  1. Steelers FTW! Chris
  2. Find one of those loose Kentucky whores you were talking about, buy a 5th of Jack Daniels, and get drunk and get laid. When you wake up after that...go take a really long walk. Relax. You can't buy a 30 year old car and expect it to run 100% until you sort it out. Your best bet is to actually skip the first advice I gave you (medical bills for the clap will wipe out the car budget), take the long walk and... Drive the Cutty until you can save up $1500. Buy a targetmaster 350 NEW from GM. Make some very mild performance mods, such as an Edelbrock dual plane manifold, an Edelbrock 650 CFM carb, et al. Put a TH350 with a shift kit in it. Drive it for a year and get it dailed in. When you get all of the little mechanical issues taken care of, electrical etc. Then do cosmetics and interior work. Think of this as a long term project rather than a short term deal. Chris
  3. Or drop a blown (supercharged) Hemi in the prisim and listen to THAT music. Seriously...nice job on the window, glad it went well for you. Chris
  4. Why not just fix the damn Regal? Be a nice car fixed! Chris
  5. Now that I think about it, I think cream might be right. Don't think the taupe has enough contrast. Chris
  6. My two cents would be to fix the regal first... But do as you wish, you only live once! Chris
  7. Used Cobalt SS is just the cats ass as far as used cars go. And I should know...as my cat is on my keyboard as I'm writing this, and he's trying to rub my face with his ass. Maybe my cat wants me to buy a Cobalt? Chris
  8. If your going to go the VW route... Either hook up with the older guys in the air cooled VW crowd or join the Diesel VW drivers groups. I get "bounced" by lots of VW Ricers in Jetta's and such in my Miata for some odd reason. Also when I'm driving/riding in my friends SVT Focus. Don't let the idiots in the Vortex Forums and such turn you off if you really want a VW. Chris
  9. +1 on the Terrain. Chris
  10. My Vote-Cobalt, keep it pure and simple, the economy is still very fragile. Try XFE perhaps? Does anybody know if they make a 2LT coupe with a manual? Chris
  11. Actually, I saw an Intrepid in a salvage yard that had the all tan Interior, in really good shape. Looked good! Too bad the rest of the car was toast, but...the interior was really nice. Chris
  12. Sometimes even a small thing working on a car can be fun. Cleaned the glass on the wife's crap box this afternoon, inside and out, streak free and spotless. Go do something, dude! Chris
  13. Really hopeing the Mercury serves you well for the winter...and that you find a Job in Wyoming, or somewhere else far away. Chris
  14. Looks like a nice mod, DF. Glad to see you continue to make progress on the Intrepid. Chris
  15. My fav. TA's are the Dark Green 4th gen cars. VERY sharp, IMHO. Would LOVE to own one of those. Chris
  16. Actually if I lived in the southwest, I think I would like Sante Fe. Plan to visit there sometime. Sounds interesting. Chris
  17. Had a Co-worker who had a nice one that sadly was stolen. They are hard to find...but I remember them new. I've always wanted one of those. Chris
  18. ...yet another car. Saw this and thought of you. http://www.productioncars.com/vintage-ads....smobile/Cutlass THAT is what you need, my friend. Chris
  19. It is nice to know that these cars are becoming so affordable. Good luck, Whitenight! Chris
  20. Savannah Georgia is really cool, and I almost moved there from Atlanta a few years ago. Problem with Savannah is that there is only a very small middle class. Savannah is a small number of well off or fairly well off people living with a bunch of people who have no upward mobility or chance at upward mobility. A lot of Savannah looks like Cleveland...and not in a good way. Kind of run down, kind of funky...but the parts of it that are beautiful are spectacular. Of the places I would live if I could...Savannah is still on the list. But I'm with Bob on this one...new York and New England. WOW...like he said, esp. in the fall. I love older homes an architecture, and this place has them in droves. Sadly, a whole lot of New England seems really hard hit by the "rust belt" and as such, don't know how easily I could make a living there. Chris
  21. ...and Caddycruiser...I am jealous. Wish that I could trust someone local like that. But I distrust most of the local dealers, as most of the people I know have had bad experiences with them.
  22. Go to http://www.tdiclub.com and check around. See if you can find a local VW "guru" that can do a timing belt change. Good luck! Chris
  23. +1 pretty much. I will farm major stuff out, but small stuff is just too much fun to do myself. Manual tranny gear oil change is like $85-$125 at a dealer. Can do it myself for $15, why not save $70 And I hate chains of any sort with a purple passion. Costco isn't bad, but I hate Walmart and such. Plus I don't trust them. Had a room mate once take his car to walmart for four consecutive oil changes...for the 5th oil change, guy took the car back to his mechanic. Mechanic points out that it's the same filter mechanic installed 5 changes ago. Chris Chris
  24. Not that much of a Dylan fan, but like Hendrix. Chris
