the same marketing concept they had in 1974! SWB Tiguan would help.
  3. Again contrast this with how dated Fords passenger car lineup is.
  4. I would trust GM in a heart beat before Ford. Honda does have a nice lineup but I am not a fanboi for any Brand. Aren't you a cheerful Little puppy. GM, VW and Audi are brands I would drive before Ford or Lincoln any day of the week. The voice of reason!
  5. I am Happy for you. In the mean time, I will quite happily enjoy German cars. Quit trying to confuse people with Logic, evidence an reason. That never seems to end well for anyone.
  6. I did see an absolutely pristine and sweetly detailed Avalanche on 70 Eastbound the other day...was that metallic orange GM used for a couple of years. Thought of you and Albert.
  7. I was thinking you gentlemen could almost keep the Buick and buy an F series crew cab with the 5.0 For the other vehicle. Yeah, I know I said earlier I would take the GM truck...but the Ford F series is also Amazingly nice. Plus pickup trucks hold resale really well.
  8. CT6 is a much better car. Neither the S or the 7 are products I find appealing in the least. But then again, I am not a luxury car buyer.
  9. Actually they appeal to a lot of younger buyers also...I have three children in their twenties and all three of them seem to have a lot of friends who drive Subarus.
  10. I love that the 49-50 Mercury makes both of our lists.
  11. So what...why should one automatically want to pay as much as possible for a car?
  12. People realized what a bland over priced ride it was.
  13. I will put up pics later doing this on my phone. 1 1932Ford Touring car, stock restored 2 1936Ford Roadster stock restored 3 1940 Ford Woodie wagon, Stock Restored 4 1949 Mercury, Mild custom 5 1956 Thunderbird, stock 6 1966 Ford Mustang, Stock Restored 7 1970 Pontiac GTO, Orbit Orange 8 1974 Pontiac Firebird SD 455 9 Cadillac CTS V Wagon 10 Brand new Ford King Ranch 4wd. Mustang would be an A code or K code fast back with the GT package
  14. And the Continental Is way up with the S class down.
  15. Not a bad route to take. That Buick. worked out infinitely better than the CRV!
  16. Actually I am starting to see why Benz sells so many vehicles. Compared to the lame ILX or the MKC...Benz is a rock star from an automotive standpoint.
